Here is my first “Christmas in July” card and the timing is perfect, the week of Hallmark Christmas in July movies comes to an end Sunday night as I watch the movies and make my card. We just love Christmas, my husband and I start decorating mid November and enjoy having the house decorated by Thanksgiving. For my first Christmas card I decided on Real Red and Emerald Envy, with Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.
Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch PCC252 Challenge, inspired by 2017-2018 Catalog card sample on page 78. I was having a little creative block so I went for a swim Sunday afternoon and while relaxing in the pool the design popped into my head and when I got out, went straight in the house to create the card. Here’s how I created my card. I started with the Music Sheet background stamp and using Crumb Cake ink stamped it on Very Vanilla, which I matted on Emerald Envy and a card base of Real Red. Its hard to see on the card, but I stamped with swirl from Star of Light in Versamark and used Clear embossing powder for a slight glimmer. Next is the reindeer with a rhinestone colored with a red Sharpie to remind me of Rudolph, the most famous reindeer of all. The red frame was made using the Layering Squares Framelits. Tree has snow created by running the Fine-Tip glue pen along the edges and sprinkling Dazzling Diamond Glitter over it. At the bottom left is a little bear in a stocking, finished with a glimmer paper banner with a wreath and bow. The frame, was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensional and the new Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals are behind the top & bottom of the tree and glimmer banner.
