Coming Jan. 3rd – Picture Perfect Birthday !

It’s almost time! PCC273 Inspirational Challenge – Holidays

Happy Saturday, are you ready for the big day or still planning on running errands today and Christmas Eve? I’m hoping that I’m done as a do a final check on everything today. I’m the Broccoli Rice Casserole maker for Christmas and we always have Monkey Bread Christmas morning, better to know now if I’m missing an ingredient, then when I start cooking.

For my card, I decided on one of my favorite stamp sets with matching Thinlits – Santa’s Sleigh and for the greeting – Merry Christmas from the Half Full Stamp set. The Half Full stamp set is thanks to Million Sales Achiever Linda Bauwin, a set you can use to create fun tags and wrappings.

Emerald Envy is the perfect color for the tree and the sleigh looks great in Basic Black with a Gold Glimmer overlay. The packages where first stamped with Memento Black ink then colored with a variety of Stampin’ Blends, our new and improved Alcohol Markers. All images are layered on a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, matted on Basic Black and a Whisper White card base.

PCC272 with Ribbon of Courage

Hello there, hope you had a great weekend and are looking forward to a wonderful holiday season. I’ve just gotten back from a four day Girls trip “Christmas in Nashville”. Had a great time and will share a few pictures in a future post.

Today’s post is for the challenge over at the Paper Craft Crew blog.

First I would like to say thank you to the Paper Craft Crew Design Team for voting me as one of the Top Picks for PCC271, PCC269 and PCC266. If you click on the PCC### you can see the cards in their original posts.

This weeks challenge is a sketch – here’s the banner – click it for a link to check out their blog and play along!

For my card I decided on using a piece of paper from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper Pack and the rest just fell into place. The background was created using the Playful Background Photopolymer stamp set & Flirty Flamingo Ink. For both the leaves (Vellum card stock) and flower (Flirty Flamingo), I colored over the punched out pieces with Clear Wink of Stella – the Petite Petal Punch is in the Clearance Rack and great for small flowers. The banner end of the Old Olive was created with the Banner Triple Punch (just turn it over, center your paper and punch). The Ribbon and Sentiment are part of the Ribbon of Courage Bundle (designed by Million Dollar Achiever Patty Bennett). First I stamped the ribbon in Flirty Flamingo and then the sentiment in Memento Black. Basic Black Bakers Twine in a double bow finish off the card.

Pizza Box Gifts for my travel buddies!

Today I thought I would share with you the “Pillow Pizza Box” gifts I made for my travel buddies.

When you travel for a Stampin’ Up! event us demonstrators like to make what we call “pillow gifts” for those we are traveling with – something to surprise them with on their pillow at night. For this trip, while not a Stampin’ Up! trip and each of us having our own room – I still wanted to do something special for the girls and thought a Mini Pizza Box decorated and filled with 3″ x 3″ gift cards would be perfect.

Here is the outside of the pizza boxes, since I needed to pack them, I kept the decorations flat. You could very easily add ribbon and a tag for an extremely festive look!

Each box included five 3″ x 3″ card with matching envelope. Cards were easy to put together from Whisper White cut to 3″ x 6″ and scored at 3″. Mat’s are 2¾” x 2¾” and Designer Series Paper 2½” x 2½” using papers on hand. Thought a variety of occasions would be nice, including birthday, just for you and Christmas.

Non Traditional Christmas Colors

Today I thought I would share a fun card with you using a non-traditional color for a Christmas card – Berry Burst.

When I looked at this piece of paper from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series paper I thought of the tree in the Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits and how cute that would looked layer on it. I did not want to use a shade a green and Berry Burst (my favorite new In-Color) came to mind. I used a piece for the mat and before adding the designer paper die cut the tree. Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to adhere the tree and the deer with Silver Glimmer wreath was added with liquid glue. The greeting, heat embossed in silver on Basic Black card stock is from Santa’s Sleigh Stamp set (I cut the words apart). Finishing touch is a rhinestone nose to light the way on Christmas Eve!

Eastern Beauty for PCC271

Happy Monday, how was your weekend? These are always busy times in December and for me it’s only two sleeps until my girls trip to Nashville for Christmas – that should be a lot of fun!

My card features two products that are part of Retiring Favorites – Vintage Crochet Trim and Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, which shows these products are not just for the holidays. Two pieces of designer paper creates the mat for the card with a piece of trim wrapped around. Whisper White piece was run through the Big Shot using the Layered Leafs Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder, matted on Basic Black and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Corner embellishment was made using the Eastern Medallion Thinlits in Old Olive and Melon Mambo. Hello was stamped in black and punched out with 3/4″ circle punch.

12th Sunday of Christmas

Welcome to the 12th Sunday of Christmas. It’s never to late to make a holiday card, just look through your stamp sets and I’m sure you will see possibilities. Today I thought I would feature stamp sets you may have and how they can be used for holiday cards.

