Theme Challenge for PCC269 – Very Vintage

By | November 24, 2017

Well November sure has been a rather busy month for me. As someone who works in finance the first week and a half is always busy every month, but this month I attended the Stampin’ Up On Stage 2017 in Salt Lake City, came back home for about 24 hours and out again for a four day business trip, which included late nights. It was so nice to be back home this week, I took a few days to just rest and now I’m back in the groove!

Due to my travel schedule I was not able to participate in the past two Paper Craft Crew challenges, I’m back this week for the Theme Challenge – Very Vintage. Since we are in the holiday season, I decided on a Christmas card and when I thought of vintage Christmas – a silver tree and distressed musical paper came to mind. The banner is below, click on it to check out the Paper Craft Crew blog.

For my card I started with a piece of Merry Music Designer Series Paper hand torn into a piece a little smaller than 4″ x 5 ¼”, stamped around the edges in Crumb Cake using a stamp from Timeless Textures, stamped the ornaments from Carols of Christmas in Cherry Cobbler on the top edge and using sponge daubers added Crumb Cake around the edges for a distressed look. Next using sponge brayers added Crumb Cake and So Saffron to the paper, then crinkled the paper in my hand for a more distressed look, added liquid glue to a piece of Cherry Cobbler and gently adhered the Merry Music paper. A piece of Very Vanilla Lace Trim was added about 1″ up from the bottom.  On Whisper White card stock used Versamark ink and stamped the evergreen tree from Lovely as a Tree, sprinkled with Silver Embossing powder and heat set then using Paper Snips cut it out and added a little Crumb Cake with a sponge dauber, adhered to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Die cut a few deer in Early Espresso from the Card Front Builder Thinlits (Carol Of Christmas Bundle includes stamp set with matching Thinlits) to add around the tree. To finish the card I adhered the Cherry Cobbler base to Crumb Cake card base, added a Lace Trim box, pearls and greeting in Cherry Cobbler from Cookie Cutter Christmas.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try stamping.
