Happy Birthday Baby Brother!

Happy 60th Birthday to my Baby Brother Michael!

We both had milestone birthdays this year and I’m sharing his birthday card with you today!

Seems like it was just yesterday we were little kids swimming in my parents pool with him not wanting to get his face wet and now we are both in our 60’s! Time sure does fly!

Love you baby brother!

For the card, I’ve made an accordion card with 60 candles! Candles are ¾” x 3″ and Songbird Builder Punch provided the flame!

Next, a picture of the card with all the panels, front to back.

View from the top. I’ve used pieces of designer series paper to join the 4¼” x 11″ pieces of card stock together. Each is scored and burnished at 5½”.

Finally, the end of the card with the last 6 candles!

I’ve repurposed a box I had by decorating with designer series paper to hold the card and sent it to him in a Paper Pumpkin Kit box.

Sunny Days SAB DSP

Atleast it’s not snow!

So, this morning I woke up to it raining. Automatically I thought of how the Playing in the Rain Stamp Set along with the Sunny Days 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper would make the perfect card!

The designer paper is a level 1 Sale-a-bration seleciton and the stamp set with coordinating die from the annual catalog.

Card specifics:

Card base – 4¼” x 5½”
Designer Series Paper – 5½” x 12″, scored at 2″, 4″, 8″ 10″
Measure down on the outside top edge 2″ and cut a triangle off (from the 2″ tick mark to the first score (2″).
Adhere piece you cut off to the bottom

Next, picture of the card open so you can see both figures that were stamped, colored with Stampin’ Blends and die cut. Each grass image was die cut twice and adhered to both sides of the fence for stability.

Fun Fold Friday – 3 Ways

Happy Fun Fold Friday!

Today I have 3 cards for you, each with the same fold, decorated the same way, but each slightly different!

Card Basics:

Card stock base – 4¼” x 5½”
Designer Series Paper – 11¾” x 5 ¼”
Score long side at 1¾” – 4¾” – 7¾”

Here is a close up of the front of all the card. I’m using the Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper, a level 1 Sale-a-Bration free selection with the Thoughtful Expressions Bundle. Stamped images can be colored with either water painters or blender pens.

First up is the card with all folds open. Left to right is a valley, mountain and valley fold. The 4″ x 5¼” is adhered directly to the card base.

Next, I’ve adhered the first two sections together. Make sure when you add the inside written panel that it’s hidden by the front decorative panel.

Finally, I’ve adhered all the panels together for a basic simple opening card.

Today is the first gathering of my Sunday Stampers in 2024.

Next, we have a Fun Fold request from Wendy. She saw one of the Christmas cards I made using this fold and requested a card like this. The middle section has both a die cut then embossing for texture and gives the card depth.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to me and my birthday buddies!

Today not only is a “milestone” birthday for me, but a birthday for my friends Cindy & Erin – my birthday buddies! I’m sure there are others out there who’s birthday is today!

I’ve created this card for everyone with a birthday today!

Finally, a card specifically for Cindy, the biggest Disney fan I know!

Measurements for the three sections:

Mat – 2 @ 1 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ (top and bottom)
Mat – 1 @ 1 7/8″ x 3 7/8″ (middle)
Designer Series Paper – 2 @ 1 1/2″ x 3 3/4″
Designer Series Paper or card stock – 1 @ 1 3/4″ x 3 3/4″

Add the layers directly to the card front or use a piece of foam adhesive sheet for stability.

Adhesive sheets make adhering the words together much easier and adhere to card front with or without mini dimensionals. Creativity is up to you!

Fun Fold Friday

Happy Fun Fold Friday!

Normally I create horizontal Z fold cards, but today it’s a vertical version of the card.

I’m also using the Most Adored 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Paper (Sale-a-Bration level 1 choice) that I’ve added Starry Sky ink to with a blending brush.

Card Measurements:

Card base – 6¾” x 8½”, score at 2 1/8″ and 4¼” on the 8½ side
On the 6¾” side cut off 1¼”, this leaves you with a 5½” x 8½” card base
On the large card base, mountain then valley fold
Add the smaller card stock piece to the bottom, The 4¼” piece is glued to the left side, close card and attached right side

Finally, a side view of the card that shows how the pieces all go together. I’ve used a pot from the Planted Paradise Photopolymer Stamp set on the right side of the Basic White inside card stock piece. Translucent Florals stamp set used for flower, leaf and greetings.

Watercolor Melon Stamp Set

Today I’m featuring the Watercolor Melon Stamp Set – one of the Sale-a-Bration level 1 choice.

These lovely watercolor images offer versatility for year-round card making, scrapbooking, and more. Try stamping your watermelon in two shades of green for a more realistic look: Start with a darker green ink, then rotate the image 180 degrees and add the lighter green ink. The seeds are solid, so you can simply stamp them in a dark color right over the top of the watermelon.

This is both a Distinktive and Two-Step Stampin’ Stamp set. Images have a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step, creating photo-realistic images.

First up is a card similar to one from the Sale-a-Bration brochure. Layers are die cut using the Deckled Rectangle Dies. Enjoy is from the Heartfelt Hello’s Stamp Set, a Sale-a-Bration level 1 choice.

Finally for my second card, I’ve switched it up and turned one of the images into a slice of pizza!

