Garden Impressions for PCC308

Today was a sad day, if you follow me regularly you know over the summer I really enjoy my pool time on the weekends and this afternoon we closed the pool.  The cover is on and it’s taking its nap until May 2019! The positive thing about a closed pool is that hopefully I should have more time to craft on the weekend.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch challenge, check out their blog here.

My card features dies from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits, part of the Abstract Impressions Bundle. I started by die cutting the largest image, cutting it apart and sponging So Saffron over part of it as the background for the focal image. The mat and focal image consists of pieces of Garden Impressions 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and Shaded Spruce Card stock. Flower, in Calypso Coral, is from the same Thinlits set, adhered with Mini Glue Dots and a Faceted Gem in the center. Greeting is from Itty Bitty Greeting. A few more Faceted Gems help finish out the card.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try paper crafting and stamping.

Using postive & negative die cuts

When you die cut letters for a project do you think of using both the positive & negative space to create cards?

Today I’m showing how using the same design along with positive & negative die cuts to create my cards.

I’m featuring:

  • Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper
  • Large Letter Framelits
  • Glitter Enamel Dots
  • Colors: Gorgeous Grape – Granny Apple Green and Mango Melody

The first card uses the die cut letters and Glitter Enamel Dots to create the card.

Here’s a card using the negative spaces to create a shaker card using Halloween sequins from my stash.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try paper crafting and stamping.

Spooky . . . Boo . . . eeeek!

The September Paper Pumpkin Box has been extremely popular and extra boxes/supplies will go on sale, September 24th, while supplies last. I normally do not have many Halloween stamps, so I thought I would make a card featuring stamps from the kit and holiday catalog.

Here’s a close up of the Halloween card featuring stamps from the September Paper Pumpkin kit used for the mat. Bulbs are from the Making Everyday Bright Photopolymer Stamp set, which coordinates with the Making Christmas Bright Bundle.  The Spider Trinket is hanging on a piece of Linen Thread, with a double thread bow topping it off!

Here’s the September Paper Pumpkin Box (normally they are Pumpkin Pie in color) and one of each treat bags I’ve made. The balance will be used for treats for some random acts of kindness throughout my travels.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try paper crafting and stamping.

PCC307 Inspiration Challenge

Hope you are having a good weekend, the first weekend of fall here in Southwestern Pennsylvania is definitely fall like. Friday was in the mid 80’s, sunny and I was in the pool, now it’s 70 during the day and close to 50 at night, the weatherman/woman could  not have planned it any better. Just don’t as me about Pumpkin spice!

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge, you can check out their blog here.  I really had a tough time coming up with what to do. I don’t have any cup stamps, so I put my thinking cap on and here is what I came up with.

To create my card, I started with a piece of watercolor paper, sprinkled with Brusho colors – Gamboge (orange), Moss Green and a little Yellow and spritzed with plain water, dabbing off any excess with a paper towel. Next in a Stampin’ Spritzer I mixed plain water with a few drops of Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint and spritzed over the entire piece of watercolor paper for a subtle shine.

Greeting is from Beautiful Bouquet Photopolymer stamp set on the smallest Stitched Shapes Oval Framelit and layering on ovals from the Layering Oval Framelits in Calypso Coral and Old Olive card stock. Card base is Very Vanilla and the mat for the watercolor paper is Old Olive. Metallic Gold Thread as some dimension behind the scalloped oval.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try paper crafting and stamping.

Simple on Saturday

Happy Saturday,

Today I thought I would share with you a card that is simple to make and only takes a few products:

  • Happy Birthday Thinlit
  • Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
  • Tufted Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
  • Card stock (I used Very Vanilla and Coastal Cabana)

The mat of the card is double embossed, first with the Subtle DTIEF the with the Tufted DTIEF, don’t forget to spritz the card stock lightly with water before running through the Big Shot for a deeper impression. I’ve adhered the mat with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Happy Birthday with the Fine-Tip Glue pen.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try paper crafting and stamping.

Happy 16th Birthday Maya!

Happy 16th Birthday to our favorite niece Maya, hope you have a great birthday today!

Here is a picture from 2014 of Maya and I during one of her visits. The t-shirts are ones that the 24/7 Stampers wore at the Stampin’ Up! Convention that year and knowing Maya’s love of crafting I had one made for her!

Here is the close up of the box and card we sent her for her birthday. The box was made with paper from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper and tied with retired Whisper White ribbon. The card features products from the Garden Impressions Suite of products. The Happy Birthday Thinlit was cut in two so that the words could be separated once three layers of card stock where stacked together using the Fine Tip Glue pen.

Here’s the card opened up, it’s a card on a card.

Side view of the card, large numbers used are now retired.

Inside of the card, corners where punched using the Detailed Trio Punch and flowers stamped from Abstract Impressions. Greeting from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try paper crafting and stamping.

