Color your ribbon to match your card!

Ever want a color of ribbon Stampin’ Up! does not carry, I know I have, well why not color your own?

That’s just what I did to have Pool Party ribbon to match my card. To do this, I cut a piece of Gold trimmed Metallic 3/8″ ribbon the size I needed and using my Pool Party Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Marker, colored the ribbon and bam! instant colored ribbon! What’s nice about using the Stampin’ Blend markers is they dry almost instantly, so you don’t have to wait for the ribbon to dry before using.

My card features a piece of Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Paper and Gold Glimmer paper, all on a Pool Party card base and the matching ribbon. The sentiment is from Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set, stamped in Berry Burst and colored with a Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker.

Happy Wishes & Colorful Seasons for PCC281

Happy Saturday and welcome to the weekend. We are suppose to have another wet weekend, I don’t know about you but rain rain go away come back another day – doesn’t the weather know we need sunny days on the weekend!

Todays card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch challenge PCC281 – Big Sentiment. Don’t forget to stop over and check out their blog, you might just decide to play along!

For my “Big Sentiment” I decided on “Happy” from the Happy Wishes, one of the $100 reward items in the Sale-a-Bration brochure. The main word is done in Early Espresso and the accent words in Flirty Flamingo, a nice spring color. The card base and mat are both Pear Pizzazz and the mat was run through the Big Shot using the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The rounded corners on both the Whisper White & Early Espresso pieces were done with the Envelope Punch Board and the Early Espresso was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals so that the Champagne Foil lattice piece could be slipped underneath. Used Wood Textures Designer Series Paper for the branches die cut from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits (part of the Colorful Seasons Bundle) and the chair (adhered with foam adhesive strips). Flowers were stamped in Flirty Flamingo, some adhered with liquid glue, other with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The bird (from Petal Palette) was stamped in Early Espresso and colored with a Pool Party Stampin’ Blend Marker. Finishing touches are rhinestone jewels on the flowers. Wouldn’t you just love to send or receive a card like this?

Have some fun with the Birthday Wit Stamp Set!

Today I thought I would share a few cards made with the Birthday Wit Stamp Set (wood or clear mount). Say Happy Birthday with a fun sense of humor with the Birthday Wit Stamp set. Here are the images from the stamp set.

For my card first I decided to stamp the greeting in all the 2017-2019 In-Colors and use the new Whisper White Narrow Note Cards with matching envelopes. Make someone smile with a note on one of these cute lil’ cards. Check with your local postal service on mailing options. Package includes 20 Thick Whisper White Cards (2½” x 4½”) and Envelopes (2¾” x 4¾”).

I first stamped the image directly on Whisper White in Memento Black and then stamped the same image in each In-Color on Whisper White cutting out each word. Once all the pieces were cut out I using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them on top of the black image. The Starburst Punch was used to line the envelope.

Next is the perfect card when you want to have some fun with the person you are sending the card to, maybe a fellow paper crafter or teen (when you include a gift card of course). The inside is stamped with “Your Welcome” one of the other stamps in the set.

Oh So Eclectic . . . Oh Hello Friend

One of my favorite bundles in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog is the Oh So Eclectic Bundle with features the Oh So Eclectic Clear or Wood mount Stamp set and the matching Eclectic Layers Framelits Dies.

The stamp set has quite the variety, there are so many textural variations in this 16 piece stamp set and when you pair it with the framelits (10 dies and 3 embossing pieces) there are endless possibilities!

For my card I stamped the flowers in Berry Burst and Emerald Envy, tapping the portion of the image in their respective colors before stamping on Whisper White card stock. I used my Aqua Painter to move the color around before cutting with the matching die. Myths and Magic Glimmer paper provided the Dazzling Diamond paper for the background die and the paper is from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper and stamped with one of the stamps in the set. The finishing touches include a double ribbon bow using the beautiful Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and sequins from the Iridescent Assortment.

On the inside I added an extra flower I had colored and die cut for something extra.

Sunday Stamper Cards for February 2018

Happy Sunday, hope you are having a good weekend. It’s been a crazy one around here. Yesterday I ran some errands, got a manicure and pedicure, prepared for my monthly Sunday Stampers and it snowed about 2″-3″. It’s hard to believe it was snowing last night when the sun shining, it’s 40 degrees and most of the snow has already melted.

My Sunday Stampers started the morning using the new Brusho Crystal Colours. These are watercolor ink crystals – sprinkle them directly on watercolor paper and watch the colors burst. There are many ways to use these Crystals, we did one card where we sprinkled the crystals and spritzed with water and we watched the colors explode after first embossing the butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set. The second card, we heat embossed the butterfly or flower from the same stamp set, using a clear block – sprinkled on some color crystals, added water and using an Aqua Painter colored in the image. The package of Brusho Crystals includes five pots of color: Brilliant Red, Gamboge (orange), Moss Green, Prussian Blue and Yellow. Each pot is .05 oz.

Next is a card using the Barn Door Bundle (comes in both Wood and Clear Mount stamps). The Barn Door stamp set includes 8 stamps and matching Sliding Door Framelits Dies includes 15 dies to be used with your Big Shot. The Hardwood background stamp was stamped on the card base and Champagne Foil Sheets used for the hardware mechanism on the door. Stampin’ Write Markers were used to color the wreath before die cutting. To make the door slide, #6 washers from my local hardware store.

