Stained Glass Blended Bloom

Happy Tuesday, hope you are having a good week.

Today I thought I would share with you and cool technique I found on You Tube over the weekend, “Stained Glass”. I took the Blended Bloom stamp, inked it with black StazOn ink and stamped it on a piece of Window Sheet. Next I gave it a few minutes to make sure it was completely dry, turned the window sheet over and colored the image with the new Blendabilites markers.  Once I was done coloring I used a glue dot in the center and a little adhesive (fast fuse) to adhere the window sheet to a piece of Champagne Glimmer paper and cut out.  To make sure the glimmer paper stayed adhered to the card stock I used liquid glue, but fast fuse would work as well.  The card is below.

PCCCS115 – Bright & Cheerful

Happy Sunday hope you are having a great day. Weather here is beautiful today – sunny, windy and warm for this time of year, perfect day to spend on the sun porch relaxing and crafting, I am working on a Christmas swag for my living room.  Once I have the swag complete, I will post a photo. Todays card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #115, the sketch is below.

PCCCS106-160-004-300x300

This is one of those cards that when I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to use the “Too Kind” stamp set for the focal stamped image and bright/cheerful colors for the card, so Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper it is. For me, the hardest part of the card was finding a stamp with a small enough sentiment.  The flower is a two stamp process, I inked the first stamp with Melon Mambo – stamped on scratch paper – then on Whisper White just above the stem, second stamp was inked with Melon Mambo and stamped full strength on top of the first image, for a two tone look. The image in the top right corner is from the Dotty Angles stamp set, stamped off the page. Scraps of Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo add the shapes. The bow is made with the new 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon, 2 pieces of ribbon were used for the bow.

FMS159

Hi there, hope you are having a good week, one day to go until the weekend. For todays selection I stopped over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog for this weeks design by Jen M. For some reason when I saw the sketch the first thing I thought of was stars.

FMS Final 159-001For my design I used a card base of Night of Navy and Silver as my color selection, beautiful for a holiday card.  The card is a top folding card, which gives the illusion of a long card. Started with a piece of Silver foil cut into a square and embossed with the new Lucky Stars Embossing folder and centered on a piece of slightly larger Silver Glimmer paper.  The stars are die cut using the Star Framelits, smallest star is from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack. Dimensionals were used for depth.

MOJO368

Happy Tuesday, hope you week is going well. Today is the last day of my vacation, back to work tomorrow. I’ve had a lot of fun on my “stay-ca-tion”.  Over the last few days I have done some shopping, spa time,  crafting, parties with friends – including a surprise 40th birthday party, I feel rested and ready to get back to work.

Today I thought I would share a card with you for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge. The sketch below was designed by Debbie Carriere, take a look.

mojo368

Here is the card I designed, which is what I like to call clean and simple, easy to put together.  The card base in Baked Brown Sugar, with a mat of Coastal Cabana ( I will miss this color when it retires next year).  The designer paper I used is Lullaby, don’t let the name fool you, it’s not just for baby cards. Used the Hearts – a – Flutter Framelits for the hearts.  The Champagne glimmer hearts are punched from the Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack and the greeting from Pictogram Punches.

PCCCS114 – Shaker card

Happy Monday, I’m enjoying another couple vacation days this week, so I thought I would post this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch in between projects I am working on using the Four Feathers stamp set (with matching framelits) and a request for a card with butterflies as a wreath. I would like to say thank you for being picked as a Featured Artisan for PCCCS#112!  Click here to see that post.  The sketch for this weeks challenge is below.

PCCCS105-159-004

For my card I challenged myself to use items in the ‘Project Life Seasonal Snapshot Accessory Pack’ we received at convention to create this weeks card.  The card base is Very Vanilla with a mat of Tangerine Tango, then Old Olive.  Washi tape, epoxy dots and banners accent the left side of the card.  The leaf at the bottom left is an extra from a project we received at convention I have been waiting to used to create my own embellishment.  I took a piece of Tangerine Tango card stock and stamped the banner from Amazing Birthday on it in the same color,  glued the wooden leaf to the paper, once it was dried I cut it out.  Crystal Effects was poured in and allowed to dry overnight, Crystal effects was used to attached to the frame.  For the frame I used a card from the Project Life series and square framelit to create the window.  Window sheet from the accessory pack covers the window and sequins from the kit are inside to shake – shake – shake!

