Paper Craft Crew Sketch #99

Hope you are all having a nice weekend. Weather was beautiful here Saturday, spent over 6 hours enjoying my pool, so that means a lot of things to do today, but that’s ok, weather will not be “pool” weather so errands it is. Need to get ready, my brother Michael and his family will be visiting for a long weekend starting Thursday.

Here is this weeks card for the Paper Craft Crew Card sketch #99.  This one definitely took a while for me to figure out, then once I did – bam the card was made.

Remember you can always click on the sketch to go to the PCC blog and check out other great designs.

Here is this weeks card.  I knew I wanted to use one of the “Blended Bloom” flowers I stamped with black Memento Ink, then  colored with my Blendabilities markers.  The Pumpkin Pie  flower won the prize to be included on the card. The center of the flower is colored with the Old Olive Blendabilities markers. Instead of using designer paper, I chose to use a new Stampin Up Decorative Mask to create the top part of the background. On Hello Honey cardstock I used the Stars mask and heat embossed with clear embossing  powder. Used a piece of Hello Honey Stitched Statin Ribbon to mark the divide.  This is popped up with Stampin Dimentionals on Mossy Meadow cardstock.  Behind the flower is a piece of Whisper White and Tangelo Twist, both die cut from the Squares Collection Framelits.  The leaves for the flowers are die cut in Mossy Meadow using the Flower Fair framelits..  Used the Flower Patch stamp set and Flower Fair framelits for the greeting on  and decorations (Crushed Curry embossed and Tangelo Twist) on the word bubbles, both die cut from the Word Bubbles framelits collection.  The flower, leaves and word bubbles are popped up with numerous layers of Stampin Dimentionals for depth.

Happy Birthday Diane!

Let me start today by wishing a Happy Birthday to my wonderful sister-in-law Diane, hope you have a great day!  Look forward to seeing you a week from today with my brother Michael, Jake & Maya when you come to visit for a long July 4th weekend!

Today I will be sharing with you the card I sent to Diane for her birthday.  While checking out ‘You Tube’ for some new creative ideas, I found this “screen card” made by fellow demonstrator Deb Valder and just knew it was the right card for Diane.  The card base is a piece of Whisper White 6″ x 12″, scored at 3″, 6″ and 9″ to create the screen effect.  Used the Decorative Label Punch to punch out the bottom to create the “legs” of the screens, for the top I used a “vintage” border punch for a feminine look.  To decorate the screens used a mat of Wild Wasabi, layered with Whisper White which I used one of the new Decorative Mask – Hearts to add to the background.  Flowers, leaves and greeting are from the “Flower Patch” stamp set  which has matching framelits – Flower Fair (these come together as a bundle for 15% off).  Colors used for the flowers include Daffodil Delight, Blackberry Bliss, Strawberry Slush, Blushing Bride, Tangerine Tango and Marina Mist.  Flowers on the outer screens have dimensionals for depth.

Here is the card with the matching envelope I made using a piece of Park Lane Designer Series paper;  Envelope punch board;  Age Awareness – Petite Petal and Something to Say stamp sets, flowers punched with matching punches and jewels for accents.

Let me first say thank you to Paper Craft Crew for selecting me as a Featured Artisan for Sketch #96, it is a honor and I enjoy participating!

Sketch #98 proved to be a challenge as I decided to use every color in the piece of “Sweet Taffy” Designer Series Paper I used as the background. Woo Hoo! I did it!   Here is this weeks sketch. Click on the sketch to visit the PCC blog and see other awesome designs!

Here is the card I designed. The card base is Tempting Turquoise, such a great summer color, reminds me of the beach! Just need one of those cute little umbrella drink 🙂  To make the card, the banner is Rich Razzleberry and embossed with the Stylish Stripes folder and my Big Shot.  Used the Tempting Turquoise with  the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and Daffodil Delight with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch.  The “HI” is die cut from the new “Little Letters Thinlit” Dies, used the magnetic plate with my Big Shot for super easy die cutting.  To round out the colors I used the 1/2″ Circle Punch with Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.  I really like the bright and cheerfulness of the card.  Great card to send with a personalized note inside to let someone know you are thinking of them!  Have a great Saturday.

Work of Art Baby Card

I was just sitting here working  when this just popped into my head, a quick and simple welcome baby card using the stamp set “Work of Art”.  It was the pastel colors I was thinking about.

This is a great card you could use for a baby shower if you do not know if boy or girl or even after the baby is born as a welcome card.  The ink colors used are: Wisteria Wonder, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Pink Pirouette and Memento Black.  The greeting ‘welcome baby’ is from the Petite Pairs stamp set and all other stamps from Work of Art stamp set.  Card base is Wisteria Wonder and mat is Daffodil Delight (I did not have any So Saffron cardstock), but the colors look great together.  Hope you enjoyed this quick & simple card, Craft On!

