PCC241 Card Sketch with Flower Patch

Hope you are having a great weekend, it’s rather warm here today – mid 80’s, sunny and humid, they say by Wednesday it may be around 60 degrees.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge and I’m featuring one of the retiring stamp sets, Flower Patch, a photopolymer set featuring 19 stamps with a set of matching framelits Flower Fair, which are a separate purchase and includes 11 dies.

Flower Patch has all the shapes and sizes you’ll want plus great greetings and several stems for endless possibilities. This is a Two-Step Stampin’ set, which gives you so many creative options–combine individual stamps to build the final image you want in the colors you want. For my card, I decided to use the Party Animal Embellishments and matching Designer Series Paper.

Here is the sketch for the challenge, click on the image for the Paper Craft Crew blog post.

To create my card I first decided that I want a Tangerine Tango flower with Pacific Point leaves, so I stamped with image with newly re-inked stamp pads for a clear crisp image, next I die cut them out. The 4.25″ x 5″ of Party Animal Designer series paper is on a mat of Pacific Point card stock and a Tip Top Taupe card base. The layering squares framelits where used for the scallop square and designer series paper square in the center of the card. The flower was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and leaves with liquid glue. Sentiment banner was adhered with a Stampin’ Dimensional on the far right side and glue dot on the left. Party hat embellishment was adhered with mini glue dots as was the bow. To finish off the card are a few rhinestones.  Currently rhinestones are sold out but returning June 1st in the new catalog with a different configuration.

Some of the supply products used are on the retired list, may be sold out and are only available only while supply lasts. Retiring stamp sets are available until May 22nd, then while supplies last. Numerous products can be substituted to recreate these cards.

In conjunction with the Retiring List, I’m excited to share my very own promotion from now until May 12th.   When you spend at least $50 with me and add your order to the current Hostess Code (QVUEB26H), I’ll happily send you:

Love these BOLD colors!

Love the bright colors of this card!

  • Bermuda Bay
  • So Saffron
  • Calypso Coral
  • Early Espresso

Today’s card  features the Happy Celebration stamp set along with the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack and Embellishment Kit. Just love how this turned out. The doily was cut in half and backed the focal image of the stamped smooshes ( not sure what else to call them) then celebrate was stamped over in Early Espresso using a freshly inked stamp pad. The finishing touch is cute Calypso Coral bow!

Scraps = Cool card layouts

Todays cards show how you can use some of those scraps you have laying around your craft space. One card is a top folding 4¼” x 5½” and the other is side folding with the same measurements.

This Fresh Fruit card features six strips ¾” x 3¾” adhered to a mat of 4″ x 5¼”, which then is backed with dimensionals and adhered to the card base.  Any of the fruit in the set could be used for the background of the greeting and you could even heat emboss the greeting for a more intense look.

This card features scraps of Serene Scenery Designer series paper, which unfortunately is sold out, but you can use any scraps the measure 5″ long and about 1 ¼” wide will work. Adhere the outside two first then center the third in the center to a base 4″ x 5¼”. Focal image of the deer was stamped off in Soft Suede and greeting stamped full strength.

I just love how these came out. Why not create a beautiful handmade gift of a series of these cards all with different designer series paper scraps, the recipient is sure to love them!

Some of the products used are on the retired list and may be sold out and are available only while supply lasts. Retiring stamp sets are available until May 22nd, then while supplies last. Numerous products can be substituted to recreate these cards.

How about a little water coloring today?

Today’s card features water coloring, something I really am starting to enjoy. In scoping out Pinterest I came across a few designs like this and thought I would mix them up for this card.

The image from Birthday Blooms was first stamped in Archival Basic Black and let to dry while I heat embossing in white Happy Birthday from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set.  The Sunshine Sayings Bundle is retiring but both products will be available for separate purchase – save 10% and grab them today.

Once the image was dry, using my Aqua painter and ink a smooshed on the lid of my ink pad I colored in the flower. After letting the flower dry, I painted Smoky Slate around entire water color paper. The dried water color paper was adhered to a mat of Rich Razzleberry card stock, Happy Birthday banner was attached and Smoky Slate ribbon tied around with a bow.  Card base is Smoky Slate.

Some of the supply products used may be on the retired list, may be sold out and are only available only while supply lasts. Retiring stamp sets are available until May 22nd, then while supplies last. Numerous products can be substituted to recreate these cards.

April Sunday Stamper Cards

Happy Sunday! Today I will be stamping with my Sunday Stampers and thought I would share with you the cards we will be making. I’m using some of the retiring stamp sets and designer series paper, just remember any paper can be substituted to create the same card.

Sympathy cards are not something anyone likes to make, yet we all need them. I was asked if we could make some this month and I decided on two, one using the Wetlands Stamp set (which is retiring) and one using Rose Wonder. Either card could be used for various occasions. The Wetlands stamp card, is my go to design – sometime I use masking and sponge daubers for the background or even a swoosh style stamp. The ever famous Lovely as a Tree stamp set works well for this design as well. The choice of ribbon, bakers twine or even linen thread can take the card from masculine to feminine very easily.  The Rose Wonder card showcases a simple use for designer series paper, a label and a few die cut pieces, add an embellishment and you are done.

Since so much of the designer series paper is retiring I thought it would need if each person used a different paper for their It’s time to Celebrate card with matching handmade envelope. Don’t know about you but its been awhile since I used the envelope punch board and forgot just how much fun it can be!

When I’m planning cards for my class quite often I make samples using retired or scraps of various papers to make sure I have all the dimensions correct and like the final product. As you can see from the photo below, the Celebrate card, with the panels, works both at a vertical or horizontal layout, just adjust the size of the sentiment layer and it’s mat to work with the wording of your choice. Members of my mailing list will be receiving the dimensions for all cards today.

