How about Santa –  colored with some Stampin’ Blend Markers and matted on Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper, just remember to add the stamped image to the specialty paper then to the card front so you can hide the adhesive behind the image and a few glue dots behind some of the plush meeting points.

Then there is a Hot Cocoa holder, perfect for a pack of Instant Cocoa, Candy Cane and even a thin piece of chocolate if desired. Any matching card stock and designer series paper would work great!

Remember the Foam Shaving Cream Technique?

Have you’ve done the Foam Shaving Cream Technique? Today I have three cards made with Whisper White card stock I’ve colored using ink re-fills and foam shaving cream, then heat embossed with Clear Embossing powder  for a shiny look.

What is the Foam Shaving Cream Technique?

Here is what I did:
  1. Add Foam Shaving cream in a layer about 1″ thick on a paper plate
  2. Add multiple drops of re-inker to the shaving cream in various colors in an area a little larger than your piece of card stock you plan to use (mine for this example are 2¾” x 4¼”)
  3. Randomly swirl together the drops with a toothpick
  4. Press the Whisper White paper into the shaving cream, pressing lightly
  5. Lift out the paper and using a plastic ruler/card scrap off the shaving cream
  6. Repeat steps 4 & 5 if needed to fill in any areas
  7. Allow card stock to dry completely before using on project
  8. Paper will curl slight, you may need to use more adhesive than you normally do.

Here is the first card where I matted the card stock I’ve dipped with Just Jade card stock and adhered directly to a Magenta Madness card front with images stamped (full strength ink) in the top left/bottom right corners. 2020-2021 In-Color Enamel Dots in Just Jade finish the look.

Here is the inside, were the poppy image was inked, stamped off on scrap paper – then inside the card. Sentiment in stamped with Just Jade ink to coordinate back to the front colors.

For the next two examples I started with two pieces of Whisper White card stock that were dipped – one with Seaside Spray and Misty Moonlight ink re-fills and a second were I added Rocco Rose and Bumblebee ink drops. Next the pieces were cut into strips and matted on Misty Moonlight card stock.

Here is my final example where I’ve used images from the Tasteful Touches stamp set for the background on the card front and inside. Sentiment from Peaceful Moments stamp set. The matted piece was adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, same with the sentiment.

For the inside I’ve added a small strip of the colored card stock along with stamped images and a sentiment.

Here are the basics for the card:
  • Sahara Sand card stock base
  • Layering Square dies – Scalloped squares
    • Melon Mambo

  • Layering Square dies – Whisper White squares that fit into the scallop squares
  • Zebra’s on the right are adhered directly to the card front
  • Zebra on the left adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the inside of the card I’ve decided to use a variety of the sentiments with a few more stars. I’ve even stamped a zebra on an envelope to go along with the card.

Nov20 Sunday Stamper Cards

Happy Sunday, hope you are having a good weekend so far!  Today my Sunday Stampers will be gathering for some safe person stamping and I thought I would our project with you.

We make three project each month and I thought this month we would start off with a classic simple card featuring the Queen Anne’s Lace Photopolymer Stamp set before we get all inkie!

Wendy is the hostess this month and she likes techniques, this next card is special just for her – we are mixing the Joseph’s Coat Technique with the Kissing Technique. Details on how I put this together can be found on the downloadable project sheet at the end of this blog post.

Now that we cleaned all the ink off our fingers, here is the final project which can be a card or if you add a piece of designer paper to the bottom of the inside you can turn it into a gift card holder. I’m featuring products from the Quite Curvy Bundle, along with the Curvy Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set and Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce & Sahara Sand coordinate so nicely together.

Love of Leaves card & matching treat box

Hope all is well with you, today I’m featuring a card made with the Love of Leaves Bundle, which just happens to be great for this time of year. I’ve also added a Clear Tiny Treat Box filled with chocolate candies that just happen to match the colors I used for the card, how cool is that!

For the box, which comes flat, I folded and burnished the folds, added the candies and closed it up, then added three stamped and die cut leaves in Mint Macaron, an Embroidered Ribbon bow and Champagne Rhinestones.

Below is a picture of just the card, each leaf was stamped in the same color ink as card stock (Mint Macaron, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso) then die cut and embossed. I’ve also die cut two leaves using the Brushed Metallic Card stock. Some leaves are directly adhered to the card front while others have a Dimensional either on the tip or entire back for depth on the card front.  Designer Series paper mat was also dry embossed for something extra. For the sentiment I die cut one of the leaf’s and stamped the Hello on it, a Mint Macaron bow covers where all the ends of the leaves meet.  Champagne Rhinestones add some bling!

Amy Doster for a middle easel card, another fun fold I’ve not made before.

Just love these little guys on the card by Peggy Good:

How about a spin on a Z-Fold card by Diane Lezada-Donart:

Fun Fold Swap cards – Part 1 of 2

This past weekend was a lot of fun, I participated in the first ever virtual Stampin’ Up! Onstage@Home event from the comfort of my sun porch!  While I would have preferred to be in Salt Lake City visiting with my Stampin’ Up! friends, COVID had other plans for us.  Stampin’ Up! did a great job with the event and I even won a $15 product credit – WOOHOO!  There are so many awesome new products in up coming January – June 2021 Mini Catalog, along with Sale-a-bration!

On Friday I shared the card I made for a mail in swap I participated in as part of Onstage@home.  Between today and Wednesday I thought I would share with the you the cards I received back in the mail, along with the name of the person who made the card. I loved all the cards I received. All cards are Fun Folds.

