Cool Color Combo

So how was your weekend? Do anything fun?  My weekend was filled with food shopping, meeting with my Sunday Stampers and watching sports with my husband!

The other day I saw this color combo  and was looking at my stamp sets and thought why not put them together and make a card – so I did, here is that card.

First I stamped some leaves from Rooted in Nature in Melon Mambo, then stamped some more in Pumpkin Pie to create the background for my card, I’ve mounted this piece on Basic Black card stock – but before I did, I used the mat to die cut the tree from the Nature’s Roots Dies.  The die cut is adhered to the card front with Mini Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The Black Dimensionals come in a combo pack – 2 each of mini & regular and are great to use behind darker card stock.

The Melon Mambo frame is from the Ornate Frame Dies (part of the Monster Bash Suite), along with the Whisper White label.  Happy Birthday is from Seaside Notions and some retired Black Rhinestones finish off the card.

Don’t you just love this color combo, I know I do!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Sunday Stamper projects for Oct19

Today I’m sharing with you the cards my Sunday Stampers will be making this month. I’m featuring some of the stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog with products from the annual catalog as well.

One of my most favorite types of cards are shakers and when I saw the Still Scenes Bundle, I just knew we needed to make a Snow Globe at one of the gatherings. We will also be using the new Mercury Glass Designer Acetate Sheets as well as the Pigment Sprinkles from the Annual Catalog.

Here is the Snow Globe card featuring the Feels Like Frost 6″x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper, Still Scenes Bundle, Snow Globe Domes, Snowflake Sequins and Glitter!

I’ll be providing two samples using the Mercury Glass Acetate sheets. The backgrounds on both are created with Pigment Sprinkles, the ladies can either make a birthday or holiday card.

And finally a fun fold card that features the Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper, the hardest part of this card will be what side of the paper to use on each of the panels.

Here is another view of the inside of the card.

Christmastime is Here for PCC356

Happy Saturday and welcome to the weekend, it’s to be rainy here this weekend, so maybe I’ll do some Christmas crafting and make homemade vegetable soup – one of our favorites!

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Vertical Sketch Challenge, PCC356. Check out the banner below and click on it to check out their blog.

For my card, I decided to use the new Christmastime is Here Suite, which will be available to all customers starting Friday, November 1st.  The suite includes Specialty Designer Series Paper. 4 sheets of 3 designs – including gold foil in the designs, Stamp set that includes both a cling mount & photopolymer Distinktive stamps, Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, Gold Shimmer Ribbon and bracelet.

The card base is embossed with the Tin Tile 3D Folder, before the mat was added, which has a piece of the Gold Shimmer ribbon wrapped around it. Sentiment is stamped in Merry Merlot ink on a Whisper White Nested Label Die, also stamped with a pine cone. Four different sides of the designer paper are used, gold foil was used on one of the die to create a border on the left side of one of the papers.  The finishing touch are Gold Glitter Dots, who wouldn’t want to receive this card in the mail!

Christmas in October 2019

Happy Christmas in October – hard to believe there is only 2 months until Christmas.  Today I’m featuring four cards and a fun scrapbook.

Today’s first card is a Snow Globe – I just love Snow Globes!  This one features Copper Foil sheets and Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper.

This card is a preview of the Christmastime is Here Suite, available November 1st.  The stamp set, which is Distinktive also includes both a cling mount and photopolymer stamps. The paper has touches of gold and the enamel dots that coordinate with the suite add just the right amount of sparkle. Download the brochure detailed the suite here: ChristmasTime is Here Suite Brochure

Ornate Frame Dies aren’t just for Halloween.  I’ve teamed up an Ornate Frame die with Feels like Frost Specialty Designer Series paper for a clean and simple card. The photographic images on this paper make great card fronts!

A watercolor wash and Clear Wink of Stella help create this card.

Why not make a pocket size scrapbook for someone, either as a gift with pictures already inside or one like this, blank on the inside, where the recipient can fill with their own photos.

Here is the inside of the scrapbook, perfect for photo’s and other memories. This is a great size and perfect for any occasion!

Here is a side view of the scrapbook.

One of my favorite Holiday Designer Series Papers

All crafters seem to find favorite products when new catalogs come out and in the 2019 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog, one of my favorite designer papers is the Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper.  There are beautiful photographic imagery on one side and hand-drawn designs with silver foil on the other, 48 sheets – 4 each of 12 double sided designs in 6″ x 6″ size.