The final card we made was using the Waterfront Photopolymer Stamp set. Create tranquil sceneries including lakes lined with trees, tropical islands or even snow covered forests. Ink colors used include Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Garden Green, Cajun Craze, So Saffron and Blushing Bride. Finishing touch is a Linen thread wrapped around three times and a bow.

PCC280 Card Sketch

This Wednesday was a rainy dismal day here just north of Pittsburgh, why can’t we just have snow in February? The rain makes everything messy especially when you have two German Shepherds who love to play outside. I thought why not make a cheerful fun card today which is what I did for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch challenge, check out their blog here.

For my card I started with a piece of Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper featuring the color Powder Pink. Before adhering the designer paper to a Powder Pink mat, I stamped some flowers from the Colorful Seasons Stamp set in Pool Party on the lower left corner. Next using another piece of the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Paper I punched out a Starburst Circle, which is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The glimmer leaves are from the Petal & More Thinlits using the Myths & Magical Glimmer Paper and Happy Birthday from Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set. The focal image – a Vellum Butterfly – was made using the Move Me Thinlits Dies, with the base colored over in Clear Wink of Stella and embellished with Glitter Enamel Dots in shades of blue.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today’s card features the super cute Party Panda’s Stamp set ($50 Sale-a-Bration choice item) in an Eclipse Card. First the three cute Panda’s were stamped and the hearts colored in. Next, using my Magnetic Platform to hold the framelits in place, I added the I and U from the Large Letter Framelits and a heart from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits and ran it through the Big Shot.

Sale-a-Bration Amazing You stamp set & matching thinlies

For my card, I die cut the word Amazing in Calypso Coral card stock and stamped the flowers on Watercolor Paper, colored using my Aqua Painter and cut out with my Paper Snips. Once I placed both ‘amazing’ and the flowers on the card were I wanted them I stamped Celebrate You in Garden Green to make sure everything lined up just right. Pearls added the finishing touch!

Magical Mermaid with water background

It’s going to be a rainy day here today so I thought a mermaid card was perfect!

Today I have cute card made from the Magical Day Bundle – The Clear or Wood Mount Stamp set with matching Magical Mates Framelits Dies. Send someone a fanciful dragon, a powerful wizard, bubbly seahorse, unique unicorn or a dreaming mermaid!

For my card I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock, Pool Party Ink pad and a Sponge dauber to create the pool of water for the mermaid and seahorses. She was stamped using Basic Black Archival Ink and colored with Watercolor Pencils using a combination of blender pens and my aqua painter to move the color around. Once colored, she was die cut and added to the card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Card base is Powder Pink and the mat is Fresh Fig card stock. For the greeting, I first inked the stamp in Powder Pink ink then using a new Sponge Dauber added Fresh Fig ink to the bottom portion before stamping. Finishing touch for the card was adding Iridescent Sequins with liquid glue.

Celebrate with PCC279

Happy Saturday, hope you’ve had a good week. For me it’s been a long week, between working 10-12 hours each day for the day job and having a bad week with my sinuses, seems like all I did was work or sleep, and I hate being a mouth breather! Last night was the first since Sunday when I didn’t have soup and toast for dinner. I’m finally feeling like myself again and it feels good. Just to show you how sick and tired I was, I thought a bag of Velcro Circles was Pom Pom Trim!

When I first saw the banner for this weeks challenge strings of beads was all I could think about. For my card, I decided to make strings of beads to use as the embellishment for the card. To create the string, I punched out the circles from the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch and using Mini Glue Dots adhered them to a piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine. Finishing touch is a double bow connecting the two strings.

Card base is Whisper White, mat is Elegant Eggplant and main stamped image was stamped with Crushed Curry, Elegant Eggplant & Emerald Envy using the Playful Backgrounds and Timeless Textures Stamp sets. For added depth the ‘Celebrate’ from the Celebrate You Thinlits ($100 item from the 2018 Sale-a-Bration catalog) was die cut three times and glued together using liquid glue before being adhered to the front of the card.

SAB Tutti Fruitti Cards & Envelopes

Sometime one of the hardest choices during Sale-a-Bration is deciding on which items to pick. Crafters sometime overlook card base & envelope sets, I’m here to tell you don’t – they help make quick and easy cards, add a simple greeting with some designer series paper and your done.

The post today is featuring the Sale-a-Bration item “Tutti Fruitti Card Base & Envelopes”. I’ve teamed them with the Tutti Fruitti 6″x 6″ Designer Series Paper Stack to create two quick birthday cards.

Pick the designer paper you want to use, add a mat in a matching color and you’re good to go!

First is a card featuring a greeting from Picture Perfect Birthday Photopolymer Stamp set, Layering Oval Framelits and a little fussy cutting. Oval is die cut before mat is adhered to the card base and bow is stamped and fussy cut using our sharp paper snips.

The second quick and simple card is using a piece of Tutti Fruitti Designer Series Paper matted on Basic Black card stock, die cut the Happy Birthday first using the Happy Birthday Thinlits. Adhere all to one of the Tutti Fruitti Card bases. This card is perfect for the Kiwi lover in your life.
