Favorite Sale-a-Bration item – Springtime Foil Designer Paper

Happy Saturday, it’s the final day for Sale-a-Bration 2018, did you get everything you wanted? It not, today’s the day!

Today I’m featuring my favorite SAB product – Springtime Foil Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper helps give an elegant spin with foil-designed, spring inspired paper. Use this for cards, tags, boxes and more. There are 12 sheets, all 12″ x 12″ – 3 each of 4 designers in three colors – gold foil, rose gold foil and silver foil.

For my card, I simply cut a piece of the designer paper to size, colored with a sponge brayer using Tranquil Tide ink pad, hand cut a flower and leafs from another sheet of the paper and added them as a focal point. The colored paper is back with Copper foil sheet and greeting stamped in Berry Burst for a pop of color. Card base is Tranquil Tide.

To color the designer paper I used my sponge brayer to roll color over the paper until the desired color was reached. Once you are done a little soap and water and the color comes right out of the brayer.

Bubble Fizz & Tutti Fruitti for PCC286

Happy Thursday, one day closer to the weekend!

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge PCC286, a two week challenge, running until April 10th. I’ve decided to highlight Sale-a-Bration products on the card for the sketch, which you can see below, play along if you like.

My card features:

Tutti-Fruitti Card base & Envelopes ($50 USD SAB item)
Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper ($50 USD SAB item) – this paper coordinates with the Bubble Over Bundle from the 2018 Occasions Catalog. While I do not have the bundle, I was able to easily hand cut out a few of the large bottles from the paper.
Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes (which act like bubbles from the bottles)
Greeting is from the Big on Birthdays Photopolymer Stamp set
For the flap of the envelope, I traced and hand cut a piece of designer paper to add with liquid glue for a matching card/envelope.

This was a quick and easy card to put together and looks great!

Blossoming Copper Blooms for PCC285

Happy Saturday and welcome to the weekend, any special plans?

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge, PCC285, use 3 of the 4 colors and Neutrals as needed.

For my color selection I decided on:

Tempting Turquoise
So Saffron
Wisteria Wonder
Neutral – Copper Embossing and Soft Suede for coloring the basket

My card features the Stampin’ Up! (Free with $100 USD order) Sale-a-Bration item – Blossoming Basket Bundle. The bundle includes the Blossoming Basket stamp set and Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder which creates authentic looking weaved texture for your projects. Don’t forget to give the paper a light spritz with water to intensify the embossing!

The basket was stamped using Versamark ink on Watercolor Paper, sprinkled with Copper Embossing Powder and heat set. Next using my Aqua Painters and ink pads, I colored in the image, once dry I hand cut out with my Paper Snips. Greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped on a scrap of Watercolor paper and cut out. To mat the image I used a piece of So Saffron Card stock that I spritzed with water lightly and using the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder ran through my Big Shot. Making sure the paper was dry I then adhered directly to the Wisteria Wonder card base. A piece of Copper Trim was wrapped around the front and a bow tied. Basket was then added with Stampin’ Dimensionals and “blossoms” colored over with a Clear Wink of Stella pen for sparkle!

Coloring the Springtime Foil Specialty Paper

Happy Friday. With this wacky weather I’ve caught a cold, nothing is worse than a stuffed nose and cough. I’m drinking lots of water, resting and taking medicine, hopefully I will feel better for the weekend.

Today’s card features the flowers I colored and hand cut out of the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper.

For the focal image of the card, I die cut the next to largest label from “Lots of Labels Framelits” from watercolor paper and using my Aqua Painter colored it Pool Party. Once the flowers were colored with Stampin’ Blends and Clear Wink of Stella, they were hand cut out with Paper Snips then adhered to the Pool Party piece with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals so that leafs could be tucked under and adhered with liquid glue. Finishing touches are a Pool Party Shimmering Bow and greeting. The card base Thick Very Vanilla card stock with the mat of Very Vanilla that was run through the Big Shot using the Simple Strips Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Party Panda Birthday!

Happy Wednesday, sure does not look like spring outside with a few inches of snow and more on the way.

Today’s card was a fun one to make and features the Sale-a-Bration stamp set Party Pandas.

For the border on the card front, I ran strips of the Myths & Magic Specialty Washi Tape around all four side, then matted a piece of Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper.

The washi tape actually glitters, it has stars, stripes and a little magic. There are three rolls in widths of 3/16″, 3/8″ and 1/2″.

Stitched Shape & Layering Square Framelits help create the focal image on the front with one of the Party Pandas inside and banner with Happy Birthday at an angle on the top left. There is Lemon Lime Ribbon adding texture to the front of the card. This card is perfect for the littles one in your life, or anyone who loves pandas!

While I forgot to take a photo, the inside was stamped with the image of the Panda and balloon.

Happy 30th Anniversary to my husband!

In case you have not heard, 2018 is the 30th Anniversary Year for Stampin’ Up!

But, there is another important 30th Anniversary in 2018 and that would be today, March 19th – 30 years ago today my husband Dan & I where married.

