Simple Scrapbook for True Friendships and my Cruise

Happy New Year’s Eve!

Today I thought I would share with you a simple scrapbook I made over the weekend with some photo’s I had from events over the last couple years. The book is made mainly with 2 pieces of 12″ x 12″ designer series paper – just make sure they coordinate.

Here is what the inside looks like with pictures from a girls trip to Nashville, monthly high school graduates dinner and pocket with a few different photo’s including a Christmas party photo.

Here is another view, including a dinner with Stampin’ Up! friends:

Here are the basics on how to make it, including a photo (just make sure you start with 2 pieces of paper the same size.  For the large book above I used 2 – 12″ x 12″ paper, for a smaller book (below) I used 8″ x 8″ paper.  Any designer series paper will work for this project, I used what I had on hand.

  • Fold one piece of paper in half horizontal, then vertical
  • Cut away the top left square
  • Bottom left folds in
  • Top right will fold down
  • You may need to trim an additional sliver of paper to get a neat fold
  • Use Detailed Trio Punch to round corners if desired
  • Cut mats from other piece of designer paper (for 12″x 12″, you can to 5.75″ x 5.75″ or 5 7/8 x 5 7/8″, your decision)
  • Make a pocket if you like to add additional photo’s or even hold a smaller book

Here is the first scrapbook I made using photo’s from my September cruise:

Tags – Tags – Tags

Did you happen to overlook the Tags Tags Tags Bundle which includes the Tags Tags Tags Photopolyer Stamp set and the Trio of Tags Dies.  No matter the occasion or season, this bundle can be used to create tags for your projects.

One unique item with this bundle is that there are 3 stamps in the set – one for Halloween, Christmas & Valentine’s Day, each with 3 tags and the die cuts all 3 tags at one time!

For my cards today, I’ve used my Stamparatus to stamp multiple images on the front of all my cards, using tone on tone, tags are all Whisper White with coordinating images die cut and added to the tags.

The first card is using the Christmas stamps with Pool Party Card stock and ink, tag is stamped in Pool Party with a Silver Foil Snowflake and Linen thread bow over the tag hole.

Here is the card for Valentine’s Day using Blushing Bride Card stock & ink, the tag is stamped with Melon Mambo ink and has a Melon Mambo Heart adhered with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.

Here is the card from Halloween I forget to post, I used Basic Gray ink and Smoky Slate card stock for the card and added Pumpkin Pie Pumpkins and a Linen thread bow.

I need a break from Christmas

I need a break from Christmas, seems like all I have been doing lately is making Christmas cards.

Today I thought I would share a simple card I put together using the Floral Essence Stamp Set and 2019-2021 In-Color Rococo Rose.

My card starts with a card base 4.25″ x 11″ and before I score at 5.5″, I like to stamp my images.  This is when having the Stampin’ Up! grid paper really comes in handy, I can judge where the 5.5″ score will be and I prefer to make sure my stamping goes over where the score line will be. Greeting is also from the Floral Essence stamp set, stamped in Rococo Rose on Whisper White, punched out with the 2″ circle punch and layered on a Silver Foil Starburst, adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and some Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

Here is the order of my stamping:

  1. Largest outline flower
  2. Largest outline leaf
  3. Solid flower
  4. Small outline leaf
  5. Center circle

Mercury Glass Acetate Cards

Did you happen to purchase the Mercury Glass Designer Acetate, if so, I have a standard A2 (4.25″ x 5.5″) card and 3″ x 3″  card project for you today.

The Mercury Glass Designer Acetate sheets feature a silver faux mercury glass finish on acetate sheets, they come 4 sheets, 2 each of 2 designs and are 12″ x 12″ in size.

For the front of the card, I’ve used three of the Stitched Rectangle Dies for the Cherry Cobbler, Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper and Very Vanilla card stock to create the layered piece adhered directly to the card front. Pine Tree Punch was used to create the tree using the same paper collection and is adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Added a few rhinestones for bling.

Here is a picture of the inside, where I’ve attached designer series paper on the back of the front portion of the card base and used Cherry Cobble & Very Vanilla for the inside.  For the side with the greeting, I’ve stamped the greeting in Cherry Cobble on the Very Vanilla which is then adhered to the Cherry Cobble Rectangle (same size as the Cherry Cobbler on the front), hold this piece behind the front unit, add adhesive to the back of the Cherry Cobbler card stock and press down on the back of the card, you want the front & inside pieces lined up together.

For the 3″ x 3″ card below, which starts as a 3″ x 6″ piece scored at 3″, uses a Cherry Cobbler 2 1/4″ Circle and Very Vanilla 2″ circle on the front and inside.

have some scraps, I have an idea . . .

How’s your week going?  My day job is keeping me rather busy, to help me relax, I set a bunch of designer series paper scraps on my desk and thought about what can I do with them, today’s card is the outcome of that. I’ve made quite a few cards that has left me with 1/2″ or 3/4″ wide strips, in looking at them I thought wouldn’t they make a nice background for a card front.  Basically all I did was adhere the strips to a piece of card stock, then added that to the front of my card, trimming off any excess and not worrying about the direction of the paper.

Card Recipe:

  • Thick Very Vanilla Card base 4.25″ x 11″, scored at 5.5″
  • Piece of card stock (I used one that coordinated with the scraps) 4.25″ x 5.5″
  • Strips of designer series paper, mine are 1/2″ or 3/4″ wide and various lengths
  • Ribbon, to wrap around front (including the inside) and for a bow
  • 2 1/4″ circle
  • 2″ circle for greeting
  • Rhinestones for Christmas bling!

Now, I’ve used strips for my card, why not use a combination of left over shapes, squares, rectangles or even circles in various sizes – think I just might to try these idea’s as well.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Something to keep in mind, the item number for each bundle in the 2019 Holiday Catalog is being retired (the bundled pricing goes away) at the end of the catalog period. As such, you’ll see bundles (like the Still Scenes Bundle and Harvest Hellos Bundle) in the Retiring Favorites list – but that doesn’t necessarily mean the products (like the stamps and dies for these bundles) are retiring.

Perfectly Plaid December

Hard to believe it’s December 1st, just 24 days until Christmas, where has the time gone!  I’ve been working on a few projects for gifts thi8s weekend and now I’m going to sit back, relax and enjoy my Sunday.

Stampin’ Up!’s Year- End Closeout is almost here! Starting December 3rd and while supplies last, you can save big on a selection of retiring and surplus items including holiday catalog items, stamp sets and Paper Pumpkin past kits. Supplies are limited and popular items will sell out quickly. I’ll post details on Tuesday once they are available.

Today I thought I’d share a fun card featuring prints from the Wrapped In Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper, keep in mind, this layout can work with any paper pack.  Card base is Thick Whisper White and greeting is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on regular Whisper White.

Recipe for the designer series paper – cut a piece 4″ x 5 1/4″, then on the 5 1/4″ side, cut at 3″ – use one piece for the top and the other for the bottom, then cut a 1/2″ piece 4″ long and adhered over the seam, wouldn’t a gold foil sheet strip look great as well. I’ve punched three trees, two are adhered directly to the card and the third is adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
