Tic Tac with Dear Doily for PCC331

Happy Saturday to you all, any special plans? I’ll be getting a manicure and pedicure this afternoon followed by dinner at the Harmony Inn. For my birthday this year, I turned 60, my staff purchased a gift card for me to enjoy an evening out, I am so lucky to have a great group of ladies working for me!

My card for today is for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge PCC331 – a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge, banner below. Before we get started I’d like to thank the team over at Paper Craft Crew for picking my card for PCC329 as a Top Pick, you can check that post here.

So what row to pick? I decided on straight down the left side:

  • #simplestamping
  • Metallic
  • Favorite

For my card I decided to use the Dear Doily Stamp set, unfortunately the coordinating framelits are no longer available. This stamp set is great for #simplestamping as the images layer nicely. The sentiment is full strength ink, while the doilies are 2nd generation stamped images. For the brad I punch a hole, attached the brad then added the layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card.

  • #simplestamping – simply stamps – ink – paper
  • Metallic – Copper Foil Sheet for mat and copper brad in the center of the largest doily
  • Favorite Color – Coastal Cabana

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Brighter Days to Come

Today I thought I would use a stamp set from the annual catalog – Beautiful You combine with the Layering Oval Framelits and Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, one of the $50 USD Sale-a-Bration items. This card would be perfect for someone going through a rough patch in their lives and we all know someone who could use a card like this.

For my card all pieces of designer paper are matted on Daffodil Delight and the card base is Balmy Blue.  The image of the girl with umbrella was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and die cut with an oval. The mat is a scalloped oval in Old Olive.  The horizontal paper as well as the image and greeting are all adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To color the image I used both light and dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend Markers as well as Light Highland Heather. Her dress has Clear Wink of Stella for sparkle. Gorgeous Grape Glitter Enamel Dots finish off the card.

Falling Flowers for PCC330

It’s hard to believe Sale-A-Bration will be over in one week, have you gotten everything you wanted? If not, it’s a great time to stock on essentials like paper, adhesives, ink pads and refills or each that stamp set or bundle you have been thinking about and get free product as a bonus.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch challenge PCC330, click here or the banner below to check out their blog and play along!

For my card I’ve mixed images both water colored and colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers – can you tell which is which?

The water colored images were stamped in Staz-On Black ink and colored with ink from an ink pad using an Aqua Painter and the Stampin’ Blend colored images where stamped with Memento Black on Thick Very Vanilla card stock, colored with the same colors and all images die cut with their matching framelit. I created a basket for the flowers from Sahara Sand card stock, the Basketweave Dynamic TIEF and Braided Linen Thread, the basket is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals for depth. The large swirl image from the stamp set was stamped before the basket was attached, then all the flowers and leaves positioned – then adhered with either liquid glue, mini glue dots or Stampin’ Dimensionals (mini & regular). Greeting is from the Well Said Stamp set and die cut with the smallest Rectangle Stitched Framelit. Finishing touches include both Glitter Enamel Dots and Faceted Dots. Don’t you just love how the card turned out!

Happy Tails for Blog Post 1000

Today is a very special day it marks the 1000 blog post I’ve done.  When thinking about the stamp set I wanted to use for today, knowing how important are dogs are to us, we don’t have children, I thought using the Happy Tails Bundle was perfect.

Here is a picture of Nitro, he’s three and never stops, he always wants to play!

This is Diesel he is two and the calmer one, if only that would rub off on Nitro.

I’ve kept the card simple creating the background on Very Vanilla card stock by stamping the paw image first in full strength Early Espresso Ink, then again as a second generation stamp. One thing to remember when doing this, on images that go over the end for second generation stamping – ink the stamp, stamp first on scrap paper then on the good paper – to avoid shaded images. I’ve also stamped some Lovely Lipstick hearts to finish out the background for the card, which is matted with Early Espresso card stock on a Crumb Cake base.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Happiness Blooms for FabFri159

Happy Friday!  This week on Tuesday we celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary so today I’m taking the day off of work and we will be having breakfast at our favorite diner and doing some running around together, never know were we might go!

