How about a layering circle card and surprise design at the end . . .

Before I go into to much detail about how to do the “layering” circles, I suggest prepping them, then lay them out to make sure to know how to layer them – it took me a few tries to get it right.

For the card you will need:

• Largest & smallest circle die cut two different colors (Just Jade & Calypso Coral for my card), then cut in half
• One medium size circle, cut in half
• Layer as in the picture below, adhere together
• Greeting is covering the seam where the circles meet

My first card uses the Sweet Symmetry Designer Paper with Just Jade, Bumblebee and Calypso Coral card stock. The circles are from the Layering Circle dies, I used the largest, then 2 sizes down and 2 sizes down again.

Why not switch it up and use squares? For the card below I used three squares: 3″, 2½” and 2″.

Designer paper is Expressions in Ink, teamed with Gold Foil, Pale Papaya and Shaded Spruce card stock.

Happy Christmas in October!

Hard to believe Christmas is only 2 months away!  Have any present purchased? I’ve been watching Hallmark Christmas movies this weekend and it perfect for making holiday cards.

You might want to write on the die cut before adding, it will make it easier.

How about a bookbinding card with a special surprise inside.

Surprise!  A pop-up card is inside!

Finally, we all need gift card holders, this one uses designer paper for the base.

Here is the what the inside looks like.  This is a great use for a 9″ long piece of designer paper.

Happy Friday! I’m enjoying a vacation day starting with a hair appointment for a color & highlight – always important to take time for yourself.

Today I have two “collar” cards for you.  People call these cards “collar” because of how you turn down the paper at the cut line.

The measurements for the designer paper on both cards is the same, it’s the orientation of the paper that is different.

Card basics:

• Designer Series Paper cut to 4¼” x 5½”
• On one of the 5½” sides, measure down 2¾” and make a small tick mark
• At the tick mark, cut 2″ into the paper
• Fold back the cuts and use a Stampin’ Dimensional to hold each side down
• Add the Designer Paper to the card base
• Decorate as desired

First up is a vertical or portrait version of the card using the Painted Christmas Designer Paper and Christmas Season Bundle.

How about a horizontal or landscape version of the card using the Tidings of Christmas Designer Paper and Tidings & Trimmings Bundle.

Happy Saturday!  Any special plans? It’s manicure/pedicure day for me and there is a Hockey game to watch tonight – I see nacho’s & cheese in my future this evening!

Today for you I have two cards that use the same colors, just different stamp sets and embossing folders to show you.

My first sample uses the stamp set Enjoy the Moment and once the stamped image is adhered to the Just Jade mat it’s run through the Cut & Emboss machine using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.

Notice that little piece of Brushed Metallic card stock under Happy Birthday? It coordinates with the Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots I’ve added.

My second card for today features the Forever Fern stamp set and the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

Today, I have three cards that the designer series paper, better know as DSP,  doing all the work and all the cards use the Heartfelt Wishes stamp set for both inside and outside greetings.

The stamp set includes 10 cling stamps including Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Cheers and sending love.

First up is a card using the Sweet Stockings 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and I just added a ¾” strip with the stamped greeting.

Next, I’m using the Peaceful Place 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.  This paper has so many sheets perfect for these simple, yet elegant cards.

The final sample uses the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper, which is 6″ x 6″ size.

This past week Linda, one of my high school classmates and friends, retired after 46 years of working!  Saturday there was a gathering to celebrate!

Here is a picture from Saturday with Cindy, Linda, Linda, me, Julie and Mike – we all went to high school together and monthly schedules permitting we get together for dinner.

Linda enjoys my handmade cards, so I made a special card for her. While I don’t have a photo of the gift bag, I used a piece of the same designer paper, matted on Shaded Spruce card stock to decorate the bag.

The inside has Gold Foil mats and the Picture This Dies were used for the three strips.

Inside flower is a piece of designer series paper die cut using one of the dies from the Artistically Inked Bundle, which is where the die cut on the card front comes from as well.

Hint;  Don’t forget to use adhesive sheets on the back of your card stock or foil sheets with delicate die cuts to add them easily.
