PCCCS132

Happy Saturday, just getting ready to settle down and watch some television this evening. There is always a movie to watch on the Hallmark channel! In our neck of the woods it’s been snowing since about 6am and we have about 6″ of snow. It was a great day to make some vegetable soup, turn on the fireplace and do some stamping.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #132. Drop on over to their blog to check out the other great cards.

To get started on the card I chose a piece of Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper and decided on Butterflies as my accents. There is a piece of the Birthday Bash paper matted on Crushed Curry cardstock, backed with dimensionals on a card base of Mossy Meadow. Before I attached the piece to the card base I added a piece of Calypso Coral ribbon from the Sale-A-Bration Best Year Ever Accessories Pack. Next I took a doily and using a sponge dauber and Mossy Meadow ink, added color to the doily to match the card base. Using the Deco Label Framelits and Whisper White, die cut a shape to stamp with my favorite sentiment from the Painted Petals Stamp set. The doily was cut apart and added to the back of the white label.  The butterflies are stamped from the Kinda Eclectic & Butterfly Basics stamp sets and punched out with matching punches, pearls add the finishing touch. The entire piece is backed with dimensionals.  The sequins were pulled from the Bermuda Bay trim and added with glue dots . A bow in Calypso Coral finishes off the ribbon and was attached with a glue dot.

What a celebration of colours, Karen. the butterflies cut with the punch work beautifully with those cut using the Beautiful Wings embosslit. Love the effect. Thanks so much for joining us this week for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge.

So pretty Karen! I don’t know how you cope with the snow – I certainly couldnt! Love the contrast of your dark doily with the bright colours – roll on Spring for you and Autumn for us here in Aus 🙂 Thanks for joining us at The Paper Craft Crew this week!

Karen, this is a beautiful card. I especially like how you double layered the butterflies to incorporate more color and I love the added sequins. Thanks for joining us at the Paper Craft Crew this week!