Enduring Beauty Bundle

So, we did not get any snow this weekend, but boy is it cold, single digit wind chill!

How about some cheerful cards using the Enduring Beauty Bundle.

The bundle includes the Enduring Beauty Stamp Set, the Enduring Beauty Dies, and the Enduring Beauty Decorative Masks. You have so many options with the bundle.

My first card uses just the masks to create the image for the card below. The designer paper mat is the Most Adorned 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper, one of the Sale-a-Bration choices.

Next, the image was created using the masks, then the photopolymer stamp was stamped over it in Memento Black ink for added details and depth. Festive Pearls finish the card.

Finally, for my last card I’ve stepped it up, adding a greeting from the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder, Gold foil die cut images and Iridescent pearls. The greeting has a Distressed Gold die cut behind it for a more dimensional look.

For this card above, the image is colored using Stampin’ Blend Markers, then stamped.

FMS618 Freshly Made Sketches

Happy Saturday! It’s getting cold and windy here, how’s the weather where you are?

Today I thought I would share a card made for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge 618.

When I first saw this sketch on Facebook, the leaf die from the Artistic Dies just popped into my head and I just had to make a card!

Sure, hope you love the color purple, though any color family would work nicely for this card.

Trusty Tools Bundle & SAB DSP

Happy Friday! Any special plans for the weekend?

Today I’m sharing two cards I’ve made using the Trusty Tools Bundle (stamp set and dies) along with the Trusty Toolbox 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. This paper is one of the $50 USD Sale-a-Bration selections. Some of the dies from the bundle cut out images from the 2 different image pages, other are easily cut with Paper Snips.

The first card has both a Gray Granite card base and piece of designer paper added as the mat. I’ve either die cut or fussy cut the tools, then using my trimmer, cut slits in the Poppy Parade DSP then tucked in the tools. Add Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals behind the top of some for depth.

Next, for my second card, I’ve stamped the images all over the designer paper, then using the peg board die, die cut the background. Greeting is stamped on designer paper, again cut out with one of the dies in the bundle. Wrench, nuts and bolt are die cut using the Holographic Trio Specialty Paper. I’ve stamped the inside with Happy Birthday – a perfect card for the DIYer in your life!

Bee Mine Suite – part 2

Today is a “card in a card” with the Bee Mine Valentine Bundle & Bee Mine 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.

I like to think of this as a “card in a card” fun fold. For the front, I’ve added a Scalloped Contoured Die Cut, using designer series paper added to card stock for a more stable piece. Use either card stock, designer series or both, like I did, to decorate the die cut.

For the bee, you can stamp with Daffodil Delight ink or punch out with Daffodil Delight card stock.

The card starts as your basic gate fold, 5½” x 8½” card base scored at 2 1/8″ & 4¼”. Then you add a 4″ x 10½” designer series paper, scored at 5¼” for the inside card.

Finally, a peek inside the “inside” card. I’ve added a flower, greeting and strip of designer series paper.

Bee Mine Suite Collection

So how much snow did you get this weekend? We received about 2 inches, but it’s melting already!

This week I thought I would start off with a couple cards using the Bee Mine Suite of products. While the stamp set is geared towards Valentine’s Day, I think it’s perfect for a birthday card or just letting someone know they mean a lot to you!

Here is a close up of the front of the card. I’ve used Basic White for the card base, not the thick.

I’ve used the new Mini Alphabet Dies for the I and U. The heart is the “wings” from the Bee Builder Punch.

Finally, a side view of the card.

Measurements for card base:

Card base = 10 3/8″ x 5 1/2″
Score 10 3/8″ side at 3½” and 8½”
Fold at the 8½” score line, make 1½” cut at the measurements below for the pop out:
- ½”, 1¾”, 2 1/8″, 3 3/8″, 3¾” and 5″
Add card stock to the back for signing the card

Some of my new favorites!

Today we are actually getting some snow, it’s the perfect day for my homemade beef vegetable soup!

I’m sharing two cards with you that incorporate three of my new favorite items, two from the Mini Catalog and one Sale-a-Bration item.

Layered Florals 3D embossing folder
Mini Alphabet Dies (one die with all the letters)
Flight & Airy 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-Bration)

The embossing folder is so elegant and looks great, both embossed on plain card stock or designer series paper. Mini Alphabet Dies are nice because in one pass all the letters are die cuts and for some letters there are two!

For the first card, I’m using Soft Sea Foam letter, backed with some adhesive sheets, for a cheerful card to let someone know you are thinking of them!

Next, I’ve used the Wanted to Say Dies for the word Celebrate. This card can be used for a variety of occasions, such as birthday, bridal shower or any special event.

Zany Zoo Bundle

Hope 2024 is off to a good start for you. We had a wonderful dinner yesterday of slow cooked pork roast, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes!

Today I have a card featuring the Zany Zoo Bundle and coordinating Zoo Crew 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.

Here’s a view of the card front, with a decorative die cut scalloped edge. The designer series paper is actually one piece cut in three pieces with the middle piece turned over.

Next, an inside view of the card. It’s hard to see since Basic Black card stock was used, but the left side is a pop-up box. The box is decorated with a Scallop die cut and image from the designer series paper (it has a matching die). For the inside, the Llama is also a die cut from the designer series paper.

Finally, a view of the envelope flap decorated with a piece of embossed Zoo Crew Designer Paper and the card together.
