Today I thought I would share the birthday card I made for my sister-in-law Diane.

The card is a basic Z-Fold and features products from the Sun Prints Suite Collection. I’ve not made one in a long time. This type of card lets you feature designer series paper, or even add die cut images.

Measurements:

• Main Card base 5½” x 8½”, scored at 2 1/8″ and 4¼”
• Smaller Card base 2¾” x 8½”, scored at 2 1/8″ and 4¼”
• Focal Image – 3¼” x 4¼”
• Designer Paper
  • Main card base 1 7/8″ x 5¼” and 4″ x 5¼”
  • Smaller card base – 2½” x 5¼” and 2½” x 1 7/8″

With Z-fold cards the smaller card base can be any width but needs to be 8½” long (same as main card base) and scored the same.

Today I’m sharing some cards make with the He’s the Man 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. The only stamping is using stamp sets on the inside.

The first card features a Mint Macaron card stock base.

This card features Basic White and Cajun Craze card stock.

My final card uses a Early Espresso card base with designer paper covering the entire 4¼” x 5½” of the card front.

Today’s card uses the new Masking Paper from Stampin’ Up! to die cut an image from the Slim Line Card Dies. These dies are retiring June 30th and reduced in price from $52 to $29.50! These dies are a nice addition to your craft supplies. Stampin’ Up! did carry the Slim Line Envelopes over to the annual catalog.

To make my card:

1. I’ve used the mosaic die and masking paper for the die cut and adhered to a piece of Basic White card stock.
2. Next using my blending brushes, added ink in various colors – just using the residual ink on the brushes for a soft look.
3. Remove masking paper.
4. Matted the Basic White on Basic Black card stock, then to a Fresh Freesia card base
5. Die cut “Thanks” from the Amazing Silhouettes Bundle. Used a piece of adhesive sheet for the Fresh Freesia thanks
6. 2021-2023 In-Color Opal Rounds for bling

How’s the weather where you are? It’s hot & humid here in PA.

Today I have three more cards for you using the Die Cut Masking Technique.

First card uses Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis. I’ve added a Vellum card stock die cut wreath from the Nature’s Print Bundle for a little sparkle.

For the second card, I’ve stamped the images in Memento Black and added Polished Pink, Granny Apple Green and Crushed Curry ink.

Finally, here is the first card I made using Forever Fern stamp set with this technique.

One of the cards my Sunday Stampers will be making this month uses the “Die Cut Masking” Technique – what is that you say?

For this technique I’ve used a stamp set with coordinating dies and using larger pieces of scrap card stock die cut the images out. With this step you are creating a stencil of the image.

Next, using a darker color ink, stamp the images on Basic White card stock, then using a blending brush and lighter color ink, put the stencil you created over the image and gently add the lighter color.

Colors for this example are:

• Melon Mambo
• Blushing Bride