Sunday Stampers Cards

Today is the monthly gathering of my Sunday Stampers Hostess club.  Each month we meet at a different hostess’s home for a fun filled few hours of stamping, laughing and some great food. Today we are meeting at the home of the newbie in the group .  Thought I would share with you the projects that we will be making.  In preparation for the holidays we will be making two cards and two tags (each person will make the shaker tree tag and another of their choice). We are using the stamp sets: Bright & Beautiful (with Star Framelits), Festival of Trees (with tree punch) and Endless Wishes.

For the card using Bright & Beautiful, I made two sample cards – one with Pistachio Pudding and another with Blackberry Bliss – showed them both to my husband and he said that the Pistachio Pudding card was so – so at best, but that the Blackberry Bliss just said “holidays’ to him – so Blackberry Bliss it is.  Both cards are below for your viewing pleasure.

October Sunday purple star_edited-1October Sunday Pistachio star

Next is a card and matching tag is using the “Festival of Trees” stamp set.  This card is a combination of different cards I’ve seen on Pinterest and the tag resembles one from the holiday catalog. A little ‘casing’ sometimes is a good thing.

October Sunday snowflake and tree card tagFinally here are the tags, each person will make the shaker tree tag using a window sheet and dimensionals.  The shaker items are sequins and stars punched from the Confetti Star punch.  Each person will be able to pick the 2nd tag they wanted to make since we all have different tastes and some may want a tag to match a card. Sampling of some tags below.

Hope you enjoyed this tour of cards and tags.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday, Craft on!

FMS158 – “Booty”

Happy Friday, hope you all have an exciting weekend planned, I know I do.  Today I need to cut the paper and prepare for my Sunday stamping group. Have a few events to go to this weekend so I will be making some great appetizers and cards to take with me, two of my favorite things, cooking and crafting.  I’m one of those that most times find cooking and crafting relaxing.

For today’s card I have visited the Freshly Made Sketches blog for a design created by Jen T.  Don’t forget to check out their blog.

FMS Final 158-001I’ve decided to use Halloween colors for a non-Halloween card, thought the more I think about it, the greeting stamped inside could be for a variety of occasions.  Sometime you just need to think past the obvious, the original purpose of the stamp set in birthday, but thank you, thinking of you or even Happy Halloween all work.

MOJO367

Happy Friday to me!, oops it’s only Wednesday – but if you are on vacation for the next few days it’s Friday! Yeah.  I have a busy few days ahead of me with a variety of appointments and scheduled crafting time as well!  This weekend my ‘Sunday Stampers’ meet so I will be finishing up the paper cutting and getting everything ready. Next week I will post the projects we completed, holidays are the theme with cards and tags.

Today’s post is for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge posted by Sarah.  As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to do a Halloween themed card using items from the September Paper Pumpkin Kit.  Here is the sketch.

zzmojo367In thinking of the colors to use for my card, I went with the Halloween staples  – Elegant Eggplant, Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow and Basic Black – better known to common folks as purple – orange – green – black. The greeting, stickers and sequins all came from the September Paper Pumpkin Kit.  New Tangelo Twist Stitched Satin Ribbon added a nice touch.  The item in the photo beside the card is the cute pouch included in the kit.  I know some specials kids that will be getting some cool Halloween treats this year!

FMS157

Happy Monday, hope you all had a great weekend.  Thought I would start off this week with my card for the Freshly Made Sketches 157 challenge. The sketch is below.

FMS Final 157-001

My card for this sketch is clean & simple and could be used for a variety of reasons, based on the greeting added to the inside.  The card base is Whisper White and a top folding card.  There is a piece of Lullaby Designer paper matted on Baked Brown Sugar and centered on the card base. Greeting is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar on Coastal Cabana, star die cut from Gold Glimmer paper is the added ‘bling’ for the card.

PCCCS113 – Peace & Joy

Hi there, hope all is well with you today.  Last week was a very busy week at work and my crafting was put on the back burner for a few days – but I am back today with my card for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch challenge.

PCCCCS104-158-004-2-214x300

Below is my card and here is how I put it together.  The card base is Whisper White cut 4.25″ x 11″, top folded.  The mat is embossed with the new Lucky Stars folder and glued to the card base. The holiday stamp set “Endless Wishes” was used to create the snowflakes, matted on Coastal Cabana, backed with Stampin Dimensionals and placed on a piece of Pistachio Pudding for a little depth.  For the trees, I used the Tree punch from the holiday catalog, punched out a tree then put the tree in the punch (looking at the bottom side of the punch) and punched out a smaller tree, I did need to trim some of the tree trunk so that the dimensions matched. Stamped the greeting on Whisper White, mounted on Pistachio Pudding, used Hexagon punch for the banner ends and attached to the card.  Added a few jewels for a little holiday bling!

