Gift Card Holder – version 2

Today I thought I would share a version of the gift card holder I made as part of my Christmas in August post, but this time using a 24″ piece of ribbon as the closure.  The basics for the holder are still the same, the only difference is before I added the 4″ x 4″ squares of designer series paper, I added ribbon to the card stock.

To hold the ribbon securely before adding the designer paper, use a small piece of Tear & Tape, on both the front and the back, once I did this it was easy to add the paper not worrying about the ribbon moving.

The Poinsettia on the front is die cut from the new Red and Green Foil Sheets – there is even a Square Vellum Doily behind it. The flower is so elegant that I decided not to add a greeting to the front.

Here is the inside of the gift card holder – I’ve added a piece of Whisper White card stock 4″ x 4″, stamped with images and greetings from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set & Don’t Stop Believin’ stamp sets.

Here is a link to the August 25th – Christmas is August post including downloadable project sheet.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Stitched Squares with 4 Colors

Yesterday I shared a project idea using Layering Dies with two colors, Purple Posy & Pretty Peacock and circle dies, today I thought I would share four cards using the same process, using four colors – Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay along with square dies.

Once all four sets of card stock squares where die cut, I put them together using one color per square and started making my cards.  For each card I used the Happy Birthday greeting from the Zany Zebra stamp set and either Gorgeous Grape or Bermuda Bay ink.

For the first card I simply put one of the squares on a Purple Posy card base and stamped the greeting.

For the second card I decided to use one of the squares layered on a Square Vellum Doily. The Vellum Doilies are 3″ square and you get 24 in a package for $5, this are a great addition to a project!

Now is when I decided to get crazy and do some cutting apart, I took the two remaining squares, cut them in half at the diagonal, creating four pieces, then I cut one of each into two pieces, again on the diagonal. The card below has me putting the four smaller pieces together to create a square on a Thich Whisper White card base.

For the last card, on a Thick Whisper White card base I added a 1/2″ wide strip of Gorgeous Grape card stock right down the middle, then added the remaining two diagonal pieces – one of the left side and one on the right.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Idea with Layering Dies and the Double P’s!

Today I’m featuring two cards inspired by fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Karen Titus. I saw a video the other day she did using the Stitched Shaped Dies to create some really cool cards, so I wanted to recreate one. For this technique any layering/nesting dies would work.

To create the card I’ve layered the circle dies from Stitched Shapes Dies together and used washi tape to hold them together, any type of low tack tape would work, before running through my die cut machine – one set in each color Purple Posy and Pretty Peacock (the double P’s).

Next I switched out the third circle, from the outside and for the card below, cut the one circle in half, before adding to my card front which is a Purple Posy card stock base with mat of Pretty Peacock which has been embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder. When attaching the circle halves to the card front, I first added a thin strip of Purple Posy across the card front, then added the half circle above and below, then added an additional strip with stamped greeting on top of the first strip.

For this card, I used a Pretty Peacock card base and mat of Purple Posy that has been embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. The circle was adhered with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and a banner die cut from the Tasteful Labels die set is stamped with a greeting from Itty Bitty Greetings!

Stop back in a few days for “four” cards using this same technique and different colors – this is a great way to use some of those smaller pieces of card stock laying around!

Inspiration thanks to Luke Bryan

This past weekend my husband and I were watching the Country Music Countdown on CMT and when I saw a pair of shorts country music star Luke Bryan was wearing in his video “One Margarita” a just knew I had to make a card using the color scheme.

Featured colors are Magenta Madness, Bermuda Bay and Black.

To make the card I sponged on Magenta Madness ink to the bottom half and Bermuda Bay ink to the top half of a piece of Thick Whisper White card stock – where the colors meet in the middle is light purple in color.  Words from the stamp set “Friend Like You” are stamped in the upper left corner, this piece was then matted on Basic Black Card stock before adding to a Thick Whisper White card base.  Hint – use your Stamparatus to stamp the greeting just in case you need to stamp a few times to get a clear and crisp image.

Next, I die cut two Palm Trees from the “In the Tropics dies”,  adhered them together then backed the image with Mini Black Dimensionals so they blend into the card. Flowers were then die cut and added in Basic Black card stock.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Christmas in August

Merry Christmas in August, today is four months until Christmas, the perfect time to start your holiday projects.  Today I will be sharing  with you, four cards and a gift card holder.