I’m starting with the holiday cards.

First is a card by Pamela Laughinghouse-Smith, not only is this a card – but there is a slot for a gift card!

Next we have Sandra Haynes:

A belly band holds this card together made by Nancy Rosner:

How about a Z-Fold card by Nora Hampton:

Here we have a Double Flap card by Lynn Lohman:

Linda Virts made a Pop & Twist card:

Here we have Sally Nusbaum:

The last card for today is from Liz Corpuz, with a folded card on the front!

Jar of Flowers for Onstage Fun Fold Swap

Every November Stampin’ Up! has what is called Onstage (formerly conventions) where demonstrators from all over the world gather for presentations, team building and sharing idea’s with others.  I was really looking forward to attend this year as it was in Salt Lake City November 5th – 7th here is the US and not in a different country. Since we’re unable to gather together in person this year, they are offering a virtual event, which I’ll be participating in.

One of the things I really like about Onstage was joining a swap, making and sharing cards with other demonstrators.  As a member of a Onstage Facebook group I’m in, I was able to participate in a mail in swap – send 15 cards and get 15 back. Today I’m sharing my card with you for a “Fun Fold Swap”. Later this month I’ll share with you the cards I received.

Here are the specifics to make the card:

  • Misty Moonlight card base 5.5″ x 8.5″, scored at 4.25″ with 1″ cut off one side
  • Run the shorter side through your embossing machine with Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder
  • In Good Taste Designer Series Paper 4″ x 5.25″ piece for the inside
  • Whisper White card stock die cut with Scallop Rectangle Die from Stitched So Sweetly Dies
  • Just Jade card stock 2.5″ x 8″, scored at 4″ and one side adhered to the inside and the other flaps over the front
  • In Good Taste Designer Series Paper 2 3/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece for the outside of Just Jade piece
  • Stamp and punch Jar (Just Jade ink & card stock) – adhere with Dimensionals
  • Using Memento ink – stamp flower image, color with Stampin’ Blend Markers and cut out with Paper Snips, adhere with Dimensionals
  • Sentiment banner is 1″ x 4″, flag one end and tuck other end under jar, cut excess paper if needed, make sure to only add adhesive to the portion that is against Just Jade piece so you don’t adhere the card closed
  • Add In-Color bow with glue dot and In-Color Enamel dot at the bottom

This view has the front embossed section down so you can see the inside with the flap section.

Here is a picture of the inside of the card, where the Scalloped Rectangle was stamped and adhered close to the bottom of the designer paper in the middle.  Not to worry, all of the swap cards I sent in did not have ink smears on them, I kept that one for myself!

Curvy Celebrations – part 2

Today I thought I would share two additional cards I’ve made using some scraps and boo boo’s from when I was practicing using these dies, they are a little tricky – make sure you know which side is the cutting edge before running through your die cutting machines.

First up is a birthday card I created with a mix of patterns and pieces and I’ve stamped the greeting on one of the Sahara Sand designer papers series. On the inside I used another scrap to create a pocket to hold a gift card.  Here is just layered up the scraps, adhered then cut off any hanging edges.

Here are the items available:

  • Quite Curvy Variety Bundle – #158396 – $70.50.
    • Quite Curvy Bundle
    • Curvy Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set
    • Classic Christmas Designer Series Paper (6″ x 6″)
  • Quite Curvy Bundle – #156228 – $41.25
    • Quite Curvy Photopolymer Stamp set
    • Curvy Dies
  • Curvy Christmas Photopolymer Stamp set – #155364 – $21
    • Perfect for Christmas, New Year’s and Valentines Day
  • Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper – #155969 – $11.50
    • 48 sheets of double sided pattern paper, 4 of 12 designs in Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce & Sahara Sand

Below is a holiday card all tied up with a double loop around the card and triple linen thread bow!  Card base is Sahara Sand, mat is Shaded Spruce – stamp sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White – then add your scraps!

Who doesn’t love the purple? The second I have to share with you today is a birthday card featuring the card stock colors Purple Posy, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.  This card can be made using any color combinations or shades, I used scraps for the two thinner strips and a 3″ tall strip for the larger portion, for me I found using a wider than needed strip easier and I did not sweat about worrying if the die cut did not match up perfectly.

For the inside, I’ve added the scraps on the left side and will stamp the inside once I know who I will be using the card for.

Fun Fold with Forever Fern

Welcome to November 2020, did you remember to turn your clock back one hour and enjoy that extra hour of sleep? I sure did, unfortunately it’s a cold rainy day here, but on the bright side I’m thinking about my Christmas decorations and putting them up soon!

Today I have a fun fold card for you featuring products from the Forever Greenery Product Suite from the Annual Catalog.

The card starts with a 4.25″ x 11″ card base scored at 5.5″, then from one side you remove 2.25″ x 5.5″ to create a flap.  The key to the card is making two each of all stamped images, one for the card inside and one for the front flap.  The image below shows the inside and the back of the front flap.

Here is the front view of the card, just looking at it, hard to believe the bottom portion will swing open.  I’ve used stamped and die cut images, card stock die cuts and one of the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper on the front along with a double bow and some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.

Below is a peak into the inside of the card, my designer paper is 4″ x 5.25″ then I added a stamped piece of Whisper White 1.75″ x 5.25″. When putting the card together, I found it easier to dry fit (no adhesive) the inside die cuts to make sure everything fit nicely, then I adhered them – once this was done I added the pieces on the front to make sure they matched up perfectly.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!