Too Kind

Today’s card is a Sympathy card I created to send to the husband of a fellow stamper. I thought simple is best.

The card base and mat are Sahara Sand and I used the new ‘Large Polka Dot’ embossing folder for depth on the mat layer.  The stamp set used is called ‘Too Kind’, which is a two-step set, ink colors are, Blackberry Bliss, Wisteria Wonder and Mossy Meadow. Mats and ribbon are both Blackberry Bliss.

PCC#97 – Flowers, Lace & Chevron

Happy Thursday, it’d been a rather rainy week here in the ‘burgh, which seems to always happen when Pittsburgh hosts the Three Rivers Art Festival. Luckily the weekend weather forecast is sunny and 80, grilling, pool time and swaps for convention on my schedule!

Here is the sketch for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #97. Each Wednesday a new sketch is given and the fun begins. I like to print out the sketch and look at it throughout the day – then poof – the magic happens. 🙂

Rarely do I make a square card, so this took some brain power. I decided I wanted to use a piece of paper from the new “Park Lane” Designer series paper pack and a card was born.  The card is Old Olive and a  5″x5″ square. The piece of Park Lane paper is backed by Daffodil Delight and glued to the card.   Starting from left to right – the flower is stamped in Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight using the “Flower Patch” Photopolymer stamp set and cut out using the matching “Flower Flair” framelits – which happen to come in a bundle at a 15% savings! The heart is Old Olive using the Itty Bitty Accent Punch. All layers of the flower are popped by dimensionals. I took a ‘White tea lace paper doily,  swiped the Daffodil Delight ink pad over it a few time to color it and used a piece of it as a focal point in the middle of the card. The label on the right is from the Apothecary Art stamp set using the matching Label Collection framelit, another bundle and 15% savings. Used the new Blendabilities (available to customers mid-summer) to color the label and the greeting is from the Flower Patch stamp set. To finish off the card, three Old Olive chevron’s from the Chevron border punch.

Quick & Simple Birthday Card

Tonight I thought t I would share a Quick and Simple birthday card with you.  This card is made with a new stamp set and designer series paper from the 2014-2015 Catalog.

The stamp set used is called “Age Awareness” and it is a photopolymer set , great for placing the image exactly were you want it on the paper.

Card base is Tempting Turquoise with a mat of “Sweet Taffy” Designer Series Paper, the Happy Birthday is stamped in Tempting Turquoise  on Whisper White and matted on Tempting Turquoise.  For a little added depth, you could always back the greeting with dimensionals.

Hope you enjoyed this quick and simple card, Craft On!

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #96

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Saturday was nice and sunny, I was able to get about 2 1/2 hours in the pool!  Today is overcast and we have had a few rain showers, guess that’s what we are in for today.  That’s actually ok, I can work on some card designs, Monday my first order from the new Stampin’ Up! catalog arrives and I can hardly wait – its like Christmas in June!

Here is my card for this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #96.  Click on the design for a link back to the PPC blog. This was a fun one to think about – for the greeting from the ‘A Dozen Thoughts’ stamp set, I actually reversed the word bubble (from the Word Bubble Framelits Collection).  I die cut the bubble using my magnetic platform and Big Shot, turned it over and heat embossed the ‘Wish Big’ in black.

PCCCS072-102-009-231x300

Let me tell you about the card.  The card base is Whisper White and top folding.  I used a mat of Basic Gray layered with a piece of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack.  There are 2 tags, a Lost Lagoon and Whisper White punched using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, matted and backed by dimensionals. On the Whisper White I used the ‘The Open Sea’ stamp set. The fish is backed by dimensionals for added depth. Ink colors used are, Smokey Slate, Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey.  Circle accents are either  1/4″ or 1/2″.

Endless Birthday Wishes Walt!

Happy Friday, in just a few hours the weekend officially starts.  Its been a rough week at work, we switched to the cloud for email and lets just say its been a ‘stormy’ cloud.  I am looking forward to spending some time in pool if the weather stays sunny, next week I’ll be crafting since my order from the new catalog will be delivered Monday!

Tonight we will be celebrating our friend Walt’s birthday , so today I thought I would share with you his card. He is a big supporter of my crafting and loves looking at all the cards I make. This past Christmas, I surprised Walt and his wife Laurie with f handmade cards in a handmade bag, they loved it!

Now to the card, its using the “Endless Birthday Wishes” Photopolymer stamp set.  With this type of stamp set I was able to actually curve the ‘Celebrate’ around the bottom of the Whisper White circle cut from the Circle Framelits and backed by a Lost Lagoon Starburst Framelit die cut.

Card base is Basic Gray, with a mat of the same color embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured impressions embossing folder. Used the Banner Framelits and Hello Honey & a piece of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack.

The mat, banners and starburst all are backed by dimensionals for depth . Accented the Hello Honey dots and candles with some Dazzling Details and pieces of Lost Lagoon 3/8″ Stitched ribbon under the starburst.
