Bye Bye Bella & Friends

Today I thought I would share another stamp set I’m sad to see retire – Bella & Friends, as the dog mom of two German Shepherd I always love stamp sets with dogs.

For my first card I kept it simple:

  • Crumb Cake card base
  • Basic Black Mat
  • Classic Garage Designer Series Paper Mat
  • Layering Circles, including a scalloped circle in Basic Black
  • Burlap ribbon
  • Bella is colored with Stampin’ Blends Crumb Cake and Lovely Lipstick

For my 2nd card I used a Smoky Slate card base 4.25″ x 11″, scored at 5.5″, folding at the side. I’ve cut 1″ from the front end and added a 2″ strip of Blueberry Bushel Designer Series Paper on the inside for added dimension to the card. The card base is stamped with the Cracked Paint Background stamp in the same color for tone on tone. Bella is stamped in Memento Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends in Smoky Slate, Dark Crumb Cake and Night of Navy, Greeting is on the smallest Rectangle Stitched Framelit die cut using Thick Whisper White.

Here is a close up of the front of the card, the focal image is in the bottom left corner, with about the same border on the right and bottom. Silver Metallic Pearls finish off the card with some bling, subtle enough for a man or woman.

Varied Vases for PCC334

Happy Friday, it’s going to be a rainy and soggy here today, guess that means the boys will be in the house for most of the day today, don’t need to be cleaning muddy paw marks tonight, hopefully you are having nicer weather where you are.

My card for today is for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge PCC334, click the banner below to check out their blog and play along. I’ve missed a few challenges over the last few weeks, but wanted to take time today to thank the team at PCC for picking my cards for PCC330 and PCC331 as Top Picks!

For my card I used the three colors in the banner:

  • Lemon Lime Twist (for a couple leaf’s)
  • Coastal Cababa (vase & flowers)
  • Poppy Parade (vase, flowers & to create outline on the card base)
  • Mystery Color = Gorgeous Grape (vase & flowers)

Did you know that Coastal Cabana, Poppy Parade & Gorgeous Grape are all from the Brights Collection?  That’s what made it easy for me to pick the additional color.

The ledge and greeting are both stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and a few sequins add a little bling!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Dear Doily don’t go . . .

atleast until I get to buy the stamp set!

Today I’m featuring the Dear Doily stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! 2019 Occasions catalog. Originally this stamp set came as a bundle, unfortunately the dies have sold out and the stamp set will be retiring at the end of May 2019.  This is a great stamp set for #simplestamping – stamps, ink & paper. For the first card today I’m using three colors along with Whisper White for my card: Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo and Coastal Cabana, don’t the colors look wonderful together!

Each layer is 1/4″ smaller than the first and the greeting is on two layering circles mounted on a Starburst punch in Melon Mambo. To add some bling to the card are some Glitter Enamel Dots on the Gorgeous Grape & Melon Mambo doilies.

For this card I went with Crushed Curry and Basic Black, a classis combination if you are from Pittsburgh and a sport fan of the Penguins, Steelers and Pirates – all whom team colors are Black and Gold (shades of yellow). All the doilies are stamped in Crushed Curry and the flower was stamped in Memento Black ink, Basic Black Shimmer ribbon was wrapped around before adhering and a bow, attached with a mini glue dot, finishes the card.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Ready for the beach?

Hi there, hope all is well with you and that you had a nice Easter or Passover. It’s been about a week since I last posted, sorry about that. Life got in the way and I hope to be back in the swing of things.  Since we last spoke I’ve made a deposit for my first cruise ever!

In honor of that I decided to make a card using the Photopolymer Stamp Set Waterfront, which is being carried over to the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. The ribbon I used is however retiring, it’s Pool Party 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon.

Here are the stats for the card:

  • Crumb Cake Card base
  • Crumb Cake mat run through the Subtle Embossing Folder
  • Pool Party Layering Scallop Edged Square
  • Whisper White Stitched Shapes Square
  • Ink for stamping:
    • Sahara Sand
    • Pool Party
    • Daffodil Delight
    • Real Red
    • Granny Apple Green
  • Greeting is from Thoughtful Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set (retiring)

The stamped focal image was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals once the ribbon was adhered, you can do that with either Snail Adhesive or sone Tear n Tape. When adhering the image I added a few Dimensionals on the edge of the ribbon to make sure it stayed in place

April 2019 Sunday Stamper Projects

Hi there, hope you are having a good day so far. Saturday here was beautiful, I finished my prepping for today’s class and enjoyed the warm sunny weather. My husband even did some yard work.

