Gift card holder anyone?

By | May 10, 2020

Between everything going on in the world, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, high school and college graduation thought it was the perfect time to show how to make a gift card holder.  Gift cards are a great way to show your appreciation to essential workers, graduates or anyone!  If you don’t want to add a gift card, cash works nicely in these as well.

Below is a picture of some I’ve made so far to have around for any occasion that pops up.  Each uses a different designer series paper collection, any collection can be used. Designer Series Paper pictured below: Birthday Bonanza, Country Club, Tropical Oasis and Peaceful Poppies.

Here is an up close of the Peaceful Poppies holder with a Poppy Parade ribbon bow!

Here is what the inside of the gift card holder looks like. I’ve left the inside Whisper White card stock blank and unattached until I know the occasion and then I’ll stamp the appropriate sentiment and attach.  To close the holder I’ve added a thin adhesive Velcro dot which can be purchased from a box store or Amazon.

Here are the dimensions for the holder:

  •  Card stock – 5½” x 6″
    • Score 5½”   side at 7/8″ on both ends
    • Score 6″ side at 1¾” on both ends
  • Once scored, fold and burnish scores, cut away the four regular pieces and round all corners if desired
  • Designer Series Paper
    • 3 – 1 5/8″ x 3 5/8″ (top outside/inside flap and bottom flap)
      • 2 of these pieces have rounded corners
    • 1 – 2 3/8″ x 3 5.8″ (back)
  • Inside Whisper White or Very Vanilla – 2¼” x 3½”
  • Decorate front as desired
  • Only adhesive needed is to adhere designer paper

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!