I’m featuring one stamp set and two bundles from the August – December 2020 Mini Catalog:

  • Christmas Means More Stamp Set
  • Poinsettia Petals Bundle
  • Gift Wrapped Bundle

Here is the first card using the Christmas Means More Stamp Set teamed up with the Tis the Season Designer Series Paper.

The second card with the Christmas Means More Stamp Set reminds me of the movie It’s A Wonderful Life, a Christmas classic.

Here I’m featuring the Poinsettia Petals Bundle – there are so many possibilities with this set, any type of paper, including glimmer, foil, velvet or even felt works great with the dies!

Here is another card featuring the Poinsettia Dies and the beautiful Beaded Pearls.

The last project is a gift card holder with Velcro closure.

Here is the inside of the gift card holder:

If you liked the cards and gift card holder, please download the project sheet with measurements and how to complete each project.  If you need to purchase any of the products, I would appreciate your business.  Christmas in August 2020

Love of Leaves Bundle

One of my favorite bundles in the new August – December 2020 Mini Catalog is the “Love of Leaves” Bundle.  This bundle includes the Love of Leaves Stamp Set and the Stitched Leaves Dies. Stampin’ Up! bundles make coordination easy. Stamp & tool bundles help you quickly cut out stamped images for a single project or create multiples of the same project with ease.

LOVE OF LEAVES PHOTOPOLYMER STAMP SET – Perfect for thank you and friendship cards., 11 photopolymer stamps make up the stamp set.

STITCHED LEAVES DIES – Create custom, die-cut Autumn leaves and add them to your handmade cards, scrapbooks, journals, and other paper crafts using the Stitched Leaves Dies. Ask your demonstrator about coordinating products, 13 dies in the set.  Here is a graphic of what it looks like.

LOVE OF LEAVES BUNDLE (ENGLISH)

Today I’m sharing two cards, a simple version and “stepped up” version.  Below is the simple version of the card. I started with  4″ x 5¼” piece of Very Vanilla, I first stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink then filled in the balance of the paper with leaves stamped in 5 different colors – Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, Terracotta Tile, Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron. This piece was matted on Cajun Craze then adhered to a Thick Very Vanilla card stock base.

For the stepped up version of the card I used a tiny strip of Very Vanilla card stock for the sentiment and before adhering the stamped Very Vanilla piece of card stock to the Cajun Craze mat, I used one of the dies to cut out a leave. Once the stamped unit was adhered to the mat, I added a piece of the Mint Macaron Basketweave Ribbon with Glue Dots, the cut out leave was added with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the ends, then sentiment on top!

Forever Fern for Fall?

When looking through the new August – December Mini Catalog, I decided not to purchase any new fall stamp sets and to only purchase some new designer series paperto feature on cards using stamp sets I already had, (PS  – I caved and bought the Love of Leaves Bundle).

Today’s Fun Fold card features the new Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper, which includes the colors Mint Macaron, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso, along with Copper and Gold Foil.

Once I decided on the card stock I wanted to use, I needed stamps to use for images and I realized the stamps from Forever Fern Bundle reminded me of the images, so I pulled out the stamp set and ink and stamped away. Amazing how good they look together.  You could very easily add designer series paper on the right hand side instead of stamping. Any stamp set can be used for the greeting, mine come from Lovely You Bundle.

Here are the specifics for the card:

  • Cajun Craze card base is 5½” x 8½”, scored at 1″ and 4¼”
  • On the front, there is a piece of designer series paper 2″ x 5¼”
  • Fold over the 1″ score and adhere to the front of the card
  • Add 1″ x 5¼” coordinating strip of designer series paper
  • Use paper trimmer to cut 3/8″ – 1/2″ slit in the center fold so ribbon can be wrapped around and secured in the front
  • Die cut Scallop Layering Square (any layering dies would work)
  • Die Cut Stitched Shade Square for stamping
  • Card stock for inside stamping 4″ x 5¼”

On the right side of the inside piece of Very Vanilla card stock, images from the Forever Fern stamp set and because of using the same colors of ink from the designer series paper, they look like where cut from the same paper.  You can also see how the ribbon was wrapped around the front.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

August 2020 Sunday Stamper Projects

Did you notice the texture in the close up photo? Wonder how I achieved that look? I’ll tell below.

