Sunday Stampers – Feb19

Happy Sunday, today my Sunday Stampers are meeting and here are the cards we will be making.

The feature project this month for my Sunday Stampers is showing them how to use the Silicone Craft Sheet to do Mirror Stamping. While I have samples using some other stamp sets including the new Happy Tails bundle, we are using Lovely As A Tree – a timeless classic! Once we create the mirror image, sponge daubers will be used to color the background. Later this week I will show you how to do the mirror stamping.

The second card is a layout from fellow demonstrator Mary Fish, I used loved how you and use designer series paper or even a stamped image for the three 1″ strips. I’m using products from the Happiness Blooms suite, including the Dot to Dot TEIF which is hard to see in the photo, but looks great in person.

Our last project is a card in a pocket. The bow on the card holds the card in the pocket. I’m featuring the Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ designer series paper along with the Hell0 Cupcake Sale-A-Bration stamp set.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Designer Series Paper Shines for PCC327

Happy Saturday, hope you are having a good day. I’ve been busy preparing for my Sunday Stampers tomorrow, we needed to move it to my home and even made some Lemon Poppyseed and Blueberry Muffins.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge PCC327, click on the sketch to check out their blog and play along if you like!

For my card I decided to highlight the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper which coordinates with the Animal Outing Stamp set, Animal Friends Thinlits and Leaf Ribbon. The card base is Crumb Cake with a mat of Call Me Clover card stock.  I used the Layering Circle Framelits for the circles and the smaller one is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the vertical banner, the Triple Banner Punch makes banner ends easy and the Leaf Ribbon was adhered with Mini Glue Dots. Three leaf’s were used as a back drop for the little frog which is sitting on a greeting from the Itty Bitty Greeting Clear Mount Stamp set item #146667.  There are 32 sentiments in this set, one for every occasion. Finishing touch are some rhinestones.

Mint & Copper Doilies for FabFri157

Happy Friday! Any special plans? This weekend my Sunday Stampers will be meeting and due to a location change it’s at my house – I better start cleaning now! I’m lucky in that my husband will do the floors for me, I’ll be dusting and making a dessert!

Today’s card is for FabFri157, you can check out their blog here and play along.  When I saw the banner, I thought of the Dear Doily Bundle I just received and how Mint Macaron would look nice with Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and some Copper Foil.

For my card I’m using a base of Early Espresso card stock and the same ink for the greeting which is stamped on a Very Vanilla Circle from the Layering Circle Framelits, same for the Copper Foil circle behind it.  Various Doilies were cut from Mint Macaron & Copper Foil and added with liquid glue – the main image is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals so that some doilies can be tucked under.

This stamp set provides just the right images for some #simplestamping on the inside – just stamps – ink – paper.  Please don’t forget to stamp the inside!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Simple Watercolor Wash for background

Anything new in your neck of the woods? Again we are having rain not snow, muddy dog paws around the house are starting to get old but I’d be afraid to know just how many inches of snow we would have had if all the rain this winter so far had been snow!

Today I’m using a simple watercolor wash technique to create the background for the card.  Using my Aqua Painter filled with water I spread a thin layer of water over watercolor paper then light touched some color and spread it around. The colors I used work great together:

  • Gorgeous Grape
  • Lemon Lime Twist
  • Coastal Cabana

Once the paper was dry, I dropped some Clear Wink of Stella for some glimmer. Greeting is from the stamp set Petal Palette and is white heat embossed on Basic Black card stock.

For the inside I used Memento Black ink for the greeting, but for the flower image I dabbed ink on to the stamp before stamping. Don’t be concerned about the colors blending together, as that’s what you are looking for, similar to the front of the card. All the products used are listed below.

PCC326 Butterflies Well Said

Happy Saturday, hope you are having a good weekend. Did you see the newly released Sale-A-Bration items, if not please download the brochure at the end of the blog post – that new Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is so beautiful.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge, PCC326, banner below. Click on the banner to check out their blog and play along you might even be picked as a Top Pick like I was for PCC324, check that post out here. Thanks for the honor!

For my card I decided to feature some of the papers from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, one of the  Sale-A-Bration items that can be yours with a $50 product purchases. I’m also using dies and a greeting from the Well Said Bundle from the occasions catalog, while it’s the most expensive item in the catalog, the combinations are endless between the dies and greetings. My card uses the die ‘you’ with the greeting ‘Make Me Smile’. The little butterflies are also from this bundle. The Grapefruit Grove flower and Pear Pizzazz leaves (fussy cut) are from the Pop of Petal Bundle, Pop of Petal Stamp set and coordinating Four-Petal Flower Punch. The circles are backed with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the Balmy Blue/Highland Heather banner is adhered with two layers of Stampin’ Dimensionals.  This card has so much dimension between the height from the Dimensional’s to the butterfly wings and pearls.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Any special plays today with your special someone? We prefer to celebrate with dinner on another day, all our favorite places will be to crowded today. I will be having my favorite hoagie for lunch thanks to my hubby and he is the lucky recipient of some Betsy Ann Chocolates, handmade locally in West View PA and they are soooo good!

Today I’m sharing one of the Valentine’s card I made using the All My Love 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and Forever Lovely stamp set, part of the Forever Lovely Photopolymer Bundle. The bundle includes the stamp set and coordinating Lovely Flowers Edgelits. You’ll notice a triangle box I made, I’ll be sharing more information on that in another post, but thanks Julie DiMatteo for the idea.

For the inside I used the two step stamping images. Personally I stamped the Soft Sea Foam Images first, then stamped the flowers – which is what I found worked best for me, When you get this bundle, try it both ways to find what works best for you.

