Cheerful colors with Abstract Impressions

When thinking of a card to make for today I decided to look through my stamp sets for one I have not used in a while and came across the Abstract Impressions stamp set.  I knew I wanted to make a bright and cheerful card featuring the 2018-2020 In-Colors since I used the new 2019-2021 In-Colors on Tuesday – need to show both color groups some love.

Here is how I put my card together:

  • Soft Suede card base
  • Soft Suede die cut from Springtime Impressions dies, adhered directly to card base with liquid glue
  • Call Me Clover Stitched Nested Die (adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Whisper White Stitched Nested Die stamped with images from the Abstract Impressions Photopolymer Stamp set and adhered directly to the Call Me Clover die.
    • Pineapple Punch with Grapefruit Grove
    • Lovely Lipstick
    • Call Me Clover
  • Sentiment in Soft Suede ink, die cut with a Stitched Rectangular Die, matted on Soft Suede card stock and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots in the center of any flower center that shows.

I just love adding the die cut directly to the card front for added depth and interest on the card.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

In-Color Dandelion Wishes

Today I’m featuring two cards made with the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set in Rococo Rose & Pretty Peacock, two of the 2019-2021 In-Colors.

The first card is simply a mat & stamped unit die cut from the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  The card base is Rococo Rose card stock, with coordinating mat and stamped image. The designer paper is from the 2019-2021 In-Color collection. All layers are adhered directly to the card base.  The sentiment was stamped three times using the Stamparatus for deep coverage.

My card featuring the In-Color Pretty Peacock, is a little more stepped up.  The mat is created using the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. used with the new 3D Embossing mat (the new 3D folders are thinner & this new mat is thicker) and Whisper White Craft Ink. Once I embossing the Pretty Peacock card stock with the embossing folder, I used Whisper White craft ink to highlight the lettering. To do this, I also inked a Stampin’ Spot with the Whisper White ink refill and gently brushed it against the paper, this way if there is any color transfer from the paper, its on the spot and not the main ink pad.  This card also has a piece of the Scalloped Linen In-Color Ribbon wrapped around the mat, adhered in the back with Mini Glue Dots.

Both cards have three 2019-2021 In-Color Faceted Dots for bling!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Merry Christmas in August!

Merry Christmas in August to all!  This month I went through my current stamp sets and picked out a handful to use and pull together some quick and easy holiday cards.

The first two cards this month feature the Rooted In Nature Stamp set and coordinating Nature’s Root Dies.  For the card on the left I used the leaves to create a poinsettia and on the right, the evergreen trees, including matching dies are used for a winter forest scene.  Greetings are from Itty Bitty Greetings and Merry Christmas to All.

Who says Magnolia’s need to be white, for this card I’ve used Real Red Stampin’ Blend Markers to color in both the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper and Gold Metallic Ribbon. Don’t have Real Red markers – use Cherry Cobbler, or any color you like.  Greeting is from the First Frost Stamp Set.

These two cards feature the Making Christmas Bright stamp set along with the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch. You can punch images with card stock like I did, or stamp then punch as well. The string of lights has been colored by a variety of Stampin’ Blends Markers.

The final card features the To A Wild Rose Bundle. While looking through my stamp sets for this month, I thought the sentiment – Blessed – was perfect for the season. Images are stamped and color moved around with an Aqua Painter filled with water.

If you are interested, please download the instructions on how to make these cards here: CardandCraftswithKaren Christmas in August 2019′

Purchase any of the stamp sets used above between August 25 – September 24, 2019 and I will send you a gift valued between $5-$8 as a thank you!

Daisy Lane meets Magnolia Lane for PCC348

Happy Saturday, welcome to the weekend!

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch PCC348, banner below, check out their blog and play along.  As I looked at the sketch I knew I wanted to use the Medium Daisy from the Daisy Lane Bundle and since I had come scraps from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper thought why not marry the two together for the card.