Remember some of the products used are on the retired list and available only while supply lasts. Numerous products can be substituted to recreate this card. All retiring stamp sets are available through May 22nd, then while supply lasts.

In conjunction with the Retiring List, I’m excited to share my very own promotion from now until May 12th.   When you spend at least $50 with me and add your order to the current Hostess Code (QVUEB26H), I’ll happily send you:

PCC240 a Sketch Challenge

So how are you today?  I’m not bad, it’s Friday and I took a vacation day!  Last night we were with friends watching the Pittsburgh Penguins win round 1 of the Stanley Cup finals. I was hoping to sleep in today and I did, a whole 45 minutes. For some reason the dogs just don’t understand “sleep in” and need to go outside at the scheduled time each morning, oh well, weather was nice and I watched the sun rise.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge, click on the image below to check out their blog and see what idea’s their design team came up with, you might even decide to play along.

For my card I started with a card base of Tip Top Taupe, one of the retiring In-Colors and pieces of the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper. The greeting is from Beautiful You stamp set (you know the set with the lady dancing in the rain!). I stamped the greeting in Old Olive and used a Stitched Shape Framelit to die cut it and backed it with a Layering Scallop Circle Die Cut.  The Decorative Label punch was used to create an interesting finish to the tab at the top right of the Whisper White paper, a little paper clip finishes it off.

Some of the products used are on the retired list and are available only while supply lasts, unfortunately some are already sold out. Any combination of designer series paper can be substituted to recreate this card.

In conjunction with the Retiring List, I’m excited to share my very own promotion from now until May 12th.   When you spend at least $50 with me and add your order to the current Hostess Code (QVUEB26H), I’ll happily send you:

Embellishments = Easy card

Do you have any embellishments sitting around,  if not the Cupcake and Carousel Embellishments kit along with the matching designer series paper made for quick and easy card.

To start the card two strips of designer series paper where cut and one end punched with the Triple Banner Punch, then layered together. Next baker’s twine & ribbon there wrapped around the top and secured in the back with mini glue dots, the piece was then backed with Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered to a Very Vanilla card base (4.25″ x 11″, scored at 5.5″ for a top folding card). Using one of the labels from the embellishment kit, You are Amazing was stamped in Bermuda Bay and adhered to the banner. Finally a bow from the kit was adhered with Gold Metallic Enamel shape in the center to match the gold trim of the label.  For the inside, you could stamp a variety of greetings based on how you want to use the card: birthday, thank you, congratulations – sky’s the limit.

Note: Some of the products used are on the retired list and available only while supply lasts. Numerous products can be substituted to recreate this card.

Today I have a birthday card for you featuring the Sweet Cupcake Photopolymer Bundle, while the bundle is retiring, both the stamp set and framelits  will be available in the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog which goes live June 1st.

The the Cupcake sits on has a light watercolor wash in Blushing Bride (on watercolor paper) and after I used the embossing folder I smoothed out the images for a softer look using a bone folder and light pressure. The label is backed by Stampin’ Dimensionals for depth. Metallic enamel shapes in gold add a little touch of bling to the card. This is a perfect birthday card for the cupcake lover out there!

To create my card I started with a mat of Pool Party card stock with a 2″ strip of Cupcakes & Carousel Designer Series Paper adhered about 1″ down. The Birthday to you! at the bottom was stamped in Early Espresso before Happy was adhered.  The entire piece is adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Any guesses as to what stamp sets will be retiring to make room for new one’s?   As a demonstrator I will also have access to the new 2017-2018 catalog online,  just another great perk of being a demonstrator.

Today’s card uses the Oh so Succulent Bundle, Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper, Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Oval Framelits. The Succulents were watercolored and topped with Clear Wink of Stella.

Cool Watercolor Background

Happy Friday, today I thought I would share with you a card with a really cool watercolor background using watercolor paper, aqua painters and re-inkers.

To create the background I put a few drops ink on a disposable plate and added a few drops of water. Next, I spritzed water over the watercolor paper and using my aqua painter swooshed color light to dark across the paper. Once the paper was dry I adhered the batch of Dragonflies in Daffodil Delight and stamped the greeting. With this greeting the card can be used for any occasion.

Hope you liked the card, why not try this technique today!

PCC237 Sketch Challenge

Happy Monday, hope you had a nice weekend. Saturday it was cold and rainy then Sunday was sunny and much warmer. We spent sometime Sunday working on the “mud bowl”, better known as the back yard. With all the rain we’ve had the last couple months and the dogs running around we needed to put down some grass seed and cover it with hay, with any luck new grass will start growing soon and the dogs will stay a little less muddy.

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew card sketch challenge. Click on the image below to be directed to their blog so that you can see the great cards designed by their design team, you might even decide to play along.

The background of my card is a piece of watercolor paper with an Emerald Envy wash in the middle. Once the paper was dry, I used versamark and gold embossing powder to create the splattered look using a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. The watercolor paper was adhered to a mat of Delightful Dijon cardstock and put on a card base of Very Vanilla with Stampin Dimensionals. The banner is from the Moroccan Designer Series Paper, the stamped image in Delightful Dijon is from the Moroccan Nights stamp set. Happy Birthday is from the Fresh Fruit stamp set and also gold heat embossed. The petite petal punch, 3/4 inch circle punch and tree Builder punch created the flower on the upper left corner. A gold metallic shape finishes off the center of the flower.

To go along with the card is a handmade envelope made from Moroccan Designer Series and the Envelope Punch Board. Why not make a card with matching envelope today?
