GDP001 – Butterfly Birthday

By | September 12, 2015

Happy Saturday, its much cooler and rainy here today compared to what it was like last week (hot, humid & sunny). It’s the perfect day for some crafting (I have a special birthday card to make for next Saturday) and make something warm and comforting for dinner, just not sure what that is yet.

Today’s post is for a brand new card challenge site formed  with Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the world called “The Global Design Project“.   The Design Team is from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Germany and of course the United States. Here is the banner for the first challenge:

When I first say this on a fellow demonstrators website I knew I wanted to participate in the first challenge but the Pink Pirouette posed a problem, I had the ink pad & refill, just no card stock – so what did I do – make my own. First I re-inked my stamp pad, then used a piece of the new Thick Whisper White card stock swiping my ink pad over it a few times and let it dry. I used this to die cut the butterfly before I used Versamark and Clear Stampin Embossing Powder to make it shine.

The design for my card, which is a fancy fold, is a Tunnel Card. You use a square framelit to create the window the way the inside white is folded provides the tunnel effect. Stamp sets used on the card are Butterfly Basics for the white front and inside, then Happy Birthday on the front from Birthday Blossoms.  The flower from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack not only added some accents to the front but helped me cover a ink spot on inside, three cheers for our punches. This was a fun card to make, hope you like it.
