Faux Step Card

By | January 12, 2022

Need a card idea for those January birthdays? Today’s Faux Step Card is perfect for you.  The nice part of the card is that the die cut on the center portion can overhang, just so it’s not wider than 4¼”.

While I can’t take credit for the design, I saw fellow demonstrator Cindy Brumbaugh make the card, I’ll share the measurements with you.

Measurements and card basics:

  • Card Base – 4¼” x 9″, scored at 1¼” – 2½” – 5¾”
  • Card Base Designer Series Paper – 1″ x 4″ and 3″ x 4″
  • Middle Center piece – 2½” x 8½”, scored at 5½”
  • Center Designer Series Paper – 2¼” x 5¼”
  • Basic White card stock for sentiment on inside – 3″ x 4″

Next is the side view of the card. Tree is made from three layers of card stock – Misty Moonlight, Old Olive and Basic White for depth. When adhering together, I did not worry about the layers matching perfectly, as it adds to the look of depth.

Greeting on the front is from the Artistically Inked Stamp set and layered on Rectangle Stitched Dies.

Final here is the view from the back, I’ve added designer paper, 3″ x 4″ – which helps cover where the center piece is adhered.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope these projects have inspired you to try paper crafting. Should you decide to place an order for Stampin’ Up! products, I would appreciate your business.
