FabFri164 Color Challenge

Happy Friday to all you crafters out there!

Today’s card is for the FabFri164 Color Challenge, banner below.

For my card I decided on the Love You to Pieces Bundle which includes the Love You to Pieces Clear Mount 10 piece rubber stamp set,  to create puzzles and other exciting projects and the coordinating Puzzle Pieces Thinlits Dies. With the dies you can create various die-cut puzzle pieces in record time, even making your stamped creations interactive by using the large puzzle piece die. I’ve used the large thinlit to cut out the 16 puzzle pieces and mixed them up!

Card specifics:

  • Soft Sea Foam card base which I’ve stamped using Versamark ink for a subtle background
  • 2 Puzzles cut out and pieced together
    • Flirty Flamingo from the Brights Collection Designer Series Paper Collection
    • Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper (Soft Sea Foam sheet)
  • Puzzle matted on Pear Pizzazz then Flirty Flamingo and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Two stamped puzzle pieces – adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Flirty Flamingo bow with Ribbon from All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack, adhered with Mini Glue Dot

Happy Tails for PCC338

Half way through the week and for the current Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch challenge PCC338. This current challenge is a two weeks long so why not plan along (like how that rhythmed), banner for the sketch is below.

I spent a few days thinking about what to do and I kept going back to the same stamp set Happy Tails, a set perfect for dog lovers everywhere! The Happy Tails Photopolymer stamp set is part of a bundle, coordinating with the Dog Builder Punch. The stamp set has 16 photopolymer stamps and the dog is about 2″ x 2″ when punched out. Bundle pricing is only good through June 3, 2019, the end of the current 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.

Here are the specifics of my card which I’ve kept simple by using only three colors:

  • Crumb Cake card base and ink for all images/greetings
  • Whisper White background stamped with bones & paws
  • Coastal Cabana card stock mat (adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals)
  • Glitter Enamel Dots (Coastal Cabana)
  • Brights Collection 6″x 6″ Designer Series Paper
  • Linen Thread for a bow

Have some Plastic Wrap in your kitchen?

Today I thought I would share a background with you made with plastic wrap – yes – the same plastic wrap you have in your kitchen. For this technique you can use Shimmery White card stock or even Watercolor Paper. All I did was open my ink refills, tear off a piece of plastic wrap and crinkle it up, drop some ink on it, spritz with water and dab all over the paper – once paper is dry stamp images/greetings of your choice. For my cards all layers are attached with liquid glue.  The banner on the blue card is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the first card once the background was dry I stamped the butterfly from Beautiful Day in Versamark ink, sprinkled with Black Embossing powder then heat set.

Colors for the background include:

  • Balmy Blue
  • Coastal Cabana
  • Pacific Point
  • Night of Navy
  • Frost White Shimmer Paint

The card base for the next card is Mango Melody and the greeting is from Amazing Life Photopolymer Stamp set and I used the Stamparatus so that if needed I could stamp the image a few times.

Colors of the background include:

  • Poppy Parade
  • Pineapple Punch
  • Mango Melody
  • Frost White Shimmer Paint

Bee in the Garden

Happy Sunday, are you having a good weekend? We’ve been busy getting the backyard ready for summer, hopefully the pool will be open soon. I’ve been working on making cards with the products I’ve purchased during the demonstrator preorder period this month, one of the awesome perks of being a demonstrator! Why not join today and you can be making cards with products before everyone else.

Today’s card features the Dragonfly Dreams Photopolymer Stamp set, which has matching dies, the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies so that dragon flies and other images can be stamped then die cut using your favorite die cutting machine.

The card base Mango Melody that has been stamped using a image from the set in Mango Melody to create a border. The next layer is Night of Navy with a piece of Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper. To create the focal image I used the 2″ Circle Punch and Starburst Punch where I stamped a bee in Night of Navy on the upper half of the Whisper White circle. The greeting was stamped in Night of Navy ink and the banner ends can be created with either the Tailored Tag or Triple Banner Punch.

#simplestamping

Today I thought I would share a few cards I’ve made recently using #simplestamping

What is #simplestamping you ask, it is three basic things:

  • stamps
  • ink
  • paper

The first card is using stamps from the April 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit, the first Distinktive Paper Pumpkin kit with this type of stamp set included. This card is three layer, but you could easily use Whisper White or Very Vanilla for the card base and stamp directly on the card base.

Here I am using products from the Classic Garage suite along with a few die cut pieces for stepped up card. The card base is stamped with the car from the stamp set using Pumpkin Pie for tone on tone, some designer paper and die cuts and your card is made.  Hint: when die cutting always cut a few extra especially Whisper White & Very Vanilla they always come in handy for quick easy stepped up stamped greetings.

The final card is using designer series paper (Wood Textures, unfortunately it is no longer available) stamped on directly using the Wood Crate stamp set. Do you stamp on designer series paper? if not, give it a try!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Happy Birthday Jake!

Happy 21st Birthday to my favorite nephew Jake!

