Fun Folds, always Fun!

How about some Fun Fold cards? Aren’t they fun to make.  A few weekends ago I participated in an Online event and here are two of cards from the event. I’ve used products on hand and hopefully they are still available (they were when I wrote this).

First, a full sheet of card stock with some scores and cut out areas create this card.

Products used include:

  • Brewed for You Bundle
  • Delicate Desert 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper
  • Dry Brushed Metallic 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper
  • Layering Circle Dies

Looks just like a normal side fold card, but with a flap over the front.

The second “Fun Fold” is actually two cards put together, outside card opens to the right and inside card to the left. By the Bay designer paper and the Seaside Bay Bundles used on the card. Deckled Rectangle Dies created the windows.

Hope you can see the two different cards here. Greeting is stamped on the inside, were the two cards are joined.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope these projects have inspired you to try paper crafting. When you decide to place an order for Stampin’ Up! products, I would appreciate your business.

Countryside Corners

Happy Saturday, today I have another sneak peek for you from the 2023-2024 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.

For demonstrator pre-orders, we are given a limited selection of products to order from and this is one of my favorites when I first looked at the catalog.

I’m featuring the new Countryside Corners Bundle along with the Countryside Inn 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.

Countryside Corners Bundle includes a large stamp and set of 7 dies.  While it’s hard to see in the photo, I’ve stamped the image in Boho Blue and Misty Moonlight ink, die cut three images and layered them up.  Boho Blue 3/8″ Textured Ribbon has been added and even a knot tied on.  Sentiment is from the Circle Sayings Bundle I featured last week.

Next Saturday I’ll be featuring the some of the new upcoming colors.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope these projects have inspired you to try paper crafting. When you decide to place an order for Stampin’ Up! products, I would appreciate your business.

Embossing Folder Technique

Today I’m sharing a “New to me” technique using an embossing folder.

Here is what I did:

  1. Piece of Basic White card stock cut to size (3¾” x 5″ and 4″ x 5¼”)
  2. Randomly add colors using Blending Brushes (saving a dark color for the accent)
  3. Run the colored Basic White piece through your Die Cut Machine using an embossing folder – DO NOT have the Stampin’ Up! logo facing you – you want it on the bottom – you are going for the “debossed” image.
  4. Add a dark color over the top directly by using a stamp pad. You want to drag it across lightly. May need to do a few times for the desired shaded.
  5. Like magic the colors you added “pop” off the paper.
  6. Adhere to card base, add sentiment and you’re done!

Below uses the Fern 3D Embossing Folder and the colors Lemon Lime Twist (returning), Granny Apple Green, Garden Green and Shaded Spruce.

Finally, the second card, I’ve used the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder from the upcoming 2023-2024 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. Color include Balmy Blue, Tahitian Tide, Azure Afternoon (new) and Blueberry Bushel (returning).  Look for the new and returning colors May 2, 2023.

April Sunday Stampers

Today I’m sharing the cards my Sunday Stampers will be making later today.

The second card is Triple Layer Designer Series Paper card. Purpose of this card was to use up some of my retiring designer series paper, my card uses Lovely Linen 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.

Final card is a top corner fold request by one of my Sunday Stampers, Sue.  Download the project sheet for all the measurements.

The sentiment and all stamped images are from the Circles Saying Bundle #161355. The bundle is a photopolymer stamp set and 2 3/8″ circle punch. Sentiment image is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Card base is Copper Clay. I’ve also used the new 2023-2025 In-Color 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and In-Color Dots.

How about a fun card featuring the Sweet Citrus Bundle.

Colors include Garden Green, Crushed Curry and Orchid Oasis.

I’ve stamped images around the edges of card base for added depth using tone on tone with Garden Green.

Next, mat Tea Boutique Designer Series paper on Basic White card stock. Add die cut and embossed fruit. Make sure you use one color for the outline images and another for the inside of the fruit. Don’t you just love these Hybrid Embossing Folders?

Orchid Oasis stamped flowers and leaves along with Iridescent Gems add the right amount of sparkle!

Floating Strips = 2 cards

Today I’m sharing a Floating Strips card, where you get 2 cards from your focal image.

Here’s how to create the focal image:

  • Strips of various colors of card stock or even designer series paper
  • Piece of Window Sheet, my card used a 3¾” x 3¾” square
  • Add the strips (use seal+ or tear & tape) of paper to the window sheet, leaving a small space between each
  • Now pick a die cut shape and die cut from the middle (may need to make a few passes to get a good cut since window sheet and card stock layered together)
  • Add die cut shape to one card front and negative space to another card base either directly or with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Add die images and greeting to finish the card

The first card using the negative space for the background with a palm tree and grass die cuts added. Any greeting works with the card. I recommend using a dark ink that coordinates with the die cuts.

For this card I’ve added the circle die cut to a Thick Basic White card base and seashells. Images stamped using the Friends are like Seashells stamp set and Seashell Dies.

Lattice Card

Today’s cards are a preview of one layout I’ll be using for my Sunday Stampers when we meet later this month – a Lattice Card. The layout looks hard, but is easy to make. If you’re not comfortable eye balling, then grid paper can be used.

I’ve used die cuts I had from the Hello Irresistible Designer Paper and Share a Milkshake Bundle for the cards. Pretty Peacock ink (coming May 2, 2023) used for the sentiment.

Here’s the measurements:

  • Card base 4¼” x 11″, score at 5½”
  • On one half of the card base, cut off 3¼”
  • Cut 5 strips ½” wide (horizontal strips)
  • Cut remaining piece of card stock in half (vertical strips)

I’ve found it easier to add the vertical strips first, then just “eye ball” the horizontal strips and add with a little drop of liquid glue. Start with the bottom, top, then middle strips.

Second card uses the Share a Milkshake Bundle to create ice cream bowls to add to the card front. Can’t forget the cherry on top!
