Have you tried the Retiform Technique?

By | 19/08/2017

Happy Saturday, hope your weekend is off to a good start.

Today’s card features the Retiform technique. I’m sure some of you are asking what exactly is Retiform – well according to my Webster dictionary Retiform is “composed of crossing lines and interstices”, that’s rather technical but does explain the lines used to separate the different sections.

For my card, I used Post It Notes to block off a section, stamped the image and using Smoky Slate and a sponge dauber, colored in a slight line at the base of the Post It Notes for definition. Next, I covered what I just stamped with Post It Notes and moved the existing notes to a new spot creating another area to stamp and repeated the process until the entire piece of Very Vanilla was covered. The Very Vanilla is matted with Tranquil Tide on a card base of Smoky Slate.  Happy Birthday is from Rose Wonder, my go to greeting set, punch out with the new Everyday Label Punch (available September 1, 2017 in the holiday catalog), backed with a label punched in Tranquil Tide and Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.  Both the Tranquil Tide mat & label are backed with Stampin’ Dimensionals for depth.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, hope you are inspired to try making cards.