Wreath from Jar of Love

Today I thought I would share a card I recently made using the Jar of Love stamp set. I’ve bee making quite a few holiday and fall card and needed a break.

This card features a card base and mat of Pear Pizzazz card stock. The mat was run through the Big Shot using the Hexagon Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Don’t forget when you use a Dynamic folder to spritz the paper with a mist of water for a deeper impression before running it through the Big Shot.

I had an extra Shaped Seasons Whisper White die cut on my desk and used that to anchor the wreath. The wreath was made using two Layering Circle Framelits and a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.

The flowers in the stamp set are two step stamping and I’ve used Crushed Curry as the base color then either Blackberry Bliss or Cajun Craze for the 2nd stamping. The leaves are Pear Pizzazz and a couple Blackberry Bliss. A multiple thread bow adds the finishing touch!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try paper crafting and stamping.

Sept18 Sunday Stamper Projects

Today my Sunday Stampers are meeting and we will be making our first projects using new holiday products.

The projects we are making today feature two of my must haves from the catalog:

  • Takeout Treat Bundle – great for a variety of holiday!
  • Santa’s Workshop Suite – the cutest figures ever and the framelits match both the stamp set & specialty designer series paper (it has flocking!!!)

First is the Halloween Take out Treat box with Spider Charm and matching note card, altogether you use one piece of designer series paper 6″ x 12″ for both with a Whisper White Note card & envelope.

How about a quick and easy “bridge card” that folds flat and fits into a standard medium envelope featuring Signs of Santa Bundle.

If you are looking for a quick and easy method to create some holiday cards, try the Santa’s Workshop Memories and More cards along with the matching Poppy Parade envelopes. Add some Garden Green Bakers Twine, Enamel Shapes or Red Rhinestones to create some quick cards.

Clean & Simple using new Merry Christmas to All Bundle

Today I thought I would share a few Clean and Simple Holiday cards made with the Merry Christmas to All Bundle from the 2018 Holiday Catalog. Here is what the bundle looks like.

Merry Christmas to All Photopolymer Stamp set – Say Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Christmas, and much more to your loved ones. With this set, you can say it all! There are 28 photopolymer stamps.

Merry Christmas Thinlits Dies – Create die-cut holiday greetings in record time with Thinlits dies and the Big Shot. Total of 6 dies – Largest die: 4-1/2″ x 1-3/16″. Use with Big Shot.

The four word dies are:

  • Merry
  • Christmas
  • Happy
  • Holiday

Think of the possibilities – Merry Christmas, Happy Christmas, Happy Birthday (just use a stamp set you already have), Happy Holidays, Merry & Bright, Holiday Cheer (just cut away the ‘s’ in Holidays) – just the beginning of the combinations!

My first card features a piece of the  All is  Bright Designer Series Paper and coordinating All is Bright Paper Clips.

All three cards have the same stamped inside greeting, just in colors to match the card.

This card uses non-traditional colors Smoky Slate & Basic Gray paired with a piece of Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper and some metallic pearls.  Image from the stamp set was used to create the border around the card base using Smoky Slate. Greeting and mat are both Basic Gray.

The final card features shades of blue – Balmy Blue & Pacific Point. Happy Holidays was die cut using a Silver Foil sheet and the snowflakes are from Seasonal Layers Thinlits using the new Sparkle Glimmer Paper, rhinestones add the final sparkle!

Hint: when using foil papers, use a new clean cutting pad on the top to avoid little “bumps” on the die cut.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try paper crafting and stamping.

Wild About You !

One of my favorite bundles in the Stampin ‘ Up! 2018-2019 Annual Catalog is Animal Outings, today I thought I would share two cards I’ve made using this bundle.

First is a card with a Whisper White base that I attached a piece of the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper to the front of. Next is a piece of vellum card stock with a strip of designer paper backed with Lemon Lime Twist card stock. For the greeting I stamped and punched it out using the Everyday Label Punch and then punched a label out in Berry Burst, cut it in half and adhered to the greeting piece using liquid glue then to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the second card I used two banners (2″ and 1½” wide strips of designer series paper), adhesive backed sequins and leaves from the Frames Elements to sit a water-colored Rhino on. For the Rhino I used Basic Gray ink on water-color paper colored with Gray Granite and Calypso Coral ink using a Aqua Painter.  Greeting is stamped in Calypso Coral on a 1″ Very Vanilla banner with the sequins as the bling!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try paper crafting and stamping.

In-Colors for PCC306

Rain, rain, go away and come back another day . . .  While unfortunately area’s of the country are doing without rain, it started here early Saturday morning and as of Sunday night it’s still raining, without a break – even the dogs don’t want to go out other than to do what’s needed, let’s just hope the creek at the back of the yard can handle all the rain or we will have a lake back there!  They say the rain will stop late Monday, let’s hope they are right.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge PCC306, check it out here.