Today’s card is for the FabFri159 challenge, banner below. Click here to check out their blog and play along if you like.

For my card I decided on using a piece of the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper along with the Dot to Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The greeting is from the Humming Along Cling Mount Stamp set, part of a bundle that includes a stamp set and Hummingbird Framelit Dies.

Pulling the card together was rather easy, piece of embossed Daffodil Delight card stock matted on Night of Navy, along with a piece of designer paper matted as well. Before the designer paper piece as added with Stampin’ Dimensionals it was wrapped with a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Double Stitched Ribbon, the bow was added separately with a Mini Glue Dot once the greeting was adhered with Dimensionals. To get the mat for the greeting, I punched out a Pretty Label in Night of Navy, cut in half horizontally and adhered with liquid glue.

Bits and Pieces of Animal Expedition Suite

Tuesday was our 31st Wedding anniversary and I used bits & pieces from the Animal Expedition Suite of products to make a cute card for my husband.

To put the card together, I looked through my “bits & pieces” folder where I put die cuts and other pieces just waiting for a home and pulled out a variety of items including:

  • Die Cut animals
  • Share What You Love Artisan Pearls (only had a few left)
  • Basic Black Rectangle Stitched Die cut piece
  • Whisper White Stitched Shape Die cut piece
  • Some wooden “Frames Elements” that had been popped out and never used

The card base is Berry Burst, with Basic Black, Smoky Slate card stock acting as a mat for a piece of Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper. After some careful planning the layout for the “bits & pieces” was determined and using a combination of adhesives (Mini Glue Dots, Liquid Glue and both regular size & mini Stampin’ Dimensionals the card just came together. Greeting is from the Animal Outing Stamp Set and stamped with Berry Burst ink.

Have any scraps laying around?

If you are like me you have scraps of designer paper laying around wondering just what to do with it. Well I’m here today to show you an idea on how you can use up some of those scraps. Now get those scraps out and let’s get started!

My card is featuring pieces of the Garden Impressions 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper layered on a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White card. Depending on the colors of the papers used, pick a color to use for the card base and the scalloped oval mat. On the Stitched Oval Framelit, I stamped a few Mint Macaron flowers from Abstract Impressions Photopolymer Stamp set before adhering the Happy Birthday which is die cut using Calypso Coral card stock. I’ve also used a piece Calypso Coral 3/8″ Satin Ribbon.

While I used rectangular pieces of designer series paper, you could use strips or any size you have as long as once layering on the Whisper White you have a thin border around the edges.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Thought I would share with you the card I will be taking to the party we are going to this evening. Each year on St. Patrick’s Day our friends the Gilliland’s have a party that we attend.  We always have so much fun and the food is great, I’ll be taking my Green Pistachio Cake – a request from the host! Another part of the party is each year I take a St. Patrick’s Day card.

My card this year is made with Call Me Clover Designer Series Paper along with shamrocks and a greeting  from the Amazing Life Stamp Set.

There are two strips of coordinating designer paper, along with a Scalloped Circle and Stitched Shaped Circle Framelit used for the greeting. The shamrocks were stamped using Memento Black ink and colored with both the light and dark Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blend Marker then hand cut out with Paper Snips. The finishing touch is a matching bow with grosgrain ribbon.

Sunday Stampers March 2019

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!   This morning my Sunday Stampers will be meeting and I’m sharing with you the cards we will be making,

The first card is a Fun Fold Explosion card, we will be using papers from the Bright’s Collection, with a choice of greetings for the focal image on the front. Each person will get to pick the color of their choice so each will be making a different color – the stamping will be done in Memento Black Ink.

The second card features the Bloom by Bloom and Dandelion Wishes stamp set for the background and greeting. The mat is created by five different embossing folders strips on a Blackberry Bliss mat. This card layout is a great way to feature your five favorite embossing folders. Guess which ones I used?

Finally the third card features the Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder along with the Well Said Bundle from the Occasions catalog. The Well Said Bundle includes 51 cling mount stamps and 24 dies (Well Written Framelit Dies).  The ladies will be able to pick any wording and I’ll be showing them how to use adhesive sheets to make adding die cut words easier.