Here is the card waiting for Dan when he wakes up this morning. The colors for the wedding where red and black, so I used those for the card. Fun fact – we had a cupcake wedding cake (not the norm 30 years), little did we know we would be trend setters.

A Bloomin’ Heart die cut is the focal image for the card, with Real Red numbers and greeting in Memento Black ink, hope he likes the card.

Sunday Stamper Cards – March 2018

Happy Sunday, today I will be meeting with my Sunday stampers and here are the cards we will be making.

Petal Palette Colored Flowers for PCC284

Happy Friday! Any special plans for St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow? We have an annual party we go to with our Irish friends, I make my Pistachio Bundt Cake with green batter, this year I even have shamrock shaped cake pans to use!

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge PCC284, the banner is below. This was a fun card to put together, don’t forget to check out their blog.

For my card I started by taking a piece of Petal Passion Designer Series Paper and colored in the images with a variety of Stampin’ Blend Markers. From this paper I created the banner and hand cut out with my Paper Snips a few flowers and leaves. I used another of the designer paper to create the tag in the center and my sponge brayer with Old Olive ink to color it. The base of the card is Basic Black 4.25″ x 11″ scored at 5.5″ for a top folding card. Next on a piece of Whisper White is a piece of designer paper on the bottom third and once the banner was adhered a piece of Shimmer Basic Black Ribbon was wrapped around before adhering to a Cherry Cobbler mat. Tag was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals, flowers and leafs then layered some with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Clear Wink of Stella was added for sparkle on the flowers. Greeting is from the Petal Passion Stamp Set, part of the Petal Passion Bundle with the Petals & More Thinlits. Finishing touch is a linen thread bow using four strands of thread.

Easy layout with Banners & Leaves

Today I have a clean and simple card that would be great to make using almost any designer series paper, embossing folder and greeting.

Here are the specific for the card:

Crumb Cake card base 4¼” x 11″, scored at 5½” for a top folding card
Crumb Cake mat 4″ x 5¼”, run through Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF
- Adhered with liquid glue or you use Stampin’ Dimensionals
Banners of Tutti Fruitti Designer Series Paper (adhered with liquid glue)
- 2″ x 5″ and 1½” x 4¼”
- Banner Triple Punch for ends
Scalloped Layering Oval in Real Red, adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals
Whisper White oval die cut with a Stitched Shapes Framelit
- greeting from Picture Perfect Birthday Photopolymer Stamp Set
Leaves punched in Real Red and Green Paper from the Myths & Magic 6″x 6″Glimmer Paper Pack

Truly Tailored Narrow Card Set

Today I’m featuring the True Gentlemen Suite – classic patternS and elongated hexagons make this suite tasteful, Tailored and irresistible.

When I decided on the first project to make with this bundle, the Whisper White Narrow Note Cards with matching envelopes seemed to be the perfect fit, why not make a set of “man” cards and put them in a box for gifting. The box came from the Lots to Love Box Framelits and Eastern Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper.

For the note cards, each has a mat of card stock that coordinates with the stamped greeting. To create the mat for the stamped image, punch a tailored tag in card stock, cut in half and adhere with liquid glue to the stamped image. All layers of the narrow note cards are adhered with liquid glue. These could easily be changed to standard 4¼”x5½” cards and add a piece of Night of Navy 3/8″ Corduroy Ribbon.

Waterfront Greeting for PCC283 Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday and welcome to the weekend! I’ll be working on some special projects as well as a trip to the nail salon for a manicure and pedicure, what colors will I pick this time? Don’t forget tonight here in Pittsburgh we “spring” ahead the clocks one hour for daylights savings time – the evening will start to have more light – yeah!!!

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge PCC283, you can see the banner for the design below.

This was a fun card to make, punches are an easy way to complete a card – I used four on this card:

Decorative Label Punch – Basic Black Cardstock
Tailored Tag Punch – Whisper White Cardstock stamped with greeting from Waterfront Stamp Set
Leaf Punch – with Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper & Silver Foil Sheet
Decorative Ribbon Boarder Punch – with Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper

A card base of Powder Pink with a mat of Basic Black and piece of Whole Lots of Lovely Designer Series Paper are the anchor for the card. Next is a strip of Basic Black with Glimmer Paper adhered to the bottom, layered with Silver ribbon and the label/tag punch images.

When using the Silver Ribbon to make a few loops I tacked them down with Mini Glue Dots. Finishing touches are Blue Glimmer and Foil leafs and a few Rhinestones sprinkled on the card.

Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper

Happy Friday, today I’m featuring the new Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper. Give spring an elegant spin with foil-designed, spring-inspired paper. Use the paper for cards, tags, boxes and more!

There are 12 sheets of 12″ x 12″ paper, three each of 4 single-sided designs, in gold foil, rose gold foil and silver foil. Get this $50 Sale-a-Bration item (with qualifying purchase) before it is gone.

I’ve seen this design on Pinterest by a variety of people and thought it was perfect to use with this paper.