With the photographic images you can easily create simple holiday or any occasion cards, just cut the paper to size and add a sentiment or die cut to the image. Below some of the cards have larger images while other have 3″ wide images (2 from each page) on the cards. Each card uses Thick Whisper White card stock for the base  and either ¼” thick strips of card stock or mats to highlight the image.

I’ve teamed up the images with sentiments from Itty Bitty Christmas or with Merry Christmas Dies for holiday cards.

This card features an image paired with the Merry Christmas Dies and Night of Navy card stock, a perfectly simple and easy card.

another using the Merry Christmas Dies.

The next two cards feature greetings from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp set – another must have in my book.  There are 18 stamps in the set and even comes in bundle with the Christmas Layers Dies.

Add a decorative border for added interest.

Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper does not just need to be just for the holidays, it pairs nicely with the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set for numerous occasions. For the cards below, 3″ strip of designer paper with ¼” strips of paper on either side.

Gold & Plaid for PCC355

Welcome to the weekend. It’s been a few weeks since I played along with a card sketch challenge so I thought today was the perfect day to start! I’ve missed doing the PCC challenge so I thought that was a perfect way to start.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Horizontal Challenge – PCC355, banner below, click to check out their blog and play along.

Today I received my Stampin’ Up! order which included the new Hammered Metal embossing folder and I wanted to use it with some color of foil sheet and since there is gold in the plaid paper thought they were the perfect products to use.

Here is how I put my card together:

  • Shaded Spruce card stock base
  • Gold Foil embossed with the new “Hammered Metal” Embossing Folder
  • Wrapped in Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper for the rectangle, square & banner
  • Pine Tree Punch from same designer paper
  • Shaded Spruce & Gold Striped Ribbon for the bow
  • Greeting from Two stamps from the set “Itty Bitty Christmas” – cut into thin strips and added with mini glue dot
    • Very Merry!
    • Happy Christmas (cover the Happy with tape, inked the stamp, took off the tape & stamped)

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Painted Harvest with “Cotton Balls”

One of the new items in the Holiday Catalog is “Snowfall Accents Puff Paint”,  which is used to easily create 3D effects and add texture to card stock. To use the puff paint, you apply the paint to the project, heat set with your heat tool and watch it puff before your very eyes!

I’ve been using the paint on Santa quite a bit, but when looking through my fall themed stamp sets, thought the images used on the card below where perfect for the puff paint.

This card is featuring the Painted Harvest stamp set, from the annual catalog, along with a sentiment stamped on a Ornate Frame Die. The card base has been embossed with the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder and layered with 2″ wide pieces of Come to Gather Designer Series Paper. The image is stamped in Memento Ink on a Thick Whisper White rectangle die cut from the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  Image is colored using a variety of Stampin’ Blend Markers – Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Mint Macaron and Daffodil Delight.  Puff Paint was added the “cotton balls” after the image was die cut and colored and heat tool used to make it “puff” – watching this change from a liquid to the final puff state is so cool to watch, just like embossing powder!

Sprinkles anyone?

When my Sunday Stampers meet later this month we will be using the new Pigment Sprinkles from the Annual Catalog on one of the cards we will be making.

What are Pigment Sprinkles you ask? they are watercolor pigment crystals. Mix them with water to make backgrounds and washes and other watercolor techniques. The package includes one each of six colors:

  • Bermuda Bay
  • Daffodil Delight
  • Granny Apple Green
  • Gorgeous Grape
  • Mango Melody
  • Melon Mambo

While working on my card for class I created a few different backgrounds using both Watercolor Paper and Shimmery White card stock. To create the backgrounds, I sprinkles different colors on both watercolor & shimmery white card stock then lightly spritzed with water, letting the paper dry naturally. I did dab up some excess water to prevent pooling on the paper.

After looking at the pieces I decided on the cards I’m sharing with you today.  First is a fall themed card using the smaller leaf from the Seasonal Layers Dies, Shimmery White card stock was used for the leaf’s. To make this card, I started with 2 circles from the Layering Circle Dies to create a form to layer the leaf’s on. Some of the leaf’s are adhered with liquid glue, others with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, the entire wreath is adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Night Before Christmas Designer Paper was used for the mat and the bow is from the Come Gather Ribbon Combo Pack.

This card is using Watercolor paper and the Well Written Dies. For added depth, happy birthday is two layers – Grapefruit Grove on Blackberry Bliss, the color used for the card base.  One thing I learned when making these backgrounds, look through your card stock you just might surprise yourself on what colors look good since the Pigment Sprinkles mix together.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

How to feature Designer Paper on your cards!

