Cherry on Top Birthday!

By | 03/01/2016

Happy Sunday, hope all is well with you. Yesterday was one of those days were I just felt like cleaning out some cupboards/drawers/closets – as they say out with the old in preparation for the new. This included my craft space in preparation for the new 2016 Occasions and Sale-A-Bration products. I’ll be placing my order Tuesday morning. Are you looking forward to the start of the new catalog and all the cool new items? Stop back on Tuesday for a link to the new catalog and a card made with all new products.

One of the items I received for Christmas was  a print out of the family tree on my fathers side of the family. I tallied up the birthdays by month for my aunts, uncles and their families – in January there are seven birthdays, including mine and my brothers.  There are three months with seven birthdays, so I thought a birthday card was perfect for today.

To make my card for today, I started with a piece of Bermuda Bay cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″, for a top folding card.  Using a few post-it notes I adhered the stripes mask to the front half of the card and sponged Bermuda Bay over the open areas to create the background. Next is a piece of paper from the Cherry on Top designer series paper stack, adhered to the upper left corner with a similar border on the top and side. Sentiment is from the Tin of Cards Photopolymer stamp set in Bermuda Bay on Whisper White, matted with Bermuda Bay. In my stash I had vintage Watermelon Wonder Thick Bakers Twine which I wrapped around the top and added a double bow to finish it off. This piece is backed with dimensionals and angled on the card.

Have a great day, Craft On!
