Happy Saturday, hope you are enjoying your weekend. This morning I went to the annual “Farkleberry Craft” Show to check out the crafts. I always enjoy seeing what others do. One women was selling scissor holders with a magnetic backing, I thought about how I misplace my scissors in my craft room and thought with this holder I can have them on my filing cabinet so I picked a cute dog patten, now hopefully I will not be misplacing my scissors more. Ialso purchased a homemade Pumpkin roll, yummy for the tummy.
Now on to the card for today, its a Tall & Skinny for the Mojo Monday sketch designed by Carole Burrage. Here is the sketch.
When I saw the sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the squares – add butterflies. I decided to do a 3.5″ x 5.5″ card (start with a piece of cardstock 3.5″ x 11″ and score at 5.5″) and got started on the design. One of my favorites is when Stampin’ Up has stamp sets with images that have matching punches and Kinda Eclectic does that. The stamp set includes two butterfly stamps which coordinate with the butterfly punches. In trying to decide about colors, I was thinking about my sister-in-law Debbie, purples is her favorite color so I decided on that color scheme. The card base is Elegant Eggplant, with a mat of Silver foil. The focal image on the left side is a piece of Moonlight Designer Paper layered on Hello Honey and backed with dimensionals to add some height for the horizontal piece of ribbon. Next are three squares accented with “Jewel Butterflies” spaced out. There is no sentiment on the front of the card, this way the card could be for almost any occasion – Birthday, thanks, get well or my favorite “just because”.