Today I thought I would share with you a card making idea featuring Designer Series Paper for the main element of the card. I’ve made two samples to show how the idea can be used for any occasion.

Here are the basic measurements so that you can start making cards like this:

  • Card stock Card base – 4.25″ x 5.5
  • Designer Series Paper – 4″ x 10.5″, scored at 5.25″
  • Inside card stock 3.75″ x 5″

The first card features products from the Monster Bash Suite. I just love the Ornate Frame Dies, they aren’t just for Halloween! I’ve used the Spooktacular Bash Bundle, Monster Bash Designer Paper, Enamel Shapes and Basic Black Scalloped Ribbon. With the ribbon I wrapped a piece around the designer paper, then added the bow with a glue dot so that I did not tear the paper.

Inside of the Halloween card, which features strip of designer series paper and some of the cool Monster Bash Enamel Shapes.

For this card I decided on the Garden Lane Designer Paper and some of the fall inspired stamp sets – Gather Together (holiday catalog) and Painted Harvest (annual catalog) for a card to let someone know you care. Mint Macaron leaf is 2nd generation stamping with the sentiment full strength Cajun Craze ink.

Here is the inside of the fall inspired card, just wanted for kind words.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Brunch and Tags at Susie’s !

Happy Sunday!  One of my Sunday Stampers, Susie, is having  a Halloween Brunch and tag making event today so I thought I would share the tag I’ve made for the event.

All attendees will be creating either a WOW tag or two simple tags, bring supplies for the group to make their tags and when we all leave we should have at least 10 tags for future use!

I’ve opted for a WOW tag featuring dies from the Snow Globe Scenes Dies, the Still Scene Stamp Set and greeting from Itty Bitty Christmas Greetings.

Here is what I used:

  •  Crumb Cake tag with greeting and image stamped in Crumb Cake ink from Still Scenes Stamp Set
  • Pool Party Dome
  • Night of Navy and Silver Foil base
  •  Shaded Spruce trees
  • Soft Suede deer
  • Gold Foil Church
  • Sparkle Glitter Polar Bears
  • Entire unit adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the tag
  • For the tag hole I used a standard hole punch, then punched the hole out with a 3/4″ Circle Punch for a reinforcement piece  for the hole (put one on both side)
  • Retired Night of Navy Twine used for the tie

This image would also look great as a Snow Globe card.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting.

World Card Making Day!

Happy World Card Making Day!

The first Saturday of October each year has been designated World Card Making Day, a day for all the crafter out there to make a card or two or many to send and share with family and friends.

Today I thought I would share with you one of my favorite types of card – a shaker card, using the dies from the new Still Scenes Bundle from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog. The bundle includes the Still Scenes Cling Stamp Set and Snow Globes Scenes Dies. Since this is October I thought a Halloween card was perfect. I’ve matted a piece of Monster Bash Designer Series Paper on Very Vanilla Card stock, then used the top of the snow globe die to die cut the “globe”, added the snow dome (they have adhesive all ready on them), filled with sequins from my stash, added another piece of designer paper to the back, then adhered the entire unit to the Soft Suede card base.

Base of the globe is Pumpkin Pie card stock with Silver foil die cut layered on top. For a more “spooky” look I’ve used a sponge dauber to add some Staz-On Black ink to the silver foil as well as long the edges of the card. To finish the card is a greeting from Itty Bitty Greeting in black on Very Vanilla card stock strip.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Fall colors for birthdays!

Boy has the weather been all over the place, the first weekend of September was cool and rainy  and not able for me to be in the pool and the last weekend in September was warm enough for me to get into the pool for about one hour each day – who would have thought that would be possible, definitely not me – guess we will need to close it soon as we end up each day with more leaves in the pool than on the trees. Closing the pool is always such a sad day for me!

Today I thought I would share two different birthday cards made with “fall” colors.

For both cards, the sentiment is from the Beautiful Friendship Photopolymer Stamp set – the first card also uses the images in the stamp set along with fall color ink pads – Mossy Meadow, Poppy Parade, Merry Merlot and Crushed Curry.  The stamped unit is matted on a piece of designer series paper from the Night Before Christmas package.

For this card, the color scheme is similar – Garden Green, Merry Merlot, Pumpkin Pie & Crushed Curry ink, but the images are from the Gather Together Photopolymer Stamp set. With this color scheme, I believe this can be used for both men & women. I’ve also stamped a few images on the inside.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!
