Stacks of Ice Cream 2 Ways – Birthday & Holiday

Don’t think a stamp set can only be use for the intended occasion, today I will show you how the Sweet Cupcake Bundle can be used for the type of card you know it’s meant to be, a Birthday card, but also for a holiday card. Today’s  holiday of choice is Halloween.

The “ice cream” or frosting stamp is done using two of the three stamps in the Sweet Cupcake stamp set and the same ink color. First image is stamped off (ink up stamp, stamp on scrap paper then on good paper) then second layer is stamped in full strength ink.  Matching framelits were used to die cut the ice cream on both cards. Each layer has been adhered with Stampin Dimensionals. Only the base was stamped directly on the Very Vanilla or Whisper White paper.

For the portion of the card with the image the measurements are:

  • Card stock – 3″ x 5″
  • Designer Series Paper – 2¾” x 4¾”
  • Very Vanilla & Whisper White for image – 2½” x 4½”

Birthday card featuring Moroccan Designer Series Paper, Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze and Dapper Denim ink.

Halloween card features Emerald Envy, Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie inks and the new Halloween Nights Designer Series Paper, Halloween Nights Bakers Twine and Halloween Treat stamp (I stamped the image and hand cut out the Trick or Treat).

PCC212 Color Challenge with Paisleys & Posies

Hope you all had a good Saturday, we went to our only concert of the ‘summer’ Jason Aldean and had a great time. Opening acts were One Thousand Horse and Thomas Rhett, they all put on great shows.  Since the weather was so nice yesterday we even went earlier and tailgated!

Today’s card is for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge, a Color Challenge.  When I saw their post it was the same day I received my order with the new Paisley & Posies Photopolymer Bundle and thought the colors and this set would make the perfect card, which I am sharing with you today. The bold color choice is beautiful together for a background.

To create my card I started with a piece of Whisper White and using images from the stamp set using the largest image and Night of Navy, followed by Tangerine Tango and Crushed Curry. The smaller images are in Emerald Envy to fill in spaces. This piece is adhered to Night of Navy, backed with Stampin Dimensionals and adhered to a Tangerine Tango card base.  The greeting is from Confetti Celebration, stamped in Night of Navy and die cut with an oval from the new Layering Ovals Framelits, the scalloped oval is also from the same set.  Linen thread was rolled up, adhered to the card with glue dots then the greeting set on top.  I really like how this came out, the colors really work well together.

This same background process can be used with a variety of colors and greetings.  How about greens and red for Christmas, pastels for baby, orange/purple/green for Halloween, I’m sure you see the themes here!

Simple Saturday with Acorny Thank You

Happy Saturday, welcome to the weekend.

It’s Simple Saturday, where I use one stamp set to create my card.  Today’s card uses the Acorny Thank You Photopolymer Stamp set found in the Annual Catalog along with it’s matching punch. This is the perfect card to make for the first weekend of fall.  After 88 degrees yesterday it feels more that a fall morning at 62 degrees.

To start my card, I matted a piece of Moroccan Designer Series Paper on Dapper Denim, then adhered to a card base of Very Vanilla. Next using the colors in the paper pack, Dapper Denim, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon and Emerald Envy, I stamped bottom and tops of Acorns using different stamps to create the acorns.  The acorns on the left and right are adhered directly to the card with the one in the middle back with dimensionals. The greeting is stamped in Dapper Demin, hand cut into a tiny banner and adhered with liquid glue.

Simple Saturday with Birthday Blooms

Welcome to Simple Saturday were I use one stamp set to make one card. Today I’m featuring the Birthday Blooms Stamp set, which comes in wood or clear and the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper.

To make today’s card I’ve used a Whisper White card base with a piece of designer series paper matted on Melon Mambo. Next I stamped the sentiment and used one of the nesting Layering Circles Framelits to die cut it out, this piece is then adhered to a scallop circle die cut from the same Layering Circles Framelits. Thought this piece needed a little something extra so I stamped three flowers (two using the stamped off method) and added small rhinestone for some bling, this piece was then adhered to the card with Stampin Dimensionals.

  • Melon Mambo – 3 5/8″ x 3 5/8″ square

Would you like to be part of the Stampin’ Up! Family?

One of the nice things about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator (besides meeting the nicest people) is that you can work it around your life and not the other way around.  Some demonstrators are full time, meaning it’s their main job but for me it’s different, I have a full time job in accounting and finance that keeps me rather busy Monday through Friday.

But, I LOVE to create, stamp and share my love of stamping with others!  In fact, the group of ladies I stamp with every month asked me to join Stampin Up so I could be their demonstrator when our demonstrator decided to go down a different career path.

Creating projects to share and making with both you and them each month makes me happy!

Since we see each other every month, there’s no presentation.  It’s not the standard party where Stampin Up is new to the attendees, my ladies already know how great the products are. Of course if asked, I’m happy to do a private party. It’s fun for everyone because over time, everyone gets to know each other, we swap stories and do a show and tell of the projects created.  Being a demonstrator gives me the opportunity to earn some extra money and purchase products with a discount.

Even if you don’t want to host events, you can join as a hobbies and still enjoy all the perks.

Each year since I’ve joined Stampin’ Up!  I’ve taken vacation time from my day job to meet with other stampers, including members of my up-line and stamping community 24/7 stampers for convention (now called OnStage) in Salt Lake City.