  • Greeting stamped on Whisper White in Early Espresso Ink and punch out with Pretty Label Punch
  • Punch two labels with Mossy Meadow card stock adhere to the back of the sentiment piece, adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals

FabFri170 Color Challenge

Happy Friday!  Any special plans for the weekend? I’m starting my weekend  a day early as I’m on vacation today, hopefully getting some crafting in, then Dan & I are meeting up with folks I went to high school with and going to the Pittsburgh Pirate Baseball game. Each month, the last Wednesday of the month, there is an open invitation to anyone who graduated from North Hills High School Class of 1976 to meet for dinner – we like to think of it as making new old friends. Tonight there should be about 25 in the group at the game!

Today’s card is for the FabFri170 Color Challenge, you can see their banner below with the color selection, check out their blog here.

For my card I decided on the Beautiful Friendship Photopolymer Stamp set to create the focal image & greeting. The card has a Blueberry Bushel card base and mat of Call Me Clover which is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals, Noble Peacock Rhinestones add just the right amount of bling to provide the finishing touch.

  • Petal Pink – filler flowers
  • Grapefruit – main flowers
  • Call Me Clover – leaves
  • Blueberry Bushel – greeting

Paper Pumpkin for PCC347

Hi there, how is everything going with you? We had a nice weekend here, spent some time both Saturday and Sunday in the pool and my Sunday Stampers met and we made the projects you saw yesterday featuring the Magnolia Lane Suite.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch challenge, PCC347, check out the banner below and their blog here.

So, I had a really tough time deciding on my card for this challenge, after a few definite fails, I decided to work on my August Paper Pumpkin Kit when I realized one of the cards that is part of the Add-On Bundle “Gift of Fall” would be perfect!

If you are not familiar, Paper Pumpkin it’s a monthly subscription where you received a box each month with a fun paper crafting project. Check out my Paper Pumpkin page for more details.

With the August kit that did something different. The kit is fall decorated gift bags with tags and Stampin’ Up! is offering a set of cards with matching envelopes that coordinate, they even give you enough embellishments in the kit to use on the cards.

I used the card base that has a watercolor wash background look and used a variety of the embellishments to complete my card, so how did I do?

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Aug19 Sunday Stamper Projects

Happy Sunday, today my Sunday Stampers will be meeting and I thought I would share with you the projects they will be making.  Each person will be making a card box and three cards, all featuring the Magnolia Lane Product Suite. The question is – which of the cards below will they be making? Everyone in attendance will be receiving a project sheet for all the cards below to show the versatility of the suite.

Here is the card box we will be making using two pieces of Mossy Meadow card stock and designer series paper. You can close the box with a belly band, magnets or even Velcro dots. The box will hold multiple cards and envelopes, the number of cards depends on the thickness of the cards.

The first card features designer series paper to create the card base, not card stock!

Here I’m showing an example using the edge die included in the Magnolia Memory Dies. Greeting is from Beautiful Day Cling Mount stamp set.

Here we have a vertical orientation gate fold card with belly band and water colored magnolia with some Clear Wink of Stella.

Here is the inside of the card, I used the Stamparatus for all magnolia stamped images to make sure I get a good solid image. This is extremely important when water-coloring or using Stampin’ Blend Markers to color the image.

Another fun fold using a piece of 8.5″ x 11″ designer series paper and some tags.

How about a horizontal based gate fold card.

Up close of the inside and belly band.

Card with flower using the dies included in the Magnolia Memory Dies.

Fun Fold Designer Series Paper card:

Normally only newsletter members receive the project sheet, but this month since it’s a Suite based class, thought I would share with everyone. To download the project sheet, just click here: August 2019 Cards and Crafts with Karen Sunday Stamper Cards

Don’t forget to use your bonus codes this month you earned in July.

Remember my July vacation & the beach

Todays’ card takes me back to my vacation at the end of July when I went to visit my brother and his family in New Jersey.  For part of my awesome trip the five of us took at trip to Wildwood – a place were my family went for summer vacations for as long as I can remember. We also ate at the “Original” Hot Spot, took a ride on the “Tram Car”, ate fudge came from Laura’s & taffy from Douglas Candies – places we still need to go! Below is a picture from dinner Friday night at Urie’s – my brother Mike, nephew Jake, sister-in-law Diane, niece Maya and me!