Today I’m sharing with you the projects my Sunday Stampers will be making today.

The first card we will be making features the Brush Colour Crystals. Wendy, the host for the day has asked about these and how to use them. I’ll be demonstration some techniques and they will each get to make two panels, one they can add to their card and the other to take home and make a second card with.

This next card features the Humming Along Bundle and the Lace Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder. The ladies will be watercoloring either the flower or hummingbird from the stamp set, with one of a variety of colors.

The final card we will be making is a “Man” card using the Geared By Garage Bundle, each person has different piece of the Classic Garage DSP for their card and I’ve die cut gears from a variety of card stock for them to use.

Here is a look at the inside of the card, I’ve stamped the car in Real Red and stamped “Happy Birthday” at the top from the Amazing Life stamp set.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Changes coming to the way we craft . . .

Happy Saturday.

This week, Stampin’ Up! announced some decisions that will change the way we craft – and I’d like to explain them. Today I want to share a little bit about those changes and what we can all expect in the coming months as we transition to the new catalog June 4, 2019. Remember change can be hard, but also very exciting!

Small Price Increases on Select Items:

The company has always taken a conservative approach to raising prices, delaying price increases for as long as they can taking into various considerations including supplier costs and market comparisons. When the cost of supplies goes up, though, it’s sometimes necessary to pass along some of those increases to customers and demonstrators.

Here’s the good news – the increases are relatively small – most increases are between $0.25 and $1.00. If you’d like to peruse the list, please click, Price Change List USA, to download the list.

Stampin’ Trimmer is Retiring:

As of June 3, 2019, Stampin’ Up! will discontinue selling the Stampin’ Trimmer – including all replacement cutting blades (scoring blades and cutting mats have already sold out). The company has experienced challenges with the supplier and is taking the opportunity to research and explore a replacement option for this product. This makes room for something even better! I can’t wait to see what they design and produce.

When the retiring list goes live on April 15, the order limit for the blades will increase from three to six (and the limit will remain at six until they’re no longer available). From now until September, we will receive intermittent shipments from the supplier. Throughout these months, we anticipate times when the blades will not be orderable (and not offered as a backorder).  I’m excited about the opportunity to purchase a better product.

Big Shot & Accessories are Retiring:

One of the biggest and most exciting changes is this – Stampin’ Up! is making changes to our die-cutting and embossing product line that will give us a better opportunity to support the long-term vision of the product line. What does that mean? Stampin’ Up! will be retiring the Big Shot and changing manufacturers for the dies and embossing folders.

That doesn’t mean we won’t have dies or embossing folders. While Stampin’ Up! won’t have a Big Shot in its product offering next year, the company will offer new dies and embossing folders starting with the 2019–2020 Annual Catalog.

Since we’re using a new supplier (moving to a direct-to-manufacturer relationship), the dies and folders will be manufactured in a different way – but not so different that we won’t know how to use them. Both the new-style and old-style dies and embossing folders can work with any die-cutting & embossing machine.

To allay your concerns a bit, here’s what the change in dies looks like:

Old Style Alignment:

New Style Alignment:

The only difference is that the current dies cut right along the edge of where you place them – you can see the white border you are cutting. With the new style, you place the dies right along the stamped edge. You will still get the beautiful, white border – you just won’t see it when you place the die over the stamp.

Here’s a Q&A if you’d like to learn more about this transition: 03.19.19_DIE_LINE_TRANSITION_EN

The replacement cutting plates are already fully discontinued.

Retiring List – April 15 – The retiring list (for ALL products in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and 2018-2019 Annual Catalog) will be published on April 15 at 1:00pm MT. Keep in mind inventory on some retiring dies may be depleted before the end of the 2019 Occasions and 2018–2019 Annual Catalog sales period; we will not replenish inventory on any retiring dies and folders that sell out. Inventory on some dies and folders carrying over into the 2019–2020 Annual Catalog may be depleted; if this happens, they may go on backorder or may not be available to order until we have replenished the inventory.

Thank you for taking time to stop by today, hope you found this information helpful and not to scary.

Have a great rest of your day and come back tomorrow to see the projects my Sunday Stampers will be making.

