Last week when my Sunday Stampers met, someone asked about the Love of Leaves Stamp set and wondered about other color options and my reply was any color will work with the stamp set.  Normally you think fall colors and using a minimum of three colors, like the two cards below, well why not switch it up and use any color.

Today I’m showing you some Monochrome examples.  Each stamped unit is matted on matching card stock, then adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Any greeting works with the card, I chose birthday and sympathy to show how versatile the stamp set can be.

First up is a Highland Heather version, using ink and card stock that match. Greeting is from the Peaceful Moments Stamp set, but any greeting would work with this layout. Purple Tricolor Ribbon is the perfect accent for this card along with the Stitched Shape Squares.

Here is a Mint Macaron version I have turned into a sympathy card using another sentiment from Peaceful Moments stamp set, circle punch, Gold Stitched shape die cut and the Mint Macaron Basket Weave Ribbon from the Basket Weave and Metallic Ribbon Combo pack.

Sometime we just need simple cards and pack a punch and that’s what I have for you today. These are cards are each to put together, use any embossing folder, designer series paper and stamp set.

The basic layout:

• Same color card stock for both the card base  & mat (4″ x 5¼”)
• Whisper White or Very Vanilla – 3¼” x 4¼” for front
• Whisper White or Very Vanilla – 4″ x 5¼” for inside
• 3 strips of designer series paper 1¼” x 3″, add the top, bottom then middle

The first card features the Ornate Garden 3D Embossing folder, Flowers for Every Season stamp set, Many Mates stamp set and Flowers for Every Season Combo Ribbon pack. For this card I wrapped the ribbon around the center unit before adhering to the embossed card stock, then added the bow with a glue dot.

Next is a fall themed birthday card, perfect masculine card, featuring the Love of Leaves Bundle dies, Celebrate Sunflower stamp set, Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder and Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper. Greeting is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals, while both leaves are adhered with liquid adhesive.

Finally is a Christmas card using the Don’t Stop Believ’n Stamp Set, Tis the Season Designer Series Paper and Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. The little elf was colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers then fussy cut out with Paper Snips. For a finishing touch I used the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush on the lights to make then sparkle!

Merry Christmas is September – hard to believe there are only three months until the holidays!

Today I’m bring you are some card idea and gift idea’s so you can get started with some homemade gifts!

First up are two cards, a regular A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) and slim line card (mine is 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″), both are using the same design – pieces of coordinating designer paper with a banner/sentiment piece to cover where the two pieces meet. Once together decorate with your choice of punched out, die cut or embellishments.

How about a simple fancy fold card, featuring the good old boy himself, Santa Claus! While it’s hard to see in the photo, his hat has also been colored with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush for just the right sparkle!

How about a set of four cards using the Christmas Means More stamp set, featuring four different 3D embossing folders and various die sets. These cards would be great as a gift set or for personal use and they are easy to make and rather flat for mailing.

Here is a set of Dollar Store note pads (package of three 4″ x 6″) decorated with designer paper, tied with ribbon and tag – a perfect gift for family and friends and a great way to showcase designer series paper!

Earlier this month my godson Jason had a birthday and I thought I would share his card with you.

The card features the photopolymer set Mountain Air along with one of the Majestic Mountain dies, which coordinate nicely with the stamp set. This is a Reversibles (Patent Pending) stamp set; it includes specialized photopolymer stamps that allow you to stamp with both sides of the stamp for greater versatility. I’ve used the reversible stamps in the Mountain Air Stamp Set to create a striking outdoor scene. One side features a silhouette and the other side is a detailed image.

For additional interest on the card, both the mat and stamped images have been run through the embossing machine using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

Here are the layers:

• Balmy Blue card stock base and mat (dry embossed)
• In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (this layer is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals)
• Very Vanilla Card stock (stamp images then dry emboss
• Tree is Balmy Blue card stock and added with Liquid glue
• Greeting is from the Well Said Stamp Set, stamped in Night of Navy on strip of Balmy Blue card stock

Here is a side view of the card where you can see that I’ve copied the front with a mat of designer series paper and Very Vanilla card stock for stamping.

Happy Sunday!  Today I’ll be gathering with a few of my Sunday Stampers and I’m sharing our project with you today!

The first we have today is a Shaker Card using the Love of Leaves Bundle, along with the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper. One feature I really like about these dies are the stitching left around the die cut when cut out and the leaves even have an outline die and inside die piece for added details in your leaf.

Next is another card featuring all the images from the  Love of Leaves Stamp set which are randomly stamped all over the front Whisper White piece of card stock, Very Vanilla would would just as well.

Here are the colors I’ve used, but any of your favorite color combinations would be beautiful!

• Cinnamon Cider
• Bumblebee
• Pumpkin Pie
• Poppy Parade

The last project is a Slimline Christmas Card featuring the Poinsettia Petals Bundle and coordinating Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper. Slimline cards are long and thin and you can use either a popular #10, long thin envelope which measures 4 1/8″ by 9 1/2″ from a big box store, or you can make a handmade envelope.

Happy Birthday to my favorite niece Maya!  Hard to believe she is a freshman at college this year, seems like just yesterday she was this  little girl running to jump onto Uncle Dan’s lap when they visited.

Here is a picture of her from graduation this year.

Maya has always joined spending time with our dogs when visiting so I thought she would like a card featuring dogs for her birthday.  Today I sharing the card I’ve mailed to her, which she should have, it’s a pop up box card featuring the Playful Pets Products Suite of products. Greeting is from Peaceful Moments and hearts from Pampered Pets stamp set. This nice part about this card, is while it’s a 3D Pop Up Box card, it will fold flat to fit a standard medium envelope!