Here is how I created my card featuring the In-Color 2017-2019 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and ‘Happy Birthday’ from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp set.

I’ve used all five In-Colors, starting from the bottom up to create the focal image to match the design in the banner above.

  • Fresh Fig
  • Tranquil Tide (Stampin’ Dimensionals behind this layer)
  • Powder Pink (used for card base and a mat for the Whisper White card stock)
  • Berry Burst
  • Lemon Lime Twist (Stampin’ Dimensional behind this layer)

The greeting was stamped in Memento Black on Powder Pink and I used the Tailored Tag Punch for the banner end on the right side and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Whisper White was run through the Big Shot using the Subtle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A few Share What You Love Artisan Pearls finish off the card.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try paper crafting and stamping.

Harvest Blessing with Tin Tile

Today I’m featuring another card using products from the Country Home Suite. This card is using the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder along with the Galvanized Metallic Paper for a tin ceiling look.

Here is how I made the Harvest Blessing card:

  • Very Vanilla Card base – 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”
  • Strip of Country Lane Designer Series Paper – 2” x 5 ½”
  • Piece of the Galvanized Metallic Paper 1 ¾” x 5” run through the Big Shot using Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder – then brushed with some Staz-On Black Ink using a Sponge Dauber, this gives an older weathered look to the paper, adhered with Stampin’ Dimensional’s.
  • Watercolor paper 2 ¼” x 3 5/8”
    • Stamp image using Staz-On Black Ink, make sure dry before starting to color
    • Use ink pads and Aqua Painter filled with water to color image
    • Use Trio Punch to round the corners
  • Adhere to card (Stampin’ Dimensional’s are on the right side, Mini Glue Dots on the side hitting the embossed paper
  • Very Vanilla banner ½” x 4” stamped in Basic Gray & Crushed Curry (second generation for lighter image), banner cut the ends

Here is how I made the card:

Welcome to the Holiday Catalog and Signs of Santa !

Today’s the day the 2018 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog goes live!

When I first looked through the new 2018 Holiday Catalog, I fell in love with the Santa’s Workshop Suite. There are quite a few products in this suite and today I’m featuring the Santa’s Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper and a greeting from the Signs of Santa stamp set, which is part of the Signs of Santa Bundle, ’tis the Season greeting is from Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.

One of the nice things about the bundle is that the framelits not only cut out stamped images but images from the matching designer paper as well. The specialty designer paper has white flocking on the playfully designed pages. The two cards below came together rather easily using the designer paper, along with die cut images. For sparkle, I used the new Sparkle Glimmer Paper for the snowflakes and the 2″ Circle Punch and long with the Starburst Punch to pop up Mrs. Claus. Santa is sitting on the largest layering circle and a vellum banner.

For the inside of the cards I’ve used die cuts of Santa and Mrs. Claus, all depending on who was on the front of the card.

Take some time to look through the items here.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try paper crafting and stamping.

Sweet Simple 4″x4″ Card

Earlier in the year when I was picked to be a display demonstrator for the April Onstage event in Atlanta one of the products I was sent was the Spot of Tea Framelits, without the stamp set I decided to use the layering circles to create the background for the greetings. Today’s card features those layering circles.

The card is 4″ x 4″ square (4″ x 8″, scored at 4″) and fits nicely in a standard medium envelope. There is a mat of Basic Black card stock layering under a square of Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper and strip of coordinating paper. Both circles are die cut and stamped with a greeting from the Waterfront Photopolymer stamp set. To finish off the front is a fussy cut flower from a scrap and some leaves die cut in designer paper using the Petals & More Thinlits.

Inside of the card has the largest circle die in Whisper White, stamped with greeting from Picture Perfect Birthday Photopolymer stamp set and a couple fussy cut flowers.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try paper crafting and stamping.

Sponged background for Dandelion Wishes

Happy Saturday, welcome to the weekend, any special plans for the last “official” weekend of the summer. We are definitely having summer weather here with temperatures in the upper 80’s/low 90’s and humid (not to good for my hair, if you know what I mean).  I’ll be making a red-white-blue cake today for a party on Sunday along with getting a manicure and pedicure, now what color should I pick?

Today’s cards feature the stamp sets Dandelion Wishes for the images and Colorful Seasons for the greetings. To create the backgrounds I used Post-It note tape ripped to create a border and then color added with sponge daubers, just make sure to work from the outside in for a crisp edge.

For the first card the background is Balmy Blue, with image in Blueberry Bushel and greeting in Lovely Lipstick.

For this version of the card, I used a horizontal layout and the background is a mixture of the colors below with Memento Black for the image and greeting.

  • Balmy Blue
  • Grapefruit Grove
  • Petal Pink
  • Powder Pink
