Happy Thanksgiving !

Tomorrow here in the United States  it’s Thanksgiving, don’t know about you but I will be working on preparations for tomorrows meal this evening, cutting and chopping away. All my shopping is done and now the cooking begins.

For those interested about Thanksgiving:

  • Thanksgiving is on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States
  • A day for giving thanks for the blessings of the harvest & the preceding year
  • Annual tradition in the United States since 1863
  • Most notably Americans call Thanksgiving the start of the “Holiday Season”
  • Thanksgiving is celebrated both with family and friends.
  • One of the most famous traditions is the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York City

My card for today features some of the products in the Come to Gather Suite from the 2019 Holiday Catalog:

  • Gather Together Bundle
    • Gather Together Photopolymer Stamp Set
    • Gathered Leaves Dies
    • Come to Gather Designer Series Paper

One of the nice features of the leaves dies with this bundle is that they emboss and cut at the same time.  Spritz a little water on the card stock first or ink the die before placing on the paper for a more detailed embossed image.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Nov19 Christmas Projects

It’s hard to believe Christmas is one month away. This month I thought I would share a few card designs along with some gift idea’s and paper cracker that is filled with candy and holds a tea light candle.  At the end of the post you’ll find a downloadable project sheet with measurements and instructions.

First, I thought I would start with two cards featuring the Cup of Christmas Bundle along with the Brightly Gleaming Specialty 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. Believe it or not, but that is the same piece of designer series paper, just used both sides to show case the bundle.

Next for you I have 2 ornaments and a paper cracker filled with candy and a battery operated tea light. The larger ornament came from the craft store and was stamped in Memento Ink and colored with Watercolor Pencils, smaller one is heat embossed in Black.

How about a Z-Fold card – these can easily be made in either horizontal or landscape shape and you don’t even need a scoring tool to make the folds. For my cards I’m featuring the Perfectly Plaid Specialty Designer Series Paper. There is even a “cracker” in the back featuring the same paper and coordinating ribbon.

If you need a last minute gift why not make a folder for a legal size or smaller note pad. Cover some chip board (or an empty box) with designer series paper, add a closure and some decorations and you have a great gift for any occasion.

November Sunday Stamper Projects

Happy Sunday, today I’m sharing with you the projects my Sunday Stampers will be making featuring the Cup of Christmas Bundle, Limited Edition Christmastime is Here Suite and a special fun fold Teepee card. Sure hope everyone likes them!

We will start off using the Cup of Christmas Bundle, along with the Night Before Christmas 6″x 6″ Designer Series Paper to make a gift card holder along with a matching card – the perfect pair for gift giving. This stamp set is using “Reversibles” (patent pending) a new type of stamp which includes specialized photopolymer stamps that allow you to stamp with both sides if the stamp for greater versatitity, with this set you can stamp a right handed or left handed image!

Our second project is a TeePee Diamond fold card with matching envelope.  The stampers will have the option of using either magnets or Velcro dots to hold it together, if mailing I would suggest Velcro if not then the magnetic, personally I like the magnet closure just not sure the post office would.

The final project we will be making is a money holder featuring the Christmastime is Here Suite of Projects.  We will be using the Stamparatus for the image, I’ve lined up all the stamps for them, they will ink – stamp – repeat until complete.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Night Before Christmas DSP meets Holly Jolly Christmas !

Happy Friday!  Hope you’ve had a good week, I’m off every Friday for the balance of November so that I have time to do some personal crafting for the holidays and enjoy a three day weekend.

For my first card today, I started with papers die cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies layered once the stocking images are stamped and colored as desired. Next the words, from the Jolly Season Dies, are die cut in Gold Foil and adhered at the corners.  The middle stocking, while hard to see has the new Snowfall Accents Puff Paint as the trim.

Santa and his reindeer die make for an easy card with many possibilities, all you need is a piece of designer series paper and the die cut – below I’ve used Thick Whisper White, but this would look great with Sparkle Glimmer Paper and the Fresh Like Frost forest scene papers as well as Night before Christmas, which is below.

For this card, designer paper is matted on coordinating card stock which is then attached to the card base at an angle for interest. Santa is stamped in Memento Black Ink and colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers including Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Pineapple Punch and Highland Heather to name a few. Finishing touch is a tag with linen thread bow and Stampin’ Up! new Snowfall Accents Puff Paint.

Finally for this card the Santa image was die cut from Gold Foil, adhered to a designer paper 4″ x 5 ¼” size mat on a Whisper White card base and finished with a die cut from the Jolly Seasons Dies.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Baby Shower Card & Gift Card Holder

Sunday I attending a baby shower for my cousin Alex, who is having a baby girl in January – let’s hope it’s on the 20th!, guess who’s birthday is January 20th?  My cousin Debbie’s son Aaron & I already share a birthday, sure would be nice to add a third generation cousin to the list!

Here’s a close up of the card I made using retired designer series paper along with the Animal Friends Dies and the Well Written Dies. I’ve added depth to the card with a Large Vellum Stitched Shape Circle Die Cut and Leaf Ribbon. Noble Peacock Rhinestones add the perfect amount of bling.

Here is the gift card holder I made using 1/2 of a Medium Whisper White envelope.  Stop back on November 25th for complete instructions as part of my November 2019 Christmas projects,  Bakers twine used on the holder is retired, but does add that additional layer for depth and dimension.

The image used is also included in the Animal Outing Cling Mount Stamp set, so even thought the paper is retired, with the stamp set & die you can create your own card just like this – add the designer paper of your choice!

Christmastime is Here for FabFri175

Happy Friday, it’s almost the weekend, any special plans?  I’ll be getting a manicure & pedicure, some of my favorite me time and attending an event for my cousin who is having a baby on Sunday.

Today’s card is for the FabFri175 sketch challenge, check out the banner below. Click on image to check out their blog and play along. Personally, there are so many options with this design.

Thought I would finish out the week with one final card from the Christmastime is Here Suite combine with a sentiment from the Magnolia Blooms Photopolymer Stamp set.  I’ve die cut one of the images from the designer series paper (just love how the die works with both the designer paper & the stamp) and adhered directly to another of the designer papers used for the mat. Before completely adhering I tucked a Gold Foil Nested Stitched Label die cut to use for layering, a smaller Nested Stitched Label die cut was stamped using Merry Merlot ink and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Gold Shimmer Ribbon bow and Gold Glitter Enamel Dots

New way to use Embossing Dies

Today I thought I would share with you how I made the leaves for both cards featured on my blog today.

Included in the Gather Together Bundle are the Gathered Leaves Dies, which includes 3 leaves that not only die cut but they emboss.  You can do quite a lot with these leaves – on my samples below, I took the leaves, gently pressed them into an ink pad and dropped them on matching card stock to die cut. Another technique is to spray card stock with water using a Stampin’ Sprtizer before die cutting and you will achieve a similar effect.

The card below uses both the Gather Together Photopolymer Stamp Set along with the Birch Background stamp set and Itty Bitty Greetings.

For this version of the card, I used the same technique for the leaves, but the Birch Background stamp (on the Soft Suede) was stamped off on scrap paper first, then the Soft Suede for a very subtle image, along with the Country Home Photopolymer Stamp Set. Christmas Rhinestones help finish off the card along with a Cajun Craze Linen bow.