The stamp set Seaside Notions, pairs nicely with the Under the Seas Dies to create a really cute card. Images from the stamp set were stamped in Memento Black ink, colored with Watercolor Pencils then very carefully blended using a Blender pen before being cut out using Paper Snips. The Coastal Cabana card base was first stamped tone on tone with an image from the stamp set, layered with a Basic Black circle and net from the Under the Seas Die before the shells, sand dollar and sea horse where added, some with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Noble Peacock Rhinestones and some Clear Wink of Stella add the right amount of bling to the finish off the card.

Garden Lane Designer Paper

So how was your weekend, we sure had a busy one. Friday night plans changed slightly when my husband took a tumble, thankfully the only thing injured was his pride, Saturday I spent the day prepping for my Sunday Stampers this coming weekend and finally on Sunday was able to enjoy some pool time and we went to the church festival in the evening!

Today I’m featuring some of the papers in the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper pack – shades of green, including:

  • Garden Green
  • Mint Macaron
  • Mossy Meadow
  • Pear Pizzazz
  • Soft Sea Foam

There is a piece of designer paper adhered directly to card base, layered with a piece die cut using a Stitched Rectangle die that has a card stock scalloped edge piece attached.  The scalloped edge comes from the largest scallop square from the Layering Squares Dies, just use a scrap to die cut this. I’ve also used the Nested Stitched Label Dies for the greeting piece. There is a mat of Mossy Meadow layered with a Whisper White label, stamped with flowers from the Varied Vases Photopolymer Stamp Set and greeting from the Colorful Seasons Photopolymer Stamp Set. The bow is Pineapple Punch grosgrain ribbon.

Thinking of my cruise for the PCC346 Color Challenge

5 weeks from today I’ll be on my way to my first cruise which provided the theme behind today’s card!

When I saw the colors for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge PCC346 Color Challenge, my first thought was a bright & cheerful beach scene. Beach scene makes me think of my upcoming cruise and my recent trip to New Jersey including Wildwood with my brother & his family!

Here is how I put my card together:

  • Card base is Basic Black card stock
  • Thick Whisper White is 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″, with the largest Nested Label Die, centered and die cut
  • The negative piece is attached to the base with lots of Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Die cut piece has been inked using Sponge Daubers, I started with Blueberry Bushel for the water, then Granny Apple Green for the land – blended into the water. Next I added a little Poppy Parade on the horizon, followed with Pineapple Punch to finish out the sky. Then I blended the colors together a little to vary the colors.
  • Palm Trees and grass is from the Friend Like You Photopolymer Stamp set, stamped in Memento Black Ink
  • Piece was then adhered directly to the card base with liquid glue, adding dimension
  • Banner is from the stamp set, adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional on the dove tailed side and a mini glue dot on the left.

Relaxing beach for FabFri169

Happy Friday!

Today’s card is for the FabFri169 sketch challenge.  Before we move on to the card, I need to tell you a quick story.  Last weekend while floating in the pool I came up with a card idea using a circle and the chair from the Seasonal Layers Dies – when I came in the house I remembered to check the FabFri blog for the new challenge and I could not believe it – the sketch went perfectly with my card idea so off to crafting I went!  The sketch is below, click on the image to check out their blog.

My card is the perfect thinking of you card to let someone know you miss them, Here is how I put my card together:

  • Card base is Soft Suede
  • Mat is a piece of Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper
  • Largest Layering Circle Die in Whisper White that has been stamped with images from the Waterfront Photopolymer Stamp set
    • sand and water are 2nd generation stamping (ink stamp, stamp on scrap then on good card stock)
    • Palm trees are full strength ink
  • Chair is from Seasonal Layers Dies in Soft Suede
  • Two strips of designer series paper are layered on the bottom
  • Strip of Whisper White has “Miss You” die cut from the Well Written Dies

Highland Heather #2

In looking for another idea for a “purple” card – I decided to go through my stamp sets and picked an oldie but goody – Beautiful You. It’s been around for a few years and I thought it was perfect for purple birthday week.

