Let’s Celebrate a Shaker!

Happy Sunday, hope you are having a nice weekend.

Today’s card features the Confetti Celebration Stamp set and Sprinkles Punch to create a Birthday Shaker card. One of the Scalloped frames from the Layering Squares Collections Framelits create the window for the card. Shaker items are all in the 2015-2017 In-Colors with Gold foil and sequins added for bling.

Card base and matching ink are Mint Macaron and the Hooray in the Shaker was stamped in Watermelon Wonder.  I used a piece of Whisper White slightly smaller than the card front and stamped the Hooray first, added the “Sprinkles” on top and then added the card top to create the Shaker, this piece was then adhered to the card base. The Whisper White banner is from the Oh Happy Day Card Kit.

Simple Saturday with Watercolor Wings

Welcome to Simple Saturday – using just one stamp set to create your card.

Today’s card features the photopolymer stamp set Watercolor Wings. When I was looking around by stamp room I realized I’ve not used this set for awhile and thought it would make a great Simple Saturday card. With this set you can stamp two different sizes of butterflies using the three stamp method – stamping light to dark. This card keep it simple with one butterfly stamped in the middle.

For my card I chose the following colors:

  • Crushed Curry
  • Peekaboo Peach
  • Cucumber Crush

The body, antenna and sentiment are stamped in Memento Black. By using “Just for You”, the inside can be stamped for any occasion – birthday, hello, sorry your sick, etc.  It’s always a good idea to have a few cards sitting around that with one quick stamp are good for any occasion. This design would also make a great notecard.

Wink of Gold Sunshine

Happy Friday, or weekend eve. Hope your week has gone well.

Last week I had fun playing with the Sunshine Sayings Bundle and Playful Palette Designer Washi Tape and today I’ve added a twist by using Peekaboo Peach to die cut the flower and brushed over it with Gold Wink of Stella for glitter.

The card base is Thick Whisper White, Basic Black mat of 5″ x 3¾” and Whisper White of 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″ with the bottom covered with strips of Washi tape, wrapped around the edges. The Basic Black piece is adhered with Stampin Dimensionals and liquid glue used to adhere the word sunshine and the flower. Three Peekaboo Peach Enamel Shapes finish off the card.

Catalog CASE (copy and share with everyone)

Today’s card is a “CASE” – copy and share with everyone from the Stampin Up Annual catalog. I really like the look of the card and thought I would give it a try.  The card features the Birthday Blossoms Stamp set and Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

To get started I used a card base of Smoky Slate and stamped the bunch of flowers stamp on the bottom and top of the card, no need to do the middle since it will be covered by the Very Vanilla Brick Wall. Happy Birthday was stamped with Memento Black Ink. Before the wall was attached with Stampin Dimensionals, a piece of Solid Black Bakers twine was tied around and tied with a bow.  The Pansy’s are stamped with Melon Mambo on Melon Mambo and leaves with Emerald Envy on Emerald Envy.  The stems are thin strips of Emerald Envy, leaves and stems are adhered with liquid glue. Pansy’s are adhered with Stampin Dimensionals. A few pearls finish off the card.

Christmas in July with Letters for You!

Merry Christmas in July!  With the temperatures hot and humid out thought this was the perfect time for the holiday card, it is after all five months away.

Today’s card features the Letters for You Bundle, Snow Place Stamp Set and Snow Friend Framelits. I was sitting around thinking about what type of card I could make using the new Letters for You stamp set and matching Large Letter Framelits when I saw a Christmas in July post on Facebook and the word “Joy” popped into my head. After stamping and die cutting the J – O – Y, I thought why not substitute a snowman for the “O” and the card was designed.

The card base is Pool Party, cut 8½” x 5½”, scored at 4¼” for a top folding card. Another piece of Pool Party was cut 3¾” x 5″ and run through the Big Shot using the Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder, matted on a slightly larger piece of Read Red to match the letters, this piece is then adhered with Stampin Dimensionals. Snowman is from the Snow Place stamp set die cut with it’s matching framelit, Peekaboo Peach Stampin Write Marker was used to color his nose. Before adhered the Snowman, I ran a Clear Wink of Stella pen over it for shimmer. There is Basic Black Metallic Thread adhered behind the Snowman with glue dots and adhered with Stampin Dimensionals, the letters were adhered with  foam adhesive strips.

