Happy Monday, hope you had a nice relaxing weekend. Here is southwestern Pennsylvania it was more like a fall weekend than summer, highs only in the low 70’s. Saturday was filled with errands and I spent some time Sunday doing a little crafting, including making todays project.
When I first saw the Paper Craft Crew Inspirational Challenge – Backyard BBQ, I was rather stumped on what to do. While laying in bed Saturday night, the June 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit came to mind and I finally knew what I was going to do. Here is a close up of the gift bag and crate of watermelon. When thinking about the kit, I remembered you make watermelon slices, the perfect cool treat at your backyard BBQ. I used Thick Whisper White to stamp some slices of watermelon, hand cut them with my paper snips and used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to hold them all together for presentation. Used a darker shade of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper for the crate and lighter sheet for the chair (my husbands idea when he saw the crate of slices) which is adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting, Melon Mambo bakers twine and Lemon Lime Twist clips are all from the kit. I’m really pleased how this turned out, now I need to go buy some watermelon – it’s made me hungry for some!