Water color with By the Bay

Do you like to color?

Today I have a card featuring  the By the Bay Sale-A-Bration stamp set, a cutout and some water coloring.  By the Bay is a six piece Cling Stamp set with three images and three greetings. The stamp set lets you think of the beach and relaxing summer days.

  • Stamp image in Staz-On Black Ink  on the bottom corner
  • Use Stitched Shaped Framelit (I used the largest oval, but any size/shape works) to die cut portion of stamped image
  • Use a variety of ink colors and your Aqua Painter to color die cut image
  • Using Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere paper which image was die cut from to the card base
  • Adhered colored image directly to the card base inside of the die cut area
  • Add banner with greeting

PCC329 – Happy Tails

Happy Friday! Any special plans this weekend?  We have a St. Patrick’s Day party Sunday afternoon/evening after stamping with my Sunday Stampers in the morning. I’ll be making my Pistachio Green Cake for the party as requested by the host. It’s a fun time and one of the few times throughout the year we see this group of friends.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge – PCC329, banner below. Click on the image to check out their blog and play along!

I’ve decided to use the Happy Tails Bundle, which includes the Happy Tails Photopolymer Stamp Set and Dog Builder Punch for my card.

The card base is Crumb Cake card stock as well as the piece used for creating the background for my focal image, which is mounted on Real Red card stock.  The Timeless Textures stamp set provided some of the background then stamped off versions of the bone in Early Espresso ink where stamped. There is a Night of Navy Scalloped Oval behind the Whisper White Stitched Shaped Oval. The dog house was stamped on scrap Whisper White, cut out with Paper Snips and adhered to the oval. The Real Red heart is punched out from the Dog Builder Punch and adhered with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional. The dog is Early Espresso, with Crumb Cake spots and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Ruff Ruff is in Night of Navy ink and adhered with 2 layers of Dimensionals to be the same height as the dog.   As an added bonus I created a Milk Carton Dog House to go with the card which is stamped with the Hardwood Background stamp before scoring and assembly. These are perfect for the dog lovers in your life – get your Happy Tails Bundle today!

Lemon Lime meets Blackberry Bliss

What a beautiful color combination – Lemon Lime  Twist and Blackberry Bliss! It’s a shame that Lemon Lime Twist will be going away when the new Annual Catalog starts June 1st, I’m sure I’ll find another color combo that speaks to me.

Lemon Lime Twist is one of the 2017-2019 In-Colors along with Tranquil Tide, Powder Pink, Fresh Fig and Berry Burst that will be retiring. You might want to stock on any of your favorites, including ink pad refills, during Sale-A-Bration when you can earn free product for every $50 USD spent.

Today’s card is rather simple, three strips of designer paper, matedt and adhered to the card base with liquid glue. Next, are Rectangle Stitched Framelits in Blackberry Bliss and Whisper White for stamping. The greeting is from the Amazing Life Stamp set, which is part of a bundle with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits. The stamped piece is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and accented with Glitter Enamel Dots.

Hint: When die cutting your rectangle framelits do it on an angle for easier cutting

Know any puzzle lovers?

Hope you are having a good weekend. Did you remember to change your clocks – we did and I’m looking forward to that additional daylight in the evening!

Today I have a great card for someone who loves puzzles in your life.  The Love You To Pieces Bundle, which includes the 10 piece stamp set and 3 piece Puzzle Pieces Thinlits Dies. The largest die is a 3.5″ x 3.5: puzzle which for my card was die cut from Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper, held together with Tear n’ Tape and matted on Mango Melody card stock. Before the mat was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals, using my Night of Navy Dark Stampin’ Blend Marker, I colored a piece of Silver Edged Ribbon to match the card base and adhered with Mini Glue Dots.  The Night of Navy card base is stamped using Night of Navy ink with some of the images from the stamp set. Greeting is stamped on Mango Melody, then die cut with the matching die, adhered with Tear n’ Tape and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

FabFri158 with Abstract Impressions

Happy Friday, any special plans this weekend? I’ll be delivering a workshop order, getting a manicure and making a corned beef & cabbage dinner. On St. Patrick’s Day we always go to a party at friends and the weekend before we have our corned beef & cabbage St. Patty’s dinner at home – I may even try it in my Instant Pot!