FMS156 – Bearing Gifts

Well the weekend is almost over, now we are gearing up for another week.  The weather was chilly here today and we actually saw a few snow flakes last night. Let me make it clear – I am not ready for snow, I would prefer cool morning and 70’s during the day. Did any of you make any cards this weekend in honor of World Card Making Day?  I worked on a few and will share them with you later in the month. Today I watched some football and took a nap (that’s what happens with the smell of a roast in the oven and a cuddly afghan over you. Now on to the card…

Today’s card is using the sketch from “Freshly Made Sketches #156”,  a wonderful design by Narelle using a variety of different shapes.

FMS Final 156-001

For my card, I decided to turn the card horizontal. The card base is Crumb Cake with a mat of Crumb Cake stamped with the Hardwood Background stamp, love this stamp, seem to be using it a lot lately. You can either glue the mat directly to the card base or use dimensionals.  When making cards to mail I have a tendency not to use as many dimensionals then when I know I will be handing someone the card.  Before I mounted the Bearing Gifts stamp, I cut the greeting from the image – this way I can easily use them separately.  The image is stamped with Memento Black on Whisper White and colored with a variety of Blendabilites Markers.  Once I had the coloring done, I went through my “scrap paper” to find pieces to use for the rest of the card.  Greeting is stamped in Memento Black on Cherry Cobbler. For the banner, I punched a strip of Daffodil Delight using t he Confetti Stars Border punch and backed it with a piece of Tempting Turquoise – used liquid glue to adhere them together. The banner is then added to the card with dimensionals. Image is glued on and a Old Olive circle finishes the card.

World Card Making Day !

Happy World Card Making Day!  Thought I would share two cards made with the same stamp set (Festival of Tree’s with matching Tree Punch) using traditional and not so traditional holiday colors.   The basics of the cards are the same – Crumb Cake cardstock for the card base, banner 3/4″ x about 3″-4″ with a tree stamped and popped up with a dimensional in the center of the banner.  For the traditional card I added stars as a background using a mask and white craft ink (just remember to let the ink dry well before you move to the next step).  The tree is actual  two different stamps put together. Festival of Trees is a photopolymer stamp set which makes lining up the images very easy.  Greeting on the purple tree card is from Good Greeting (October Hostess set) and below the greeting is from Wonderous Wreaths.

PCCCS112 – Season’s Greetings

Happy Friday, hope you had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend.  I’m sitting on my porch enjoying the evening air waiting for the rain storm to start. Today was in the 70’s and Saturday is expected to be in the  low 50’s for the high – talk about a change in weather.

For todays card I am completing the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #112, and yes it is similar to a more recent challenge.  For my card for this one, instead of word bubbles, I used trees. Here is the sketch. PCCCS106-160-003-300x300

For this challenge, as soon as I saw the design, I knew what I wanted to do – Blackberry Bliss and Silver Embossing.  The card is a 5″x5″ square out of Whisper White cardstock, layered with a piece of Blackberry Bliss (my favorite new In-Color).  I used a few of the stamps from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to create the background, which is heat embossed in silver.  The trees are from the Festival of Trees stamp set, with matching tree punch.  Two trees are heat embossed in Crushed Curry and Pool Party, the third is stamped in Blackberry Bliss, Stampin Dimensionals are behind the Pool Party tree.  In my forest there are no basic green trees. Greeting is heat embossed in Crushed Curry.   Silver Glimmer hearts and Candy dots act as accents for a little bling!

#plunge1 – Hello Fall

Happy Wednesday, almost halfway through the week. Tonight is a big night here in Pittsburgh, the Pirates are playing a wild card baseball game – if they win they start the climb to the World Series, I wish them luck! The team has asked for a ‘black out’ (wear black shirts to the game),  I will be wearing by black polka dot jammies as I watch the game tonight. LOL.

Now on to todays card,  I came across a new blog, The Paper Plunge and thought I would give it a try. This is their very first challenge. Fall is in the air, and the rich colors of autumn are on our minds!  They asked that you create a fall project – card, scrapbook page or 3D item to play!  The card I came up we made this past Sunday with my Sunday Stampers Class where each person was able to use the stamp set to create their own stamped image from the For All Things stamp set.

For the card, I decided I wanted to highlight the Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper and use some cool accents.  The card base is Soft Suede and the layers of designer series paper are matted on Cajun Craze and popped up with Stampin Dimensionals.  In between the layers is a piece of Burlap Ribbon frayed at the ends for texture. The focal image is stamped on Very Vanilla in Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow using the For All Things stamp set.  There is a gold metal button in the corner tied with a piece of linen thread. All supplies are from Stampin’ Up!