It’s so hard to believe he is 21 this year, it seems like just yesterday he was this cute little boy sitting behind the wheel of the RV and how he is a handsome man finishing his junior year at the University of Delaware. I found this picture the other day when going through some drawer trying to make room for my new craft supplies.

Here is the card that sent Jake to celebrate #21.

Here is how I made the card, the background 21 along with the happy birthday greeting are stamps from the March 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit. The background is a piece of Classic Garage Designer Series Paper stamped with the 2 and 1 and a few party hats!  The letters spelling out his name are from the Large Letter Framelit Dies which are retiring June 3rd – if you don’t have these I recommend you purchase them – you will find lots of uses for these, they are great for eclipse cards, banners, posters and you can use both the positive and negative space of the die cut.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Sunday Stampers May 2019

It’s Sunday Stamper Day!

This morning the ladies will be over to make 3 beautiful cards, receive their new 2019-2020 Annual Catalogs and have some surprises!  I’ve picked some fun cards for the ladies to make. Each person will get to make two backgrounds using the polished stone technique and both floating frame cards.

The first card features the “Polished Stone” Technique which uses four basic items:

  1. Ink Refill’s (colors of your choice, I used Mint Macaron & Highland Heather on this card)
  2. Glossy  Card stock
  3. Rubbing Alcohol
  4. Cotton balls

For our second card we are using the other half of the Brights Collection, back in March my Sunday Stampers made a fancy fold card and I kept the remaining pieces and we are using them for this card. You can check out the March post here.

The final card for the card is a “floating” frame card. We will using the Daisy Delight Stamp set and matching Daisy punch – look for a matching stamp set and smaller daisy punch in the up coming 2019-2020 Annual Catalog June 4th.  The post explains a floating frame card.

FabFri163 with Animal Outings

Happy Friday, have you spent anytime crafting this week? I’ve had limited time and it sure felt good last night to get some craft time in and prep for my Sunday Stampers this weekend – after card making I’ll be sharing new catalogs and special gifts with the group.

Today I thought I would share with you the card I made for the FabFri163 sketch challenge.  Check out their blog and play along!

For my card I decided to feature one of my favorite bundles from the current annual catalog Animal Outings, the Animal Outings Stamp set along with the Animal Friends Thinlits Dies. You only have until June 3rd to receive the bundle pricing on your purchase, while the products are carrying over to the new catalog the bundled pricing (10% savings) is not. I’ve teams the bundle with the coordinating Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper for the “Welcome Little One” card. The designer paper was used for the banners behind the focal image and as the main mat on the card base. One thing I really love about the paper is how you can use the Thinlits to die cut images from the paper.

Polished Stone Technique for PCC336

Welcome to Monday, did you have a good weekend? I spend mine working on organizing my craft room to prepare for the new Annual Catalog. One of the perks of being a demonstrator is the ability to order before a new catalog goes live. Check out my Join the Fun tab for details on joining the Stampin’ Up family and purchase products before everyone else.

One of my other tasks this weekend was working on projects for next Sunday when my Sunday Stampers meet, since the Glossy Cardstock will be retiring I thought why not make a card using it, so I though I would make some samples using the “Polished Stone” technique. The base of my card today uses this technique.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch challenge PCC336, Vertical Sketch, check out the blog by clicking the sketch below.

My card is featuring three items retiring from the current Annual Catalog:

  • Glossy Cardstock
  • Oh So Eclectic Stamp Set
  • Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies

The bottom of the card features the “Polished Stone” Technique which uses four basic items:

  1. Ink Refill’s (colors of your choice, I used Mint Macaron & Highland Heather on this card)
  2. Glossy  Card stock
  3. Rubbing Alcohol
  4. Cotton balls

Here’s what I did – added some rubbing alcohol to a cotton ball, added a few drops of ink refill  and pounce all over the glossy card stock – if desired you can use a new cotton ball to dab off any excess ink. Since you are using rubbing alcohol the ink dries fast!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Happy Anniversary Mike & Diane

Happy Anniversary to my brother Mike and sister-in-law Diane – It seems like just yesterday that my dad lost a front tooth and a large group of us piled in the car after the rehearsal dinner to go out for a little bit!

For their card I decided to try a design I’ve not used before for their card. Not sure what to call it, but  I did use the cut out portion of the card base for the mat on the front.

The card starts with a normal base cut to 5½” x 8½”, scored at 4¼”, then on the front 2¼” from the bottom I cut across to the fold and up the top and removed that portion. Next I added a piece of designer series paper 2″ x 4″ to the bottom flap. Using the card stock I just cut off, I cut a mat  3¼” x 4″, with an additional mat 3″ x 3¾” and whisper white 2¾” x 3½”.   Images from the Abstract Impressions Photopolymer Stamp set where stamped on both the inside and out.  Happy Anniversary is from Itty Bitty Greeting stamp set.

Here is a side view of the card:

For me at least, when I attached the inside stamped piece of Whisper White, I used the front of the card to lay the image on, add adhesive to the back, then close the card from the back – this way I made sure that piece would be hidden behind the front focal image.