Today’s card is for the FabFri158 color challenge – banner below. Click here to check out their blog and pay along!

When thinking about what I wanted to do, I thought of the Springtime Impressions Thinlits that are part of the Abstract Impressions Bundle and my card idea came together rather easily.

  • Mat is Very Vanilla card stock, 4″ x 5.25″ run through the Big Shot using the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder – both vertical and horizontal for more of a linen look.
  • Greeting is on a .75″ banner in Mossy Meadow Ink
  • Metallic Pearls were used to highlight the middle of flowers and on the card base
  • Bow is Petal Pink ribbon from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack, other color in the pack is Shaded Spruce

#SimpleStamping Notecards

In preparing my card earlier in the week for the Paper Craft Crew #Simplestamping challenge,  I decided to also pull together a set of  four note cards just to show how easy gift making can be. Not every card we make needs to be complicated and for those times #simplestamping is perfect.

The Delightfully Detailed Note Cards & Envelopes (20 – five each of four designs) are perfect to create simple easy gifts along with a Memento Black stamp set and any stanp set – I decided on the Petal Palette, a set with a combination of greetings and images. While you are stamping your cards, don’t forget to add a matching image to an envelope for the perfect pair. With this note card/envelope set you can make five gifts!

Card #1 – Congratulations

Card #2 Life is So Much Better with you in it

Card #3 – Best Wishes

Card #4 – Thank you.

Take all four note cards with their matching stamped envelope and tie together with a piece of the Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon for the perfect little host/hostess gift!

Sale-A-Bration Product Update

Aren’t those frogs cute from the So Hoppy Together stamp set? Wish you had framelits to cut them out? This is your lucky day. . .

This is the first time during Sale-A-Bration (SAB) that Stampin’ Up! has introduced coordinating projects to go with SAB items. The Lily Framelits have been very popular with my stamping group. I’d recommend purchasing yours early before they run the risk of selling out. All coordinating products are available until March 31, 2019 or while supplies last.

Also Stampin’ Up! has added some items from the Annual Catalog along with the Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper to the $50 (USD) Sale-A-Bration item listing. Below are photo’s of the products along with a brochure you can download.

#Simplestamping for PCC328

Happy Sunday, the snow is just starting to fall here today, they say 1″ – 3″ and I’ll believe it when I see it – we never seem to get the amount of snow they say – not that I’m complaining.

How is your weekend going? Any fans of the soap opera General Hospital? On Saturday I did a GH Fantasy Weekend event and met 7 of the cast members, it was so much fun.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge PCC328 #Simplestamping. You might be asking what is #simplestamping – its ink – stamps – paper. All a person really needs is some paper, a stamp set & ink pads.  I’ve decided to use the Geared Up Stamp set, part of the Geared Up Bundle, for a masculine card for any occasion. Click on the banner below to check out the PCC blog and play along.

My card is clean and simple, just two layers a mat of designer series paper from the Classic Garage 6″x6″ Designer Series Paper and Whisper White card stock for the card base and main stamping space. All ink used on the card coordinates with the designer paper and layered in the bottom left corner with the exception of the greeting in Basic Gray at the top right. The card could be used for a variety of occasions based on what is then stamped on the inside.

Ink colors include:

  • Crushed Curry
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Tranquil Tide
  • Real Red (for the car of course!)

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Here are cards I’ve made with the Hop Around & Lily Framelits, the two sets I pre-ordered in February. Preorders are one of the perks of being a demonstrator, check my join the fun tab for details or this blog post.

The cards below are similar, but the one on the right has the new Lily Framelits for the flowers and the sentiment is also on one of the new framelits and is matted on the Pretty Label Punch.

For this card I used some of the new “Hop Around Framelits” with the So Hoppy For You Stamp set  in coordination with products from the Sea of Textures Suite and greeting from the stamp set Sitting Here.
