Not just for Christmas

Whimsy & Wonder Suite, it’s not just for the holidays.

One of the nicest things about Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper (which is two-sided) is that in most cases, one side of the paper is more holiday/occasion specific and the other is neutral.

Today I’m featuring two cards using the same layout and papers, just both sides of the designer paper.

First up is the holiday card:

Next, is the birthday card, all I did was turn the paper over and use a sentiment from another stamp set.

Here are the specifics on the cards:

  • Thick Basic White Card Base
  • Mint Macaron mat 4″ x 5¼”
  • 2 Pieces of Designer Series Paper – 1¾” x 5″
  • Vellum card stock die cut, I used die from Hippo & Friends
  • Just Jade die cut tree and Silver Foil die cut tree, from Whimsical Trees Bundle
  • Add trees to vellum, then vellum to card front, this helps hide adhesive on the vellum
  • Use Stampin’ Dimensional’s on any layer
  • Add sentiment & gems of your choice

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope these projects have inspired you to try paper crafting. Should you decide to place an order for Stampin’ Up! products, I would appreciate your business.

November Stamper Cards

Happy Tuesday, so are you ready for Thanksgiving? have any shopping you need to do?  I’ll be getting our pie from Costco today, they made a wonderful pumpkin pie.

This month due to scheduling my Sunday Stampers could not meet in person so I’ve made cards for the ladies who placed orders with me this month as a thank you and will be getting them out this weekend.

My first card features some of the products from the Eden’s Garden product collection.

Card specifics:

  • 3 pieces of designer paper matted on opposite color from card base
  • Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen card stock
  • Gold Vellum die cut
  • Label dies cuts in both colors from the Ever Eden Cotton Paper with Basic White label on top
  • Sentiment from the Eden’s Garden stamp set

For my second card I’ve used Gold Foil with the Edgelit and a piece of the designer paper layered on Soft Succulent card stock for the front of the card.

Other specifics:

  • Any of the images can stamped on the mat
  • Remember to stamp before adding the Gold Foil and designer paper
  • Tailor Made Tag for the sentiment (mine is from Biggest Wish stamp set)
  • Simply Elegant Gold Trim for the bow, added with glue dot

Finally the last card is based on one from a demonstrator workshop I participated in earlier this month. Focal image is 1″ strips of paper added to a 3¾” x 5″ mat of Basic White card stock, added to a Thick Basic White base.

I’ve switched up the die cut, sentiment and ribbon for a fun and easy Christmas card.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope these projects have inspired you to try paper crafting. Should you decide to place an order for Stampin’ Up! products, I would appreciate your business.

Congratulations!

Today I’m sharing a card using the Eden’s Garden Bundle for a congratulations card I’ve sent to two good friends!

I’ve teamed the bundle with the Blackberry Beauty 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper.

The sentiment was stamped on Very Vanilla card stock, die cut and I’ve added a second die cut using Gold Foil which ties into the designer paper and Simply Elegant Gold Cord Trim used as an accent.

Below is a look inside of the card.

Did you notice how I used the edge die on the layer of Very Vanilla on the inside?

Merriest Moments Birthday

Today one of my Sunday Stampers mom’s turns 80 years young.  To mark the occasion she is hoping to have 80 people sent her mom birthday cards and I’m sharing the one I sent with you today.

Happy 80th Birthday Janet!

My card features the Merriest Moments with Hybrid Embossing Folder Bundle. It’s not just for Christmas and makes great birthday cards.

Some specifics about the card:
  • In-Color Pale Papaya Vellum was used for the Embossed/Die cut image
  • Die cut image was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensional’s
  • Cinnamon Cider mat is embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Folder
  • Poinsettia’s have Elegant Faceted Gems for center
  • Mint Macaron card stock card base
  • Greeting from Biggest Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set

For the sentiment section, once stamped, I added to the vellum die cut piece.

Next, turn the vellum piece over and added the Stampin’ Dimensional’s to the back, under the where the Basic White card stock was added (this hide’s them).

When I first received the bundle, I totally missed the cute little flowers you could die cut. The flowers make great accents, especially with a piece of the Sale-a-bration paper I still had laying around.

I sure hope Janet likes the card.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Should you decide to place an order for Stampin’ Up! products, I would appreciate your business.

As part of the Spectacular, there was an option to participate in a card swap and today I’m sharing my card, a fun fold.

Here are some specifics for my card:

  • Pool Party card stock base 4¼” x 11″, scored at 5½”, then 2¾” cut from one of the side
  • The piece cut away is used as a mat, layered with designer series paper 2½” x 4″, Basic White card stock die cut from either Scalloped Contour Dies or the Stitched So Sweetly dies
  • Greeting is from Biggest Wish Stamp set in two coordinating colors, one light, one darker
  • Fold and burnish the card base, add designer series paper 2½” x 4″
  • Once the designer paper is adhered, wrap around ribbon and tie in a knot

When creating the tuck corner, cut a 2″ square on the diagonal, add Mini-Stampin’ Dimensionals on the outside, then to the card front. Make sure the Basic White 4″ x 5¼” card stock has been adhered first. Adhere a Bumblebee with a mini glue dot.

Hey Birthday Chick!

Did you remember to turn your clocks back an hour? Don’t know about you, but I would rather have light in the evening vs. the morning.

I needed a change from the Halloween, Fall and Christmas cards I ‘ve been making and decided to make a bright and cheerful birthday card featuring the Hey Birthday Chick Cling Mount Stamp set and Birthday Chick Dies.

For the inside I’ve added a few “party” chicks and a few greetings, including a piece to write your wishes on.

Finally, I’m sure you are wondering how I did the inside, well here goes:

  • 5¼” x 10″ piece of designer paper scored at 2″ – 3′ – 4″ – 5″ – 6″ – 7″ – 8″
  • Start with a valley fold then, fold and burnish all score lines
  • Adhere the left side, making sure border on top, bottom & side are close to the same size
  • Fold the designer paper, add adhesive and close the card base
  • When adding die cut and sentiments they should not be longer than 2″, dry fit before adhering to make sure they don’t stick out the side when closed

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope these projects have inspired you to try paper crafting. Should you decide to place an order for Stampin’ Up! products, I would appreciate your business.

Center Step Fold Card

Today I have another sample for you using the Eden Garden Designer Series Paper teamed up with the Biggest Wish Photopolymer stamp set for a Center Step Fold Birthday card.

Card measurements:

  • Card base – 5½” x 8½”
  • Basic White card stock – front piece 2¾” x 3″ and piece of the back of the card 2¾” x 4″
  • Designer Series Paper – ¾” x 5 ¼” and 2 pieces 1″ x 3″
  • Scraps for stamping and die cutting
  • Embellishments of your choice

Instructions for cutting:

  • Line the 5½” side of the card stock at the 1¼” mark on the top of the trimmer, then with the bar down on the trimmer use that ruler and cut from 1″ to 5¼”. Move the cardstock to the 4-1/4″ mark at the top of the trimmer and repeat the same cut lines. There should be two cut lines on each side of the cardstock.
  • Turn the cardstock to the 8½” side. On the edge of the cardstock where the lines are close
to the end, score at 1″ on each side of the cut lines. Do not score the area between the cut lines.
  • Score at 2″ only on the sides of the center, at 4¼” ONLY in the center, not on the sides and finally at 5¼” only on the sides.
  • I know it sounds scary, but it’s easier than it sounds.
