Simple Watercolor Wash for background

By | February 19, 2019

Anything new in your neck of the woods? Again we are having rain not snow, muddy dog paws around the house are starting to get old but I’d be afraid to know just how many inches of snow we would have had if all the rain this winter so far had been snow!

Today I’m using a simple watercolor wash technique to create the background for the card.  Using my Aqua Painter filled with water I spread a thin layer of water over watercolor paper then light touched some color and spread it around. The colors I used work great together:

  • Gorgeous Grape
  • Lemon Lime Twist
  • Coastal Cabana

Once the paper was dry, I dropped some Clear Wink of Stella for some glimmer. Greeting is from the stamp set Petal Palette and is white heat embossed on Basic Black card stock.

For the inside I used Memento Black ink for the greeting, but for the flower image I dabbed ink on to the stamp before stamping. Don’t be concerned about the colors blending together, as that’s what you are looking for, similar to the front of the card. All the products used are listed below.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!