Floating Frame Cards

Have you seen the new rage in card making? They are called “floating frame” cards.  This past weekend I took some time to jump on the bandwagon and created my first two cards using this technique. If you are interested in try to make one check out the YouTube video by Jennifer McGuire, she has a great video explaining the technique.

Here is the short version of the technique.

  • Die cut a variety of images, coloring them in desired
  • Arrange on a piece of card stock
  • Use piece of Glad Press and Seal (from the grocery store) to hold die’s in place (pressing gently)
  • Die cut a shape out of the center
  • Remove card stock backing gently
  • Add Dimensionals to the “frame” and adhered to card base or another piece of card stock
  • Ending result is that the frame (card on left) has a frame that looks like it’s floating

This is the first “floating” frame card I made, in the open spaces I added Pearl Embellishments for a girly look. The sentiment on the front of the card was stamped on a Rectangle Stitched Shaped framelit and is from the Waterfront Stamp set. Since I had an extra bird, I stamped some leaves on the inside and added the bird – don’t forget about the insides!  So what month with my Sunday Stampers be making this card? Stay tuned.

The card below was made using the piece that was die cut from the card above. All I did was mat the die on Old Olive Card Stock and add to a Whisper White card base. The Facets Dots embellishments include some in Basic Black and since I seemed to have a bunch of those, I added them.  Sent with Love is from Itty Bitty Greetings Cling mount stamp set.

Floral Thanks for PCC332

Happy Sunday, hard to believe in two weeks it will be Easter, where has the time gone? Just think in a couple months summer will be here. We had a beautiful day Saturday, I was able to sit on the sun porch and catch up on watching YouTube video’s enjoying the warmer weather.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch challenge PCC332. The banner for the sketch is below, click on the image to check out their blog and play along if you like.

For my card I started with a piece of Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper and stamped on it using Smoky Slate ink with the Crackle Paint Cling Background stamp, since the paper has a light pattern stamping over it just adds another level of interest.  Using the Rectangle Stitched Shaped Framelits, I die cut three and backed them with Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo and Pineapple Punch card stock. The stamped flowers in matching ink are from the Beautiful Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp set.  Next, I adhered some Tranquil Tide card stock to a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive sheet and using dies from the Well Written Framelits die cut the flourish and thanks. For finishing touches to the card, I added butterflies in matching colors, and Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Beautiful Bouquet for FabFri160

Happy Friday! How was your week? Mine was rather busy at work, but I still managed to make time for crafting. While some people may say coming up with a card design is stressful, I find it rather relaxing. Any special plans this weekend? Our Saturday dinner out last weekend was cancelled due to illness, hopefully we can do it tomorrow.

Today’s card is for the FabFri160 challenge which features four beautiful spring like colors, see the banner below. Click on the banner to check out their blog and play along if you like. There are so many fun possibilities with these colors.

For my card I stamped and die cut a variety of flowers from the colors above with the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp set and matching Bouquet Bunch Framelits to create this beautiful bouquet. Some flowers are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals while others are adhered with liquid glue for depth on the card front. Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins add just the right amount of sparkle. A few strands of linen thread created the bow which was attached with a mini glue dot on top of the tiny tag from Bouquet Bunch Framelits.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Fond farewell – #simplestamping

Each month Stampin’ Up! give us demonstrators a challenge for #simplestamping (stamps – ink – paper).

Here are the creative parameters for April’s #simplestamping challenge:

  • Theme: Any occasion
  • Supplies: Stamps, ink, and paper.
  • Twist: One of the retiring In Colors has to be featured in some way.

For my card I decided on the Daisy Delight Stamp set featuring Daisy’s stamped in all the retiring In-Colors and a sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set, a personal favorite. I did step the card up a bit by adding 1/4″ strips of copper foil sheets, which pairs nicely with the Fresh Fig card base.

In case you are new to Stampin’ Up! in each annual catalog (available in June), there are five colors, called In-Colors, that retire and five new colors take their place, while we know the colors that are retiring – any guesses on possible new color’s? How about another shade of purple or blue???

Retiring colors are:

  • Lemon Lime Twist
  • Tranquil Tide
  • Fresh Fig
  • Powder Pink
  • Berry Burst

My card is simply five daisy’s stamped and punched out, adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and adorned with a Clear Faceted Gem, This card would be easy to mass produce and perfect for a variety of occasions.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!