Simple Saturday Cupcakes

Happy Saturday and welcome to “Simple Saturday’s” – Using one stamp set to create the card. This week Sweet Cupcake Photopolymer Stamp set is featured.

Today’s shows you that just because a stamp set comes in a bundle, this one with matching dies, you don’t always needs to use both, you can create cool cards without die cutting. This week I’ve created two cards, a Simple Saturday version and another “stepped up” version.

The cupcake in the set is a three step stamping process, each image is labeled 1 – 2 – 3 which makes the stamping easy. For my cupcake I used the following ink pads.

Cupcake Bottom:

  • Sahara Sand
  • Crumb Cake
  • Soft Suede

Cupcake Icing:

  • Blushing Bride
  • Flirty Flamingo
  • Watermelon Wonder

The card starts with a Flirty Flamingo card base, next is a piece of Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper matted on Watermelon Wonder and adhered with Stampin Dimensionals. The cupcake is stamped on Whisper White, matted on Watermelon Wonder.

Love me some Washi Tape . . .

Happy Thursday, hope your week is going well. Today’s card features the Sunshine Sayings Bundle and the Playful Palette Designer Washi Tape and one of the new In-Color Enamel shapes ♥

This card is fun and easy to make. I started with a piece of Whisper White 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″ and added strips of Washi tape around the bottom, wrapping it around the edges and adhered to a piece of Emerald Envy of 5″ x 3 ¾”, the card base is Thick Whisper White. Now let your imagination go, I picked the heart, love and sentiment of ‘is in the air’, thought it all looked nice together. There is an enamel heart added to the end of the banner for a little something something!

Love is in the Air heart

If you have some washi tape laying around this is a great way to use it, all you need is the Sunshine Sayings bundle and your on your way.

Butterfly Layers

Hello to all, hope you are having a good week.

Today’s card is a layering card, featuring the Fluttering Textured Embossing Folder and Gold Foil die cut Butterfly. The main three colors of the card are Whisper White, Dapper Denim and Watermelon Wonder, two layers of each on a Whisper White Card base. The layer with the butterfly on it, is backed with Stampin Dimensionals.  The sentiment and enamel shapes are both in Dapper Denim.

This is a nice easy card to make but it definitely makes a statement.

My first “Bendy” card

Don’t let the look of this card worry you, it’s really rather easy, all you need is your Stampin Up Trimmer and some cardstock. Depending on how you decorate the card, you still have a  4¼” x 5½” card that fits in an A2 envelope.

The basic pieces for the card are a piece of card stock 4¼” x 5 ½” for the back and one piece for the left and right “bendy” flaps.  The flaps are made from another  4¼” x 5½” piece of card stock cut into two pieces –  1¾” x 5½” & 2½” x 5½”. Each of the flaps have a score at ½” on one end and ¼” on the other.  The ½” score is used to adhere the flap to the left side (as you face the card) and the ¼” score is used to create the tab (I just free hand cut a tab).  To adhere flaps, crease the score and glue or use Tear n Tape to adhere to the back of the card. Slits are created on the back piece 2″ from the right side and on the left flap 1¾” from the left side.  I fresh handed with a pencil where I needed the slits and used my trimmer to make the cut, just erase any left over marks. To get the “bendy” to run your bone folder over the back of the paper to shape it.

One suggestion I have is to make a sample card first, before making your good one. This way you see how the card goes together and if you want to move the slits around. The measurements for the slits are up to you, they don’t have to be at the measurements above, move them to meet your decorating needs.

Once you have the card base made, decorate to your hearts content!  I used flowers from the Falling Flowers Bundle, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits and Sunshine Sayings bundle.  Sunshine is backed with the new foam adhesive strips and brushed with Gold Wink of Stella. Some of the flowers and leaves also have a little Wink of Stella as well. Just keep in mind to mail the card, you need to unbend and the card should lie flat for the envelope, or you can always make a matching envelope for the card. Finish touches were some Rhinestones in the center of the flowers.

Celebrate Simple Saturday

Welcome to Simple Saturday, featuring the Celebrate Today photopolymer stamp set. For my card I am using only the stamp set. There are coordinating Balloon Framelits and I’ve included information on those in the supply list below.