Beach Sampler for Shari & Dave

Today I thought I would share with you a Beach Sampler that I made for my cousin Shari and her husband Dave for the beach house they bought this year in Myrtle Beach.

Here are the basics on how I put this together, I look forward to working on a few more samplers for different occasions.

  • 12″ x 12″ frame from local big box store
  • Whisper White for background (12″ x 12″)
  •  Pool Party Squares (3″ x 3″ or 3″ x 6¼”)
  •  Whisper White Squares ( 2¾” x 2¾” or 2¾” x 6″)
  • High Tide Photopolymer stamp set, Lilypad Lake Bundle, Colorful Seasons Stamp set, Seasonal Layers Framelits and Waterfront Photopolymer stamp set
  • Large Letter Framelit
  • 2019, bottom right is from the Make a Difference Photopolymer stamp set
  • On the back I signed my name and date

Retiring Bundles

Hi there, not sure if you are aware or not but with each new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, the bundles change – so while products may be carried over from one catalog to the next, the bundle pricing or savings of 10% does not. Now is the time to check and see if there are any bundles you may want to get now before either the product retires or bundled pricing goes away. All current bundles are listing at the bottom and available while supplies last through June 3, 2019.

Below are some of my favorite bundles from the current catalogs:

Happy Tails Bundle – the Happy Tails Stamp set and Dog Builder Punch.

Sea of Textures Bundle – the Sea of Textures Stamp set and Under the Sea Thinlit Dies.

Rooted in Nature Bundle – Rooted in Nature stamp set and Nature’s Roots Framelits Dies.

LilyPad Lake Bundle: Lilypad Lake stamp set and Lakeside Framelit Dies.

Lined Alphabet Bundle, the Lined Alphabet Photopolymer stamp set and Layering Alphabet Edgelits Dies.

Animal Outing Bundle, the Animal Outing stamp set and Animal Friends Thinlits Dies.

Lovely as a Tree is retiring . . .

Today we are celebrating the stamp set “Lovely As A Tree”.  After quite a long run, this stamp set will be retiring, If you don’t already have this stamp set, you need to get one  or even a new one to replace that old set from years ago.

This set is extremely versatile, while there are no words in the set, the images can be used for a variety of occasions and holidays.

For my first card, I’ve chosen a sympathy card, Lovely as a Tree has always been my go to stamp set for these types of cards.

  • Pool Party Card base
  • Basic Black mat (adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals)
  • Whisper White for stamping
    • Ink up the stamp in Memento black ink
    • Stamp on large acrylic block and then to bottom half of paper (for reverse mirror image)
    • Stamp image on top half of Whisper White
  • Using Sponge Brayer add color to the paper to look like sky, ground and water
    • Crushed Curry
    • Powder Pink
    • Granny Apple Green
    • Balmy Blue
  • Greeting is from the Kindness and Compassion stamp set, stamped in Memento Black on Pool Party card stock

My second card is Autumn themed and here I’ve teamed the stamp set with a greeting from Rooted in Nature (you will want to get that bundle now while you still can save 10%).

  • Soft Suede Card base
  • Real Red mat
  • Whisper White for stamping
  • Ink the leaf in Pineapple Punch, then using sponge daubers add some Real Red and Grapefruit Grove – no two leaf’s are the same!
  • Greeting in Soft Suede
  • Before adding Real Red to the base, tied on Braided Linen Trim
  • Gold Metallic Pearls finish the card (or hide a ink mishap)

For my last card I’ve teamed up Lovely as a Tree with a greeting from Itty Bitty Greetings for the holiday card.

  • Cherry Cobbler card base
  • Vellum card stock embossed with Tin Tile folder
  • Mossy Meadow card stock mat
  • Whisper White Rectangle Stitched shape for stamping
  • Stamp the tree, use a small paint brush to add liquid glue and dust with Dazzling Diamond glitter for sparkle
  • Greeting is in Cherry Cobbler ink

Pop of Petals for FabFri162

Happy Friday, hope you had a good week, don’t know about you, but I am sure ready for the weekend, any  special plans?

Today’s card is for the FabFri162 Five Color Challenge, check out the colors below. When I first saw the colors they screamed spring flowers, so the Pop of Petals Bundle (Stamp set & matching punch) are perfect for this card. Don’t forget to check out their blog here.

Let me tell how I made my card . . .

The  card base is Pool Party card stock and ink for a tone on tone look and stamped images around the outside edge only since I knew the inside would be covered by the main focal image.

For each flower I stamped two images and used a mini Stampin’ Dimensional to put them together, then I decided where I wanted the flowers on the Whisper White card stock, picked them up and stamped leaves in Coastal Cabana. To fill in the spaces between the leaves I stamped some flowers using Pool Party ink. Next I adhered the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals and used some retired white enamel dots for the centers.  The greeting is from the Varied Vases Stamp Set – which comes in a bundle as well, with a matching punch. Both of these bundles will be carrying over to the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, but not as bundles – so if you like the sets, purchase them before June 2nd to save 10%.