Sponging or Swiping ? ? ?

On Sunday I posted a card using products from the Happiness Blooms Suite and used the Dot to Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, today I thought I would share two possible other backgrounds for the designer paper not using an embossing folder.

The card on the left uses “sponging” to create the background while the one on the right uses the “swipe” technique.

Sponging – uses pieces of a craft sponge to add color to card stock, you start on the outside and work your way in. It’s always best to go light to dark colors and make sure to blend between the colors

Swiping – open the ink pad and swipe or drag around the card stock, you may need to swipe a few times to achieve the color you are looking for

So which do you like best?

Here is a shot of the inside of both cards, some #simplestamping – just stamps, ink & paper. Don’t forget to add stamping to the inside and maybe even the envelope!

Happiness Blooms for PCC325

Happy Sunday, hope you are having a good weekend. They say we should be getting about 1″ – 3″ of snow this evening – I’ll believe when I see it. Lately it seems we get rain instead of snow and with two German Shepherds this time of year snow and a cold yard is my preference.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch challenge PCC325, click on the sketch below to check out their blog and play along if you like.

For my card I decided on using products from the  Happiness Blooms Suite, these products include:

  • Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper (12″ x 12″)
  • Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots
  • Dot to Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

Other products used include the Lovely Lipstick Ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack, Rectangle Stitched Framelits, 1″ Circle Punch along with the Banner Triple Punch (which can be used for any size banner ends up to 2″).  The greeting is from the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set, which is part of a bundle with the Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies.

Lace Dynamic TIEF – Light or Dark cardstock?

When I saw this embossing folder live back in November, I knew I just had to have it, using it makes for an easy background for any card and added that little “something – something”.

The real question is – which looks better using dark or light card stock?

I’ve made two cards one with a Blackberry Bliss emboss image and another with Petal Pink.

The first card is using Petal Pink for the base and Blackberry Bliss for the embossed image. Sentiment on the front is from Incredible Like you and stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink.

Here is the inside of the Petal Pink card with images and sentiment from the Beautiful Day Stamp set.  The Happy Birthday comes as one piece – I did “stamp surgery” to make it two pieces for more flexibility in stamping.

The Blackberry Bliss version of the card is using Petal Pink for the embossing image and a sentiment from the Incredible Like You Stamp set that was heat embossed in white. Don’t forget to use your embossing buddy before you stamp in Versamark to help avoid extra specks of white embossing powder sticking where you don’t want it!

Inside of the Blackberry Bliss card has the Happy Birthday from Beautiful Day along with a sentiment and image from the Bella & Friends stamp set.

So which card did you like better – Blackberry Bliss or Petal Pink Embossed ?

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Humming Along for PCC324

Hope you had a nice weekend, we went from a wind chill of -25 degrees on Thursday to 54 degrees and sunny on Sunday – let’s hope a cold is not in my future with these wild temperature changes.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge PCC324 – a Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge, you can choose any three items down, across or diagonally.  Click the banner below to check out their blog and play along. Thank you to the team at PCC for picking my card as a top pick for PCC322, check that card out here.

For my card I decided on the bottom row across:

  • Something New – first card I’ve made using the Humming Along Bundle
  • No Hearts – no hearts have been harmed for this card
  • Texture – I used the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and added a die cut from the Humming Bird Framelit Dies

Here is a close up of my card. For the main image I stamped the Hummingbird on Watercolor paper using Stazon Black ink and let it dry for a few minutes before starting to color with my Aqua Painter. I’ve used a variety of colors, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight. If you are wondering about the green shades, that’s what happen when you use Daffodil Delight over the different shades of blue.  Stampin’ Dimensionals are holding the bird down and the Bermuda Bay die cut image. Ribbon is from the Tea Room Ribbon Combo, I used the Very Vanilla, but the Coastal Cabana would of looked nice as well.

Gingham Gala Scraps = Cute Birthday Note Card

Happy Sunday!  Do you have any plans for the Super Bowl today? Our Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t playing but we will still be watching and having some good food. I plan on making homemade potato skins and chicken wings in the air fryer, our favorite new way to prepare them.

As I was preparing this month for my Sunday Stampers class I noticed I had small pieces of Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper leftover, knew I did not want to waste the paper so thought about how I could use them and realized they would be perfect for a note card. The stamp set used is Amazing Life, which is a photopolymer and great for a variety of occasions. This stamp set is part of the Amazing Life Bundle – which includes the Rectangle Stitched Framelits (one of my most favorite products from the 2019 Occasions Catalog).  The Scalloped oval is Grapefruit Grove Foil Sheet – one of the 2019 Sale-A-Bration items. This paper is going fast, place your order soon to be able to add this free item to your order.  On the envelope I even stamped an image from the stamp set in the corner to tie the envelope to the card. For the ink for the card, I used Gray Granite, but if you don’t have that, Memento Black will work just fine. Tuck this with a gift and your good to go!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Have you used markers for card making?

Today I thought I would share with you a card and envelope I used the Stamparatus, the Stampin’ Up! stamp positioning tool and Stampin’ Write Markers to complete.

By using the combination of these two, I can color every portion of the stamp the color I want – stamp the image and repeat – until I have the image just the way I want it. As you can see the dog is shades of brown and black with red collar. The grass is shades of green and the turtle is a variety of colors.

If you are unfamiliar with the Stamparatus check out this video from Stampin’ Up!

Here’s another picture of the note card along with the envelope that I stamped a little doggie on, just love how I can make the collar a different color with no problem by using markers and my Stamparatus, get yours today!

  • 2017-2019 In-Colors
  • 2018-2020 In-Colors