The stamp set is made up of 17 photopolymer stamps and is recommended for 6 different clear blocks. One idea I would recommend and comes in handy is the Clear Block Bundle (all 9 clear blocks Stampin’ Up carries), which goes nicely with the Clear Block Storage Caddy – this way you know were your blocks are at all times and great for taking them with you anywhere!

For my card, I stared with a card base of Pool Party and followed that with a mat of Pool Party that had been run through the Big Shot using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. The pieces of A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack and Whisper White are the same size (3″x 4″) and backed with Stampin Dimensionals. For the balloon, once inked up with Calypso Coral, I stamped the image on scrap paper then the good card stock for a lighter color and followed that will full strength 2nd image of little stars. To finish off the card is a Basic Black Bakers Twine bow and some rhinestones.

All the rage, Shadow Boxes

One of the latest rages now are shadow boxes, made from designer series paper or card stock and decorated.

Today’s post are the first few shadow boxes I’ve made. They are fun to make and make great presents.

For mine I used the Affectionately Your Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack. The Night of Navy/Crumb Cake box started as a 12″ x  12″ sheet of paper, with scores at the 1″ – 2″ – 3″ & 4″ and additional scores at 5″ on two opposite sides. See the 2nd photo for the additional scores and cut out needed (on opposite sides). Once the cut outs are done, fold and secure with tear & tape to form a square, the other two sides will then fold up and tuck in. You can use glue dots to secure if you like. Next step is to decorate inside and on the borders.

Smaller box is a piece of 6″ x 6″ paper with scores at ½” – 1″ – 1½” – 2″, additional score at 2 ½”

Think of the possibilities, these would have really cute Christmas Ornaments or gifts.

Shadow Boxes

Basic pattern that can be used with any size paper, square or rectangular, just need to make sure the 4 score lines are equal distance, as well as the 5th that is used for the cut-out.

Love is in the Air with In-Colors!

In keeping with the theme from Simple Saturday, 2016-2018 In-Colors, today’s card features the Sunshine Sayings Bundle – the Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set and coordinating Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies, using the new 2016-2018 In-Colors.

New In-Color card stock was used to die cut both the large and small flowers. These flowers are layered on a card base of Thick Whisper White card stock, with a pearl for accent. You could also use a rhinestone for a little more sparkle.

For my card I used ‘Love’ and ‘is in the air’, any die & wording from the stamp set would work. Have fun with it!

Some ideas are:

  • Love – you
  • you are my – Hope
  • Congrats – so happy for you
  • hello – Sunshine

Fireflies light up the night!

When I see the fireflies out at night I remember back to when I was a child and would catch them and put them in a jar with holes in the lid to watch them glow. On Facebook I saw that a local orchard was having a Firefly Festival last night for kids, both of these items inspired today’s card. Plus, who doesn’t like a shaker card!

My card features the Jar of Love Photopolymer bundle, 37 stamps and 17 matching dies! The stamp set is called Jar of Love and the matching die set is Everyday Jars Framelits.

To make my card I started with the card base and layering mat. Both are using Early Espresso card stock and the mat has been run through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling Textured Embossing folder. Before adhering to the base I lightly ran the Whisper White Craft Ink stamp pad over it to make it look like stars in the night sky.  Next are the fireflies, stamped with Memento Black Ink, colored in with a Delightful Dijon marker and die cut with their matching die. The jar was stamped on Whisper White and die cut with the matching die, also using a piece of Window Sheet and Whisper White die cut matching jars, just not with the open die cut. The window sheet was adhered to the stamped image, I turned it over, added a foam adhesive strip to create the well to fill with fireflies and some Dazzling Diamond Glitter, next I attached the extra jar to seal everything in. On the front of the jar I adhered a handle and lid and adhered to the card. A few extra fireflies added, with dimensionals, as they are flying around the night air.  Sentiment is from the stamp set, stamped in Delightful Dijon and adhered with liquid glue.

Simple Saturday – Kinda Eclectic

Welcome to Simple Saturday – this week I’m featuring the Kinda Eclectic stamp set with the new 2016-2018 In-Colors, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum, Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy. This stamp set is perfect for those who like the collage look and it showcases a variety of colors rather nicely. The five images of stamps match the number of In-Colors perfectly and you can match the sentiment and mat color to accent a favorite color!