The two cards below uses the Medallions from the Eastern Medallions Thinlits (part of the Eastern Beauty Bundle you might have ordered this past May during the special). Add the greeting from Half Full and you have simple holiday card.

Who does not like a cute dog with a Santa hat? He’s from Bella & Friends and the hat from Cookie Cutter Christmas (Santa). The Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder adds interest to the card base.

This card features the stamp set You’ve Got This with a water-colored flower layered on Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. The Real Red flower gives more of a holiday look.

PCC270 Beachy Christmas

Happy Monday, hard to believe three weeks from today is Christmas, how close are you to being ready? I still have ways to go!

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch challenge. The banner below is the design for the card. While the image has flowers, my first thought was snowflakes, then decided to use one of the stamp sets on the retiring list – Beachy Little Christmas – which features two things I love the beach & Christmas! Click on the banner to check out the Paper Craft Crew blog and maybe even play along.

To make my card I started with a card base of Smoky Slate and mat of Bermuda Bay card stock. For my images I first stamped the tree and shells on a piece of Whisper White card stock using Memento Black ink giving them a few minutes to make sure good and dry before using my Stampin’ Blends to color the images, I even went over the tree branches with Old Olive and added Clear Wink of Stella to the shells and some of the ornaments on the tree. Next, using my Paper Snips roughly cut out the tree and shells. Using the tree for placement, decided were to stamp the house and once dry colored with Stampin’ Blends. I also stamped and extra house on a Post It Note, cut out and used to mask over the house as I stamped “bubbles” from the Playful Backgrounds Stamp set in stamped off Smoky Slate ink. The tree and banner was added using a mix of regular & mini size Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish off the card I added a few Pearl embellishments for holiday bling.

Remember Onstage Nov 2017 & 2018 Occasions sneak peek

May 2012 I became a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator when our stamping group was looking for a new demonstrator to attend a monthly stamping class with. With a full-time job I knew this would be a challenge, but my love of paper crafting and the idea of making some extra money to help pay for my supplies made me say yes! In July 2013 when I attended my first Stampin’ Up! Convention in Salt Lake City, one of things I remember was watching everyone walk across the stage for a variety of accomplishments, while I do my best for sales and recruiting, one the the items I knew was attainable for me would be my 5 year anniversary. Fast forward to November 2017, while the name of the event is now called OnStage, I knew the group with anniversaries (5-10-15-20 etc.) from April 2017 – October 2017 would get to be recognized and walk the stage – I just had to go! Below is a picture of me walking across the stage. It was so exciting to look out and see my fellow demonstrators clapping and cheering!

For my scrapbook page, I used colors from the Onstage backdrop, the Crafting Forever stamp set from the current Annual catalog and new 2018 Occasions Petal Palette Bundle (stamp set and matching Petals & More Thinlits Dies. The scissors and pot of brushes where stamped with Memento Black ink, colored with new Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut with paper snips to add a little dimensional to the page. I love using the Large Letter & Number Framelits for projects, the heart is from the Support Ribbon Framelits.

Below is one of the cards for an organized swap I participated in while at OnStage November 2017. Both the card and note pad holder (with pen with matching paper) feature products from the Naturally Eclectic Suite – Oh So Eclectic Bundle, Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper and Berry Burst 5/8″ Crinkled Seam Binding. The card also features Embossing Paste (colored and with glitter added), Decorative mask and Glear Faceted Gems. Leaves are from Painted Harvest and punched out with the matching Leaf Punch. In November at my stamping class I gave away a few of the note pad holders and the ladies are making them for holiday gifts this year for teachers and people they work with.

Next is a card and 3D Diaper fold Candy holder featuring products from the new 2018 Occasions Suite Petal Passion. This includes Petal Passion stamp set, Petals & More Thinlits, Petal Passion Embellishments, Whisper White 1/4″ Organza Ribbon, Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing folder and Petal Passion Designer Series Paper. To finish out the supplies is Berry Burst and Rich Razzleberry card stock and Stampin’ Blends. I even colored some of the flowers on the candy holder for added interest. As a demonstrator attending Onstage I was able to pre-order this suite in November, before other demonstrators in December and before the catalog goes live in January 2018 – one of the best parts of being a demonstrator, getting to purchase and play with the products early.

In our weekly demonstrator updates, there was a notice where they are looking for demonstrators to provide samples of new products for the next Onstage in April 2018. You are asked to put a post together with three cards, 2 3D items and scrapbook page. Thought since I’ve enjoyed this past Onstage I would give this a try. You have already seen 2 cards, 2 3-D items and my scrapbook page. While the card below is not related to Onstage or a new product release, it is one of the favorite Christmas cards I made this year. I thought this would be the perfect third card.

The card features Santa & Greeting from Cookie Cutter Christmas, trees from Card Front Builder Thinlits, Hearth & Home Thinlits, Wood Texture and Merry Music Designer Series Paper. I’ve made a few of these for our friends with kids.
