Have you tried the masking technique lately?

By | March 11, 2017

Lately I’ve seen a lot of buzz online about “masking” and thought I would share with you a couple cards I’ve made using this technique.  It’s a rather simple technique, were you create a “mask” to hide a portion of the paper or image and stamp on the open area.

For my cards, I die cut a circle using the Layering Circle Framelits and a piece of copier paper to create the “mask”. Next using post-it tape I adhered the mask over a piece of Whisper White card, then stamped away, starting with the lightest color to the darkest. Below uses Blushing Bride, Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry.

The card below uses So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Pool Party.  The Lighthouse and greeting is from the High Tides stamp set.

Why not try this technique today, it’s fun with so many possibilities!