The Kinda Eclectic stamp set comes in both wood or clear mount. If you have either of butterfly punches, Bitty Butterfly or Elegant Butterfly, they both coordinate with these images and can be used for added interest and depth.

Just ink up and stamp away!

Party in a Box !

Ever been looking that craft project to take with you for something to do while waiting on the kids, doctors appointment, on vacation or even just a relaxing Saturday afternoon? Well I have the solution for you, Stampin’ Up! kits. There are two types in this years annual catalog,  one type are All-Inclusive (kit with photopolymer stamp set included) or kit with coordinating stamp set, both are perfect for the beginner or long time crafter.

This past weekend I decided to work on the On Happy Day Card Kit while my wings and pork roast were smoking away. I really enjoyed having everything I needed all together, including a ink spot and clear block, all I needed where paper snips and liquid glue (my favorite adhesive). Since the kits comes with pictures of what each card looks like, I decided to use that as my guide, using clear envelopes I first put the pieces together for each card and stamped the images, this made assembly super easy.

Here is what all the cards look like from the catalog:

142725S

Here is what mine looked like completed, you can even use the box the kit comes in as the wrapping, just add a festive bow using any of the beautiful Stampin’ Up! ribbons!

Party in a Box with watermark

Love me some Copper!

Happy Tuesday, hope you had an enjoyable weekend!

Today’s card features the new Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the Affectionately Yours Product Suite.  The card base is Night of Navy and the mat is one of the Copper Foil papers from the Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper has colorful floral designs including copper foil. Ten sheets are 2 each of 5 double-sided designs and 1 each of 2 single-sided designs with foil, all sheets are 12″x12″.  For the flower (die cut from the Botanical Builders Framelits), I embossed the new Copper Powder on a piece of Night of Navy first, then die cut. The sentiment, from the Love & Affection Photopolymer stamp set (16 total stamps!) is heat embossed with the Copper Powder as well. The leaves are in Night of Navy as well, for a striking card. I see this design working nicely for an elegant wedding card.

Simple Saturday with Bunch of Blossoms

Welcome to Simple Saturday – using one stamp set to create your card. Today I am featuring the Bunch of Blossoms Bundle which includes the Bunch of Blossoms Stamp Set and matching Blossoms Builder Punch. I’ll be showing you two versions, one using the stamp set and one with the flowers stamped, punched out and backed with Stampin Dimensionals. This set has images that are “double stamped” to create the petals and leaves, first you stamp the light color then the darker shade.

The card starts out with a card base of Blushing Bride, mat of Old Olive and Whisper White for the images. The petals are stamped with Blushing Bride and Sweet Sugarplum.  For the leaves I first stamped off on scrap with Old Olive then stamped the image and topped with a full strength stamped Old Olive image. The sentiment is stamped with Memento Black to make it pop off the page. For the “stepped” up version I stamped the images on scrap paper, punched them out, and are backed with Stampin Dimensionals when added to the card for depth and dimension.  The Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon is wrapped around the edges and adhered with glue dots. The Old Olive/Whisper White piece is  backed with Stampin Dimensionals when attached to the card base. A bow and pearls to finish off the card.

Here is the “stamped” version:

Merry Christmas in July!

Merry Christmas in July! Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I really enjoy the Hallmark channels Christmas in July movies, they start this afternoon. I’m known for taping and watching these movies through the whole year. My husband even enjoys them with me, he’s such a great guy! Have a feeling a few will get watched into the night this weekend!

In honor of Christmas in July, I decided on a Christmas card today featuring the Snow Place stamp set and Snow Friends Framelits. Last catalog they were a bundle, this catalog they are single purchases in case you are wondering. You will notice that I used the Woodland Textured Embossing folder, brought back by popular demand.

To create my card I used a Soft Sky card base and mat, which was run through the Big Shot inside the embossing folder. The Whisper White Craft Ink pad was gently swiped across the raised image and snowflakes stamped in Soft Sky. The mat is adhered with dimensionals. The woodland friend where stamped and die cut with Dazzling Diamond Glitter paper adhered with glue dots as a snow bank. What a fun card for Christmas and easy to put together, great to start now and be prepared when the holiday rolls around.