As I mentioned the other day my sister-in-law Debbie’s favorite color is purple and this week I’m sharing two “purple” cards in honor of her birthday week!

Here is how I put this card together:

  • Highland Heather card stock base
  • Gorgeous Grape card stock mat
  • Whisper White for stamped image piece
  • Greeting and the dancer image are stamped in Memento Black ink
  • Crumb Cake ink was used to “ground” the dancer – don’t want her dancing in space do we?
  • While I used the dancer, any image from the stamp set would look nice
  • Ivory Stampin’ Blend Marker was used to color her legs & arms
  • Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend Markers (light & dark) was used to color her hat & dress
  • Finishing touch are three Gorgeous Grape Glitter Enamel Dots

Hope you enjoyed my “purple” cards this week, if not a fan of purple – any color can be used!

Magnolia’s don’t need to be white!

I’m sure you have been seeing lots of cards made using the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle (Good Morning Magnolia Cling Mount Stamp set & Magnolia Memory Dies) and they have been with white flowers – well I’m switching it up this week.

My sister-in-law Debbie’s favorite color is purple and I thought in honor of her and it being her birthday “week” I would use a variety of purples for this card.

Here is how I made the card:

  • Gorgeous Grape card stock base
  • Highland Heather mat, embossed with the Scripty 3D embossing folder
  • Largest Nested Label Die – Vellum card stock
  • Thick Very Vanilla was stamped with largest Magnolia in Memento Ink
  • Flower is colored using the Highland Heather & Old Olive Combo Package Blend Markers
  • Do the embossing & die cutting with your favorite machine
  • Happy Birthday is from the coordinating “Magnolia Blooms” Photopolymer Stamp set, stamped on Very Vanilla using Gorgeous Grape ink and fussy cut out using Paper Snips
  • Flower & words are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Finishing touch are a few rhinestones from the Noble Peacock Collection
  • This layout would be great in any color, what color would you pick?

Sailing Home Card Box and matching cards – Part 2

Yesterday’s blog post included a card box and three cards made from products from the Come Sail Away Product Suites.  today I’m sharing with you how each card was made.

The first is Monochromatic – tone on tone – in Balmy Blue.  The card base is 4.25″ x 11″, scored at 5.5″.  Very Vanilla card stock was used for the mat on the front. All images and greeting are stamped in Balmy Blue ink. The water image is from the High Tide stamp set, all other images are from the Sailing Home Stamp set, part of a bundle with the Smooth Sailing Dies).  The lighthouse was stamped then die cut and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The next card features the colors Mossy Meadow, along with Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake.  Images from the stamp set where stamped on card base using Mossy Meadow ink.  There are two pieces of designer series paper (3″x 4″) each matted on Very Vanilla to the card base – one directly on the card front and the other with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Wheel, Anchor & Rope are images die cut in Crumb Cake – both the wheel & rope have embossed details on them. Greeting is die cut using a die from the coordinating die set. Anchor is adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final card is a mixture of die cut and textures for an “under the sea” look.  Card base is Early Espresso, mat is Very Vanilla. Images are die cut and adhered using liquid glue, glue dots and Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Inside of the card has a Very Vanilla panel stamped with the rope image from the stamp set.

Sailing Home Card Box and Matching cards – part 1

Happy Saturday, hard to believe a week ago at this time I was in Wildwood NJ riding a bike on the boardwalk with my brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew. It was the first time I’ve rode a bike in quite a few years, while I did not last the entire 90 minutes, I enjoyed my time on the bike!

In honor of my vacation in NJ last week today’s post is cards with a matching box from the Come Sail Away Suite. This suite includes:

  • Sailing Home Stamp Set
