Ever try the Rubberband Technique?

By | February 24, 2020

Hope you had a nice weekend and are ready for the final week of February. I enjoyed my weekend, Friday night spent time with friends I haven’t in a few years, Saturday was manicure and pedicure day – I did the fancy pedicure which is like a facial for your legs and Sunday was a Costco run to use my rewards certificate!

Now lets do some stamping . . .

Today’s card features the Wildly Happy Cling Mount Stamp Set for a baby card. The stamp set is cute with parent/kid animals and cute greetings, there is a Panda, Fox, Elephant and Bunny.  The bamboo looking background of the card features the “rubber band technique”, which I explain below.

Here’s the specifics of the card:

  • Gray Granite Card stock card base
  • Gray Granite Ink for Rubber Band Technique
  • Stitched Rectangle Dies
    • Petal Pink card stock mat
    • Whisper White card stock for stamping with Memento Black Ink
  • Petal Pink 5/8″ Organdy Striped Ribbon

If you wondered how a achieved the background on the card , I used the rubber band technique I was reminded about while watching some YouTube video’s the other evening.  What is the rubber band technique you ask? It’s covering a clear acrylic block with a bunch of rubber bands in different directions and sizes (if you have them, I only had one size of rubber bands), pressing the block into an ink pad and then on your card stock.

Here is what the block looked like I used, it’s a “D” size block which is 2 7/8″ x 2 11/16″.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today, hope this project has inspired you to try paper crafting. Have a great day – Craft On!