Today my Sunday Stampers are gathering and we will be making 2 normal cards and one “card with a box”, a request of my hostess this month. Here is a photo of all the projects.

The first card features the All Things Fabulous Bundle. This set can be  2 step or 3 step stamping, depending on the flowers used and layers you want to stamp.  The blue flowers have 3 layers of ink and yellow are 2 layers – and believe it or not – images are stamped on In Good Taste Designer Series Paper then run through my die cut machine using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder for the coolest looking textured images!

For this card, I switched up the seasons and created a holiday card, where the flowers adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to hold a Square Vellum Doily in place on Tis the Season Designer Series Paper. Greeting is from Itty Bitty Christmas.

Finally we have the card with a box, requested by the hostess.  In June I created the same project using a horizontal layout and Flowers for Every Season designer paper, while I did not have enough of that paper, I decided we would make the vertical version today.  Below is a downloadable project sheet with all the measurements and a link to the prior post which also has a downloadable project sheeting, including photo on how to score and cut the box.

One important item to remember – add the ribbon BEFORE the card stock/designer paper on the three sides!

Daisy Lane – part 2

Today is the second day of the series featuring the Daisy Lane stamp set and coordinating Medium Daisy and Daisy Punch. All the cards today are using the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper.

The first card for today features three strips of designer series paper, each 1¼” x 5″, adhered onto a mat of Early Espresso 4″ x 5¼” on a Old Olive Card base, coordinating colors from the designer paper.  I’ve used one of the Tasteful Labels Die in Early Espresso to anchor the Whisper White Daisy, layered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Greeting is from Itty Bitty Greeting and punch out with the Classic Label Punch. Finishing touch is a Three strain Linen Bow.

The next two cards are my take on recent Jennifer McGuire video’s from YouTube.

First is a Double Flap Gate fold card.  The base starts as a 4¼” x 11″ piece of card stock scored at 2¾” on each end so that when folded the ends meet in the front. I’ve added designer paper (2½” x 4″) matted on Early Espresso card stock (2 5/8″ x 4 1/8″).  On the front is a Scalloped Square in Old Olive with Whisper White square inside, this piece is adhered to the left front.

Then you die cut a second scalloped square and Whisper White inside – I suggest stamping images before adhering to the card – it’s better that way, ask me how I know (it’s why there is a daisy adhered). Make sure when adhering this square to the right front of the card you match it underneath the square from the front left.

Here is the card open completely, center Whisper White is 4″ x 5¼”, stamped with a second generation image and full strength stamped greeting.

The second gate fold card starts the same way but has a ribbon closure – for this card the card stock/designer paper Stitched Rectangles adhered to the front are cut in half and adhered directly to the center. The Oval Dies (2), are folded in half, with a small circle punched out, ribbon is adhered to the card front first, then the oval and the ribbon is pulled through and tied in a bow.

Here is the card with the bow untied. Once I know the occasion the card will be used for I will stamp the inside.

Remember, these cards can all be made with your favorite stamp set, designer series paper and any occasion!

Daisy Lane – part 1

Today is day 1 of a two part blog series featuring the Daisy Lane Stamp Set along with the Medium Daisy and Daisy Punch from the Annual Catalog.

One of my Sunday Stampers suggested how it would be nice to see a variety of card options featuring some of the more popular purchases of our group and suggested this stamp set with coordinating punches.  Today I will bring you five cards, including a fall and Christmas option. Gather your stamp set, punches and label dies to get started.

First we have a simple card featuring one of my favorite new 2020-2022 In-Colors, Magenta Madness. The card has images stamped on the card base and features a strip of designer paper layered on Whisper White. Medium Daisies are adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and the greeting is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.

Next is a card featuring the colors Rococo Rose, Seaside Spray and Misty Moonlight for the daisies and Pear Pizzazz for the fern leaves and card base. Greeting is from Well Said Stamp Set and is embellished with Misty Moonlight In-Color Enamel Dots.

Next we move on to a “celebrate” for any occasion.  For the background I’ve used the Birch Background stamp with Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White card stock and for added texture, ran the paper through the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder  before adding to a Bermuda Bay mat. Greeting is from Many Mates Stamp set. To finish off the card is a sweet linen bow.