The boxes used for my box card are the basic 2″ – 4″ – 6″ – 8″ box, just without a top or a bottom. This means you start with a piece of card stock 8½” x how ever many inches tall you want it – score the 8½” side at 2-4-6-8 and use the ½” flap to join the sides together.

• Tallest box is 4″
• Two smaller boxes are 2″ tall
• 6 Squares – Basic Black mat – 1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″ and Designer Series Paper – 1¾” x 1¾”
• Pop ups for the pups are ½” x 1½” strips folded in half, one side with the image other to the box

Today I have another Fun Fold card for you, featuring what looks like two cards added together.

The card includes paper, a greeting and dies from the Boho Medley Product Medley with Gold Foil used for die cutting along with the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack for the double bow.  The nice part of this product suite is there is also a refill kit for once all the paper and die cuts.  Here is a what is included in the medley.

My card features three different patterns of paper, with even some added to the flap of the envelope. Greeting is stamped on pieces from the Stitched So Sweetly dies in Misty Moonlight and Very Vanilla. There is also a double bow, first the gold braid, then the Vanilla Open-Weave Ribbon, both adhered with Glue dots.

Here is a look at the inside of the card so that you see how the pieces are put together. While I added a small piece of Very Vanilla on the left of the inside mat, if needed the inside of the front can be used for writing to the recipient.

Measurements for the card:

• Base – 5½” x 7¼”, scored on the 7¼” side at 4¼” (fold is on the left side)
• 2nd Piece – 3½” x 7½”, scored on the 7½” at 3¾” (fold is on the right side)
• Inside mat – 4″ x 5¼” – add 2nd piece to the right side of the mat, then to the inside of the base unit
• Designer Paper on card front left – 2 7/8″ x 5 3/8″
• 2nd piece card front 3 5/8″ x 3 3/8″- mat is  and designer paper 3½” x 3¼”
• 2nd piece card inside 3 5/8″ x 3 3/8″

Hello today from rainy Cranberry Township, PA, a perfect crafting day.  This past week I have been enjoying as much pool time as possible after work before we have to close it up for the year.  So far the weather forecast is not looking like pool weather for the next 10 days.

Today I thought I would a Bridge Fun Fold card with you using products from the Playful Pet Product Suite. The nice thing about this card is that it folds flat to fit into a standard medium envelope.

Here are the basic measurements for my bridge card:

• Base section is 4¼” x 8″, score the 8″ side at 1¼” – 2½” – 5½” – 6¾”
• Front Bridge section – 1¼” x 5½”
• 4 small panels are 1¼” x 4¼” – cut card stock & designer paper based on how you want to decorate the card
• middle panel is 3″ x 4¼”

For my card since I wanted to feature the designer paper, both for the background and for die cutting and fussy cutting some of the images, I’ve used Thick Whisper White card stock for the base & bridge pieces. The gray dog is actually an image one of the dies can be used for (there is also a stamp image) and the other dogs have been fussy cut using my paper snips. Bone trinkets have been used to accent the gray dog and the bows.  Layering Oval dies where used for the greeting which is stamped with Memento Black ink.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful last weekend of summer. The weather here is beautiful, wish it was a little warmer so I could enjoy the pool, but I’ll take the sunshine and no rain!

Anyone who knows me, knows my love of purses, especially Dooney & Bourke bags. So this year for my birthday (which is in January) I suggested to my brother, after hearing some of the nieces possible college choices, that maybe Maya would pick a school Dooney has a purse for, in August Maya started at Virginia Tech.   My husband’s birthday is in August so they asked about a college themed gift for him (hat/shirt), never ever was I thinking about a purse.  So a box came for both of us, I thought maybe I would get a mug (it took 2 years for Jake to send me one) and figured Dan’s birthday present was in there as well, image my shock (wish I could have seen my face) when I opened my package and it was a Virginia Tech D&B purse, actually purchased at the school!  I am definitely the luckiest sister in the world (there are tears in my eyes as I write this)!  ♥

The card I’m sharing today is the one I sent Maya as a thank you and to welcome her to her first year of college.  I’ve used the All Things Fabulous Bundle and Stampin’ Up! colors Merry Merlot & Pumpkin Pie which remind me of Virginia Tech colors.  I even stamped a flower on the outside left corner of the envelope.

Here is a picture of me with my new Virginia Tech purse – I’ve been using it and just love it!

Even the boys had a gift in the box, here’s Nitro with the football tug toy!

Hard to believe it’s the last weekend of summer before Labor Day . . . not quite the summer we may have originally planned for, hopefully next year will be better!

Today I thought I would share two #simplestamping cards with you to celebrate the weekend.  These cards only use paper, ink and one stamp set for each, not every card needs numerous layers, die cuts and stamp sets to create.

Both cards have Thick Whisper White card stock 4¼” x 11″, scored at 5½” (top folding card) and use the same ink colors:

• Crumb Cake
• Sahara Sand
• Balmy Blue
• So Saffron
• Flirty Flamingo
• Pear Pizzazz

My first card features the stamp set Timeless Tropical and has a background created by of all things makeup brushes (which can be purchased from Amazon or your local big box store). I’ve lightly brushed color over the card front to look like a sandy beach, water and sunset sky. Next I inked the palm tree and stamped the image on the bottom left and greeting on the top right.  I’ve stamped a flower from the stamp set on the inside to tie inside and outside together.

The second card features the stamp set Waterfront for all images and the greeting, same colors from the card above where used.  For the houses, to get a darker image and since the stamp set is photopolymer I stamped over the image twice. Inside has a set of trees just like the front on the lower right corner.
