FMS160

By | November 3, 2014

Welcome to the beginning of the work week.  Hopefully that extra hour of sleep yesterday is not dragging you down today. Sunday was a rather productive day for me, I spent about 4 hours organizing my craft space.  Need to get started on holiday cards and its a lot easier when things are organized.

My card for today is a design by Rita from Freshly Made Sketches, you can see the sketch below.

FMS Final 160-001

For this card, I decided to try something a little different so that the background and embossed banner had the same pattern, but a different look. For the background, I took the Lucky Stars embossing folder and on the raised image side, tapped on some Versamark Ink. Then I put a piece of Basic Gray cardstock in, closed the folder and pressed down slightly causing the image to roughly emboss on the cardstock. When I removed the cardstock, sprinkled on some Crushed Curry embossing powder and heat set it. I die cut a banner, piece of designer series paper and a few circles in coordinating colored and adhered to the card. The Tangelo Twist has an image from Amazing Birthday embossed with Pewter powder and back with a dimensional.

This is such a fun and bright card! Love how you’ve connected things by repeating the stars – dry embossed and heat embossed. Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