Next, how about a fall themed card.  Here I have used the ink color matching the card stock (Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Bumblebee) for the daisies.  The background is Cinnamon Cider Designer Series paper matted on matching card stock. I’ve even added a leaf from the Gathering Leaves Dies.  The flowers are nested on an Old Olive Stitched So Sweetly Die and stamped with a greeting from the Gather Together Stamp Set.

Finally is a Christmas featuring the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper, Real Red Daisies and leaves from the To a Wild Rose Stamp set and matching Wild Rose Dies. Greeting is from Christmas Rose stamp set, which you can find in the online store. Center of the main flower is a ½” Gold Foil Sheet circle embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

Remember for any of the cards, the greeting that suits your needs can be used vs. what I’ve used.

Poinsettia Place Suite

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Today I thought I would share with you two cards I made with products from the new Poinsettia Place Suite, one of my favorites from the new August-December 2020 Mini Catalog! Not only is there a bundle (stamp set and dies), but gorgeous designer series paper, plush flocked specialty paper (that some of the dies coordinate with), beaded pearls and sheer real red ribbon.

The card are using the same colors for the Poinsettia’s – one using ink (Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive) and the other Watercolor Pencils.

Both cards have Thick Very Vanilla card stock bases, Cherry Cobbler card stock mats and backgrounds of the new Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper. For the first card below I’ve used the new Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper along with ink pads and the new Water Painters to apply the ink. To me, ink provides a deeper color vs. watercolor pencils. Images where stamped with Staz Black Ink.

For the second card, I’ve used Watercolor Pencils (Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive) to color the flowers and the Water Painters to blend out the color. The same designer paper was used for the background and another sentiment from the stamp set in Old Olive.  Gold Foil berries accent the card.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!

Bonus Days end today!

Reminder: Today is the final day of Stampin’ Up!  Bonus Days – For every $50 USD you spend before shipping and tax, you earn a $5 USD Bonus Days coupon code that can be redeemed  from August 4 -31, 2020, just in time for the new  2020 Holiday/Fall/Winter Mini Catalog.  Bonus day codes are emailed directly to you from Stampin’ Up!

If you have an order of $50 or more, today is the perfect day to place your order and get your coupon(2). Place an order $50 or greater today and I’ll send you a gift package from the new holiday catalog!

Thought I would share two cards featuring the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper – these die cuts make for quick and easy cards.  Both cards feature card bases with an embossed mat on the same color, a gold laser-cut die and simple greeting.

The first card features 2019-2021 In-Color Pretty Peacock card stock and the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder (mat on the card base) and two prints from the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper along with the coordinating Forever Fern Stamp Set.

This card features the 2019-2021 In-Color Purple Posy and the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, any sentiment that fits on the Stitched So Sweetly Die would work – the ink color Highland Heather is just a deeper purple hue.

Tropical Stay-ca-tion

At this time last year I was spending a long weekend with my brother and his family in New Jersey and visiting Wildwood with them – this year  there is no trip and I’m currently enjoying a “Stay-ca-tion” – relaxing in my backyard pool, a couple day trips with my husband and tropical drinks!

Since tropical drinks are my beverage of choice right now, I thought using the Timeless Tropical Stamp set for a few cards was perfect.

My first card using a Mango Melody card base and stamping of the largest flower around the edges. The smaller flower and pineapple are stamped for the focal image with a palm tree, both in a solid die cut and colored die cut. Smallest Stitched So Sweetly die was used for the greeting, which is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the second card I made, I’ve used the Pineapple dies from the set in Garden Green and Bumblebee – for the bottom of the pineapple, I traced the die and cut it out with Paper Snips then adhered the die cut piece to it. For the background I used a piece of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper  cut to 3″ x 4″ and ran it through my embossing machine using the Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder and matted on a piece of Early Espresso card stock. The greeting was stamped in Magenta Madness and cut out with paper snips.

Reminder: Stampin’ Up!  has brought bring back Bonus Days – For every $50 USD you spend between July 1st and August 3rd 2020 (before shipping and tax), you earn a $5 USD Bonus Days coupon code that can be redeemed  August 4 -31, 2020, just in time for the new Fall/Winter Mini Catalog.