Here is the first card made with Copper Foil sheet and accented with Rose Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper. Greeting from Rose Wonder is also heat embossed in Copper. To make the card I started with a Thick Whisper White card base and two Whisper White mats both cut at 4″ x 5¼”. Use one mat to cut out the diagonal area, then use the cut out piece to hand cut the designer paper which gets added to the second mat. Next, add thin strips of foil to the underside of the two Whisper White pieces before adding to other mat of Whisper White with Stampin’ Dimesionals. Greeting is heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder. Flowers where hand cut out of another of the paper designs and added for an embellishment.

Here is a second version of the card with two vertical panels and using glimmer paper vs. foil sheets. The greeting is heat embossed in silver and a little bow added as a finishing touch. Why not color in the leaves for a little added something something to the card!

Retiring In-Colors and Sale-a-Bration

Have a list of Sale-a-Bration products you would like but aren’t sure what Stampin’ Up! products to purchase, well I have a suggestion for you. While some of you are aware, others may not be – the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog starts June 1st of each year. Every year they retire one set of “In-Colors” and introduce a new selection of “In-Colors”.

In-Colors are a selection of five colors released for a two year period. This year the 2016-2018 In-Colors will be retiring and if history hold true, once the retiring list is announced, these products will fly out the door. If you are a fan of any of these colors, or need the ink refill to go with your stamp pad, now is the time to stock up on cardstock, ink and embellishments.

New SAB Blossoming Basket Bundle

Happy Monday, how was your weekend? No complaints here, it was bright and sunny, which always makes me feel good!

Mid February Stampin’ Up! introduced new Sale-a-Bration items and I just received mine this past week. Today I am featuring the new Blossoming Basket Bundle.

The Blossoming Basket Bundle includes the new Blossoming Basket stamp set and Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The folder size is 4 1/2″ x 6 3/16″ and will be available in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog June 1st).

For my first card I started with a Crumb Cake base and Bermuda Bay mat which was run through the embossing folder and wrapped three times with linen thread before being adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of a Metallic Foil Doily was tucked behind a basket which was stamped in Memento Black Ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends in Bronze, Bermuda Bay, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight centers. The bow was made with another Sale-a-Bration item, Shimmer Ribbon Pack (3 colors).

For this card I debossed side of the mat which was adhered to the card base with liquid glue. My Pink Pirouette ink pad was used to color a doily before adhered to the card. Basket and flowers was colored with Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends before being cut out with Paper Snips, then adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Greeting as stamped in Old Olive ink and adhered with a little liquid glue. Pearls and Glitter Enamel Dots finish off the card.

Heartfelt Bloom in Berry Burst

Oops, if you saw this post earlier today, you might have seen a bunch of letters saying nothing, that’s what my posts look like sometime before I finish them. Today’ post was on the completed list, apparently in error.

This Sunday I’m featuring a card made with the Sale-a-Bration stamp set (free with $50 US product purchase).

The stamp set is a beautiful, photographic bouquet in a gorgeous vintage look. A one-step stunner for all your projects! Stamp in one color or stamp in a neutral color then color using your favorite tools. The new distinktive stamp lay down the ink at different opacities, give the finished image more depth.

For my card I decided on using all one color and picked Berry Burst. Flower image was stamped randomly and highlighted with a Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon. Greeting is from the Ribbon of Courage stamp set and punched out with the Everyday Label Punch. The photo does not due it justice, it’s a stunner!

PCC282 meets card I had a dream about

Hope you all are having a great week, we are just a few hours away from starting the weekend, yeah!

So I have a story for you, this past weekend when I woke up I remembered a dream I had about a card I made. I checked through recent cards I made and it wasn’t there – that’s when I realized I needed to make the card. It had embossed vellum, a spring flower, metallic images and bright colors. Sunday afternoon I put together the card you see below. Imagine my surprise when the Paper Craft Crew Challenge for the week came out Wednesday and I realized this card fit the challenge, spooky right?

This week’s challenge is Tic-Tac-Toe and here is how my card qualifies:

Metallic – Elements of Springtime – Lemon Lime Twist
Emboss – Elements of Springtime – Birthday

The vellum is embossed and attached to a Dapper Denim mat. Before adhering together I die cut all the other pieces and figured their placement so that the mini glue dots would be hidden. Rhinestones at the end provided the perfect cover for the last few mini glue dots. Layering Square Framelits where used for the two frames in Peekaboo Peach and Lemon-Lime Twist. Amazing You stamp set (SAB $50 US item) was used for the Flower & image behind, both where stamped using Versamark, covered in Silver Embossing Powder and heat set. Layering Circle Scallop Framelits was used one the image behind the flower and the flower was fussy cut with Paper Snips and colored using a Stampin’ Blend Marker in Light Pumpkin Pie. Leaves are in Lemon-Lime Twist & Vellum using the leaf punch. Celebrate is from Celebrate You Thinlits (SAB $100 US item) using a Silver Foil Sheet as is the other silver die cut image from Petals & More Thinlits. The inside of the card is stamped with a Happy Birthday and the same flower used on the outside of the card.
