Cute Koala

Thought I would share a cute Koala card with you today. Koala’s are one of my favorite animals, they are just so cute!  My ultimate vacation would be a trip to Australia to see them in their natural surroundings.

The stamp has the words ‘thinking of’ and ‘you’ part of the entire stamp, now hold your breath – I performed “Stamp Surgery” and carefully cut away the ‘thinking of’ and ‘you’ parts (mounted them on a extra piece of wood I had for later use).  This way I can use the cute Koala on a variety of cards.

Below is the stamp and the card I made.  I colored Mr. K. with the Smokey Slate Blendabilities Markers and the flower with the Daffodil Delights ones.  The jewels are colored with Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities. Tip of mine – I prefer to color with the short end of the marker, so I am using the brush end for coloring to extend the life of my Blendabilities.  Also, watch your scraps, the Blackberry Bliss the Koala is layered on, actually has a hole in it, the Hello Honey/Image layer covers the hole.  Two great tips  – one cute card!134360G

Bootiful Rain/Sun

Happy Monday, Today’s card represents what I’m thinking as I watch the raining falling again today.  We had rain “showers” all weekend, including at the Jason Aldean concert @ PNC Park in Pittsburgh Saturday night.  The rain actually felt good, but the lightening was a little scary at time. Great concert – Tyler Farr, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert and JA where all great!  Recommend if you have the chance and they are all worth seeing in concert!

Today is a rather simple card, but makes a statement “When the rain is done, out comes the sun!”.   Stamped images from Kind Eclectic on a piece of Moonlight DSP and layered on Basic Black, using Coastal Cabana as the card base.  Stamped the boot image with Memento Black, colored with Coastal Cabana Blendabilities pen and used Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on the clouds.  Guess the country vibe is still going from the weekend by using a boot, even if its a rain boot 🙂

Tag Card

Today’s card is one from an organized swap I am participating in at the Stampin Up convention this week.  My Sunday stampers made a similar card in are June class. At the bottom of the post is a photo of the cards made in June, you can see a different version of todays card.

Soft Suede cardstock was used as the base of the card. There are two same size rectangles (Blackberry Bliss card stock and Park Lane Designer Series Paper) stacked and slightly off center.   The tag is Blackberry Bliss cardstock, stamped and clear heat embossed with a stamp from the ‘Work of Art’ stamp set and punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch. Flowers are stamped in Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral using the ‘Petite Petals’ and ‘Something to Say’ stamp set – both punched out with their matching punches (Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accent Punch Pack). Tag s topped off with bow using the new Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon and backed with dimensionals.  Greeting on the card is from the ‘A Dozen Thoughts’ stamp set

24/7 Swap Card

Today I would like to share with you a card that I will be swapping with the 24/7 Stampers later today at our pre-convention gathering.  During my niece Maya’s visit over July 4th, she not only helped me design the card after viewing some idea’s on You Tube, but scored and stamped them!  Don’t worry, I did work on the card, I cut, glued, colored the pearls for inside the flowers and put them together!  Shout out to Maya for a great job Woo Hoo :)!!    After the photo of the card is one of her & I with our crafting t-shirts (the 24/7 stampers will be wearing them at convention)!

The card is called a Step Block Card, from a video by Dawn Griffith on You Tube, saw it and fell in love with the card.

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, new 2014-2016 In-Colors and Whisper White.  Stamp Sets: Gorgeous Grunge, Petite Petals and Yippee Skippee. Ink pads: 2014-2016 In-Colors, Memento Black. Other items used: Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Starburst Framelit,  1 3/4″ circle punch, petite petal punch, pearls and Blendabilities (used to color the pearls).

Christmas in July

Happy Christmas in July week!  I am a big fan of Christmas and love making holiday cards for family and friends. At the Stampin’ Up convention this week we will be receiving the new Holiday catalog with the chance to preorder some items as demonstrators – I can hardly wait!!!!

Thought I would share with you a card made with the ‘Work of Art’ stamp set.  Card base is Cherry Cobbler, with a layer of Old Olive on top. On the Whisper White I used one of the swirly looking stamps to create the flower, stamping off some of the petals and others in full ink. Greeting is from a vintage Christmas stamp set.

Here is my card. The cardbase is Old Olive, with a piece of Old Olive and Park Lane Designer Series Paper layered on Tangelo Twist. A piece of Tangelo Twist Stitched Satin Ribbon hides the seam.  Used a Starburst Framelit with Pistachio Pudding cardstock as the backdrop for flowers stamped and die cut with the Flower Patch stamp set and matching Flower Fair Framelits.  Flowers are Hello Honey, with a Tangelo Twist center, each layer is popped up with dimensionals. The greeting is from the Perfect Pennant stamp set and black heat embossed on Whisper White, die cut with one of the pieces of the Chalk Talk Framelits and a Daffodil Delight Candy Dot for an accent.  Wooden arrow is colored with a Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities marker and is from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Accessory Pack, highlighted with a little Hello Honey Flower.

Paper Craft Crew #100

Hope you all had an enjoyable weekend with family and friends.  I enjoyed having my brother and his family here for the long weekend, even had some crafting time with my niece which is always nice!

Here is the sketch for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #100 challenge.  Click on the sketch to visit the PCC blog and see other designs.

PCCCS-73-103-010-300x300

Here is how I created this weeks card.  The card base is Blackberry Bliss, with a layer of Hello Honey and Moonlight Designer Series Paper, acting as the base of the card. Next layer is popped up with dimensionals, Blackberry Bliss and Moonlight Designer Series Paper.  Blackberry Bliss 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon is wrapped around the layers. There is a Tea Lace Paper Doily inked with Blackberry Bliss peaking out of the left side.  On the right side is a Sahara Sand tag (used the Scallop Tag Topper Punch) stamped with a flower from the Petite Petals stamp set in Sahara Sand and bow on top.  Greeting is from the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set, white heat embossed on Blackberry Bliss. Flowers are from the Flower Shop and Petite Petals stamp set – each with a matching punch to make it easy.  Larger flower is white heat embossed on Blackberry Bliss and smaller flower is stamped in Hello Honey.  Used the darkest shade of the Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities to color the Rhinestone Jewels for a little bling on the card!