I’ve been part of the 24/7 Stampers team for over 4 years. For my 5th anniversary, Stampin’ Up! is going to give me some special points that I can cash in on free stamps, accessories or maybe even a free trip or to the convention in Salt Lake City.

Some of the benefits:

  • Demonstrator discount (20-25%)
  • Flexibility in setting your own hours and working from home
  • Support from creative resources including a quarterly magazine, demonstrator website filled with training, Stampin’ Connection and the Demonstrator Business Web Services.
  • Beautiful, exclusive artwork and high-quality products for you and your customers.
  • A low-cost, high-value Starter Kit.
  • Opportunities to see and purchase new Stampin’ Up! products first.
  • The Quick Start program, where you can earn FREE products.
  • Stampin’ Up! events, where you stamp, learn, and have a blast with your fellow Stampin’ Up! lovers!
  • A worldwide stamping family!

Simple Saturday with Wonderful Year

Welcome to Simple Saturday, one stamp set for one card. Today I am featuring the Wonderful Year stamp set, which comes in both wood and clear mount.

I’ve not done much heat embossing lately and thought the new Copper Stampin Emboss powder along with the Presents & Pinecones Designer Series Paper went together nicely which gave me the idea for todays card.  The card base is Emerald Envy with a piece of designer series paper as a mat. To get started with the heat embossing I ran my embossing buddy over the Whisper White cardstock to eliminate static, stamped greeting with Versamark ink, sprinkled with copper powder and heat embossed, this piece was then adhered to a mat of Emerald Envy cardstock. This piece was adhered to the card with Stampin Dimensionals. For a finishing touch, I used the Petite Petal punch to create a flower from Cherry Cobbler cardstock, adhered with a glue dot and rhinestone in the center.

Simple Saturday Sept 10

Measurements:

  • Designer Series mat – 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″
  • Emerald Envy mat – 4 1/4″ x 2 3/4″
  • Whisper White for sentiment – 4 1/8″ x 2 5/8″
  • Cherry Cobbler scrap for flower

Stamp Ink Paper #64

We sure have had a strange week of weather, the last few days mid afternoon while the sun was brightly shining the rain came pouring down for no more than about five minutes, with rainbows following. For some reasons rainbows always make me think of family and friends who have passed away and puts a smile on my face.

It’s been a while since I’ve participated in any blog challenges, but when I saw the Stamp Ink Paper challenge banner and the title Clean & Simple I knew I needed to participate as a card just popped into my head. Click on the banner for a link to their blog to see other cool creations.

To me clean and simple is a white card with minimal stamping. For my card I used a Whisper White card base, with an additional piece of Whisper White stamping the greeting in Night of Navy. Before stamping I wiped the ink off the little heart at the bottom of the stamp and added a Sweet Sugarplum Enamel Heart. For a final touch I spritzed a little Sweet Sugarplum ink on the card.

Have you used your envelope punch board lately?

Say it isn’t so, you haven’t used your envelope punch board for awhile, or worse you don’t have one. Just look at these cute totes you can make using one. They are perfect for the holidays or just about any reason.

Last week I received my email from SplitcoastStampers, a stampers community and when I saw these cute little totes Susan Campfield was sharing with us, I need I had to break out my punch board and make a few!

They are darling and use one piece of designer series paper cut to 6″ x 6″ plus pieces to embellish. I can see mine filled with candies or even a Stampin’ Up surprise.

Here is a side view of the three different Envelope Punch Board Tote’s I made using Playful Palette DSP, A Little Foxy DSP and the Present & Pinecones DSP. Each has different embellishments and closures.

Happy Birthday Jason!

Today’s card is the birthday card I sent my godson Jason this year. Even though he is 16 years younger than me, you are never to old for a spinner card, they are fun for all ages. So, how old am I, let’s just say I was in high school when he was born.

The card features the Sliding Star Framelits Dies, Confetti Celebration and Balloon Celebration Stamp set. This card was not only decorated on the front, but the inside, which is below.   If you click here, you can see a post on just how to put a spinner card together.

Jason Bday card front

Inside of the card has a greeting from Confetti Celebration stamp set in Bermuda Bay and Balloons from the Balloon Celebration Photopolymer stamp set. The balloons where stamped first using the “stamp off” technique in Smokey Slate then full strength in either Bermuda Bay or Calypso Coral for the dots.  Stamp off is a technique where you ink the stamp, stamp on scrap paper first then the good piece of card stock, this provides a lighter version of the color.

Simple Saturday featuring Halloween Treats

Welcome to Simple Saturday, one stamp set for one card. Today I’m featuring the new “Halloween Treat” stamp from the 2016 Holiday Catalog.

Today’s card features some of the new products from the Halloween Night Product Suite:

  • Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper (includes 1 each of 2 single sided silver foil designs)
  • Halloween Night Designer Washi Tape
  • Halloween Night Baker’s Twine

Making this card was rather easy, using Pumpkin Pie ink I stamped the image on Whisper White card stock and used my paper snips to cut it out leaving a small white border.  Next, on the Whisper White card base I adhered a piece of the Halloween Night Designer Series Paper and added two pieces of Washi tape for added dimension. The stamped image is adhered with a few Stampin Dimensional and a baker’s twine bow finishes off the card.  Other uses for this stamp are treat bags, with these few simple items your Halloween card/gift making can be met.
